*The editor had to make adjustments to the audio to get past copyright, Nonetheless I hope you all still enjoy my reaction. Thanks so much for watching!*
I'd love to learn about how you acquired an editor!
to me, just the fact that Christoph Waltz can speak 5 languages fluently is amazing! and the languages that Quintin Tarantino needed for the movie.
Daniel Brühl who played Frederick Zoller speaks even seven languages fluently!
I love both of them. I've always had respect and even a little envy for people that can speak multiple languages. It's always impressed me but I didn't know Bruhl could speak that many. Thanks for the nugget of info 😁🙌@romanknetsch1035
he only speaks 3 languages fluently which he has said multiple times lol, he doesn't speak 5 languages fluently at all.
people who have a hard time understanding why Landa betrayed the germans so fast, let me tell you.
He's not a nazi because he agrees with their ideology, he's a psychopath who likes playing detective and being in the nazi party gives him that power to have fun with people. He has nooooo feelings for them, or Hitler, or even Germany, all he cares about is being the winner and playing his game, and his game is outsmarting people. Many times he could've just gave the order to his soldiers, he already knew what is going on, instead he plays with his food, he's being funny, and then his face changes when he gets to that "got you" moment, and he wants you to know, he KNOWS he got you before you die.
I see him betraying the nazis like this : if i wasn't here, the Americans would've succeeded with their plan, so the germans don't deserve me anymore. I'm out, bye-bye
I think that's why he broke down laughing when talking to Bridget.
He was like "This weak, flimsy facade is what collapses the Nazi regime? This joke of an operation that the barest of scrutiny can pierce is what threatens to undo all of Nazi Germany?"
And, to be clear, if there were Allied lines within a couple hour drive of Paris, France, then D-Day had already come and gone. The writing was on the wall; someone as smart as Landa knows Germany has lost already, it's a matter of them just taking a long time to go down.
When Nazi Germany was at its height and was ruthless, efficient and at its most powerful, I imagine Landa served with pride because he enjoyed serving an effective, competent regime that rewards competence.
Then you have the comedic cavalcade of incompetence that followed German domination in mainland Europe that inevitably resulted in the tide of the war turning against them, and Landa is no longer serving a competent, effective regime, he is serving a failing authoritarian one clinging to power long after its fate was already decided.
I legitimately think Landa had a hand in setting up Hitler's fall intentionally well before Operation Keno. It wouldn't surprise me to learn he was involved in the decision to change venue to make it easier for the Basterds, that he was involved in influencing Hitler to attend the premiere, or that he was involved in leaking that information to the attendees so any defectors could alert the Basterds so he could make contact with them and engineer his own defection.
There's evidence he knew who Shoshanna was and did nothing because he no longer cared, and maybe even hoped she would do what she did as a failsafe in case the Basterds failed and he could take credit. He had solid proof of Bridget's association with the Basterds the day before the premiere and did nothing, told nobody.
Landa was already working on his exit from Nazi Germany by the time we see him at the restaurant. He just refused to retire into obscurity and go into hiding. He wanted what he felt he deserved for being an effective servant, but if Germany fell and he with it, he never would.
yea thats why he strangled bridgett for being a traitor to germany stop tryna gve xredit 2 a nazi
@@33frag he’s not real. And I’m pretty sure underestimating them is exactly how they did what they did
@@perrycarters3113great synopsis. The more you watch this movie the more you start to see Landa as a mastermind. Him being a double agent does seem very plausible
He could be both, maybe one a little more than the other and definitely interested in self preservation.
Christoph Waltz took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the movie. "That's a bingo!"
I can ABSOLUTELY see how !! He killed this roll
This movie almost didn't get made because of his character. Tarantino was looking for years for an actor who was fluent in English, French, and Italian and almost gave up.
@@Deathbird_Mitch He is not really fluent in Italian though, he just pretends very well (his words, not mine ;-))
We just say Bingo
it was well deserved
If you know that Brad does his best to do difficult slangs and accents, his f-ing up Italian is simply magnifique.
Aree vruh dare chee
“Why didn’t they just leave?” The Jews tried to leave Germany leading up to WW2, but allied countries including the U.K. and U.S. limited Jewish immigration and in some cases like Palestine(Israel), the UK even prevented Jews from moving there from Germany until after the war.
Thank you for saying this 🙏
And many more simply chose to stay. Ignoring the warnings. But sure, blame everyone else.
Only the savy ones bailed early. Most waited until it was in full swing.
@@ImLow-KeyIt was their home and they chose to not bow to the hateful regime. That is quite brave imo.
@@baldfraud1806 No. It was dumb.
Though its amazing how often people mix the two up.
The performance of Christoph Waltz as Colonel Hans Landa, it´s one of the greatests ever. What an amazing character. Terrific as hell.
And the whole film almost didn't happen without him! Quentin Tarantino wanted someone fluent in English, French, German, and Italian and no one was fitting his image for the character.
He was so freaking good that I almost forget how freaking good every other actor is.
The Italian speaking scene kills me everytime 😂
I can’t watch it because it makes me a nervous wreck. 😂
Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa is the single greatest acting performance for a villain i've seen
Christopher Waltz was really playing a great villain. His character is perfect and unpredictable.
There's no way to say that "the black guy" died. His name is Marcel btw. He was Emmanuelle's love interest.
He could have easily gotten away. He throws the cigarette and then bolts to where he and Emmanuelle planned to meet... She never shows.
There was an exit in the back, and he was supposed to take their getaway vehicle to the front of the theater's entrance. Sadly, Emmanuel never made it outside.
48:05...Devin, you look like a kid on Christmas morning, lol!
Love this movie absolutely amazing acting, writing and cinematography.
Your intros are TOP NOTCH Dev! My mans said "Sign me UP!" GREAT reaction!
In the scene where he insists that she wait for the cream before eating the strudel, this is a test. Strudel back then would have been made with pork fat. It is against Kosher law to mix pork and dairy. So if she was Jewish it's supposed to be wrong for her to eat that. Obviously she does to save her own ass.
It's not even a test, it's a flex. He absolutely knows who she is right from the beginning, so he makes her eat it as a show that he's in so much control of the situation that he can take even that part of her identity away from her
@@whensomethingcriesagain Crazy thing is that dude had to have agents visit that theater many times over the years until it was confirmed. He 100 percent knew Emanualla was Shoshana. No way he would call out her name when she ran and then not look for her, not hear rumors (remember, he ‘loves’ rumors) about her, and then sit down, order a glass of milk, put sugar in the milk, stir the milk, not take a sip of the milk and then for good measure smoke a cigarette after their interview as if he had just finished having intercourse. What a psycho!!!
49:18 Nope. He simply already knew they will lose the war. So… to secure his future, he struck a deal. And to avoid the jewish tribunal for his inhumane crimes once the war is over.
29:32 It’s not the drinks. It’s his fingers when he asked for 3 glasses. Germans use the first 2 fingers & the thumb as their “3” while the British excludes the thumb & only the first 3 fingers.
Btw, we also use the thumb in France, and in most European countries
I think Landa began to plan his escape once he met Shoshanna at the café. He knew it was her, especially with the glass of milk comment...and yet, he let her go. He had to know that potential out, and then found Bridget's shoe and signature next to two bodies of the Basterds. He knew a plan (or two) were in motion and had to play his cards right to get out of it.
Adam Sandler was originally cast as "The Bear Jew" but filming ended up conflicting with another project. I'd have loved to see that performance!
Landa is still my favorite villain of all time. That guy got some scary stuff…. And that major in the pub… he got some guts..
This is one of my favorite all time movies, big fan of Tarantino. Bruh - you had me crackin' up, enjoyed watching it with you.
Tarantino is really really good at two things; crime movies and revenge movies.
And dialogue and building the suspense
You dev! Your vids are the best man! Keep your head up and have a great year! ❤
you keep doing so well.. thanks for this one.. great reaction and editing as always
Just because some guy hates it when I call movies a masterpiece I must say this movie is a masterpiece!!🔥💪😂
I ABSOLUTELY agree with you
@@DevinGtv901 ikr!!🔥💪😂 this movie is one of the best ever!!!!
thats a bingo
@@kinGsaL1515 😂 I see what you did there
I actually think it's his best movie
One of the greatest openings to any film ever.
This movie was ALSO already on your previous reaction channel. Cmon
Hey, why don't you pick up a carrot and put inside you ass.
It's hysterical watching a grown man leaping about like an excited 6 year old. Very entertaining
Awesome Movie and Work Bro, Thanks!!!!😎👍👍👍👍 Greetings from Helsinki, Finland🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸
Quentin's imagining how small things could have completely changed the present
Too late now for history, but not too late for the future
“ARIBA DIRCHAII” Sounds good!
he is rubbing her hand not in creepy way, he is trying to feel her pulse in order to see how nervous they are..
Ohhhh gotcha!!
I could have so wanted to see the part with your reaction to the briefing scene to see if you recognized Mike Myers lecturing the younger Magneto
Gosh damn this movie is great! That ending is so darkly satisfying; definitely up there with one of Tarantino's best conclusions.
Mannn!! I promise it couldn’t have ended any better 😂😂😂
The family didn't run because he started speaking English. When he was speaking French he made it sound like everything was cool.
this movie is so perfect
Cant beat Bradd Pitts Italian accent 😂
Bro, now you have to go for Django Unchained. This is my number one reaction channel!! Let´s go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He saw Django with his wife. They have a channel together
Think this was the best reaction Devin!❤❤❤😂🤠🔥
Quentin Tarantino purposely kept Christoph Waltz away from the rest of the cast until it was time to shoot the scenes. They didn't know how Chris would play his role, and that made them unsure of how to react around him. I think Quentin wanted them to feel uncomfortable around him, so that it would give a more authentic performance.
It worked. I felt uncomfortable the whole time. 😟
nah you just left out th whole landa/shoshana dialogue. One of the best parts of the movie
one of the best movies made . cast acting plot is top notch . love your reaction

Greatly appreciate the recommendations
@@DevinGtv901 They're solid recommendations. They're not on the level of Inglorious, but they're a lot of fun and worth checking out for sure. Also, as others have said, You'll definitely love Django Unchained if you haven't already seen it. That one IS on the level of Inglorious, also made by Quentin Tarantino. Kind of how Inglorious was a jewish revenge story against Nazis, Django is a slaves revenge story against american slave owners.
@@FinalBossWTMN
yes, you're complete right!
I keep recommending these movies because there is almost no reaction to them.
That first kraut who got his skull mixed with his brain was the zeke outside the cooler doors in WWZ
The man that played Hitler should get an award. He was on point. You can tell he watched and studied his speech, behavior and mannerisms 💯
They use to pay $100 in todays money a scalp for each Indigenous person in NA. Around 55 million 90% of indigenous people were killed around the 1500’s, literally a mass genocide. Today out of the 48m in Canada 5% are indigenous. The northern half are mostly remote communities and Canada is mostly empty. A piece of Canadian indigenous history.
Lando was so offended by the actress being a traitor, but then he became a traitor, too. Btw, if you recall, the mission starts in June 1944, presumably after D Day. Iow, Lando knew Germany was going to lose the war.
Shoshonna suddenly being concerned for the sniper's welfare made ZERO sense! She spent the entire movie hating Nazis and him specifically. Suddenly she cares??? The only way it makes sense is that most people would prefer to get shot than burn to death.
Chernobyl explains it best, the feeling of killing a living being for the first time. It makes complete sense.
One of my favourite movies of all time.
Gotta watch The Dirty Dozen
I miss your old reactions, more genuine ones, without all that smiley bs. I don't believe in your reactions anymore.
He gave his identity up in the pub by how he held his 3 fingers when ordering the drinks- Germans would use number 3 by holding thumb up where as the guy in bar had thumb on pinky 😂 I know it’s crazy but yea
Family first brother! I’m with you. If it was them or my kids, the choice is clear. All good, he got his in the end
Awesome movie! Christoph is such a good actor, hated the guy the whole time😂😂 but man he does great work. And this is one of those movies, you know it isnt legit history wise, but man you love seeing some stuff😂 just straight up entertainment from a great.
Need to watch Django next you will see the head German officer play a good nice roll!
If you have not seen django unchained then you will enjoy that same actor who played hans
A masterpiece of a movie, another badass reaction!
man this movie is so 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This movie is freakin amazing. Tarantino did his thing on this one. Great video bro. Thanks
Landa's Italian has a little bit of an accent and does a couple of grammar mistakes (It's "difficile DA trovare", not "DI trovare"), but overall he's very good in it. Only if you're Italian mother tongue you can hear he's not.
so awesome. surely next on the Tarantino list is Django ?!?!
In my top 5 movies of all time.
Ok bro…2 things, epic movie and was glad to watch it again with ya! Great reaction! Check out Django Unchained if you havnt seen it Christopher Waltz has another impressive performance…: and second I can’t lie… I was a little let down only cause I was looking forward to The Two Towers reaction! Let’s go! 🎉
How many Herman's were in the credits thanks to landa
@Devin one of my favorites from Quentin. Your reaction was amazing
Great video dude 👍
Hitler was so wound up because he was on speed all the tome
I wonder why Tarantino decided "basterds" in the title was better than the correct spelling.
Good stuff
Great intro, love the energy! 💪🏽
Am I allowed to recommend a movie for you to check out? Atomic Blonde from 2016. It was worked on by some of the same people who worked on John Wick. It's a throwback homage to a lot of 80s spy movies while having a lot of that balls out Tarantino-style action.
Atomic Blonde can be compared to John Wick but def not a QT movie. Maybe Kill Bill. It’s his only actual action movie.
Deja vu.
7 minutes in, you asked why didn't they leave..... ummm brah!!!!! WTF. Reading is fundamental.
Mildly amusing fantasy movie
Yeah I really wish the Bear guy and the other dude survived. I didn't like them getting blown up either. I wonder if her helper the Black guy who lit the film on fire made it out. No way he's killing himself too right. I'd have to assume he split out the back way.
Pulp Fiction
Inglorious Basterds
Django Unchained
The Tarantino Triumvirate ❤
Did I say all this out loud?
This is such an amazing movie. I wish it would have went down like this!
One of my favorite Brad Pitts movies now
Yo Devin G you should watch the show "Masters of the air" its a good show !
Keep up the reactions man luv em !!
There was a group of Jewish soldiers that were the Inglorious Bastards during WWII. Their true story is even more interesting than this movie...although I love this movie.
I know about the Jewish Avengers, but i thought they were after the war. I believe they disguised themselves as cooks and went hunting Nazi's that got away or werent charged
Definity your type of movie.
Definitely saving this one for later tonight
Greatly Appreciate you tuning in
@@DevinGtv901 About to watch it right now brother!
Hell yeah. Sign my yellow ass up too! I love that Tarantino made this movie. Great reaction. 👍
"I feel like Tarantino is low key....insane?" 😂😂😂 Dawg yes. But thats what makes him the man ✊🏼
Schindler’s list is also a good movie
I used to watch your vet reacts channel, is that this one? Or is this new.. Either way, have a great weekend, thanks for the reaction
12:31 always my favorite part😆😆
One of my favorite movies!! I would ABSOLUTELY join the Patreon but it's the provide your own copy thing that keeps me from joining. I always watch these on my phone and i can't stream 2 videos at once😢
You missed the best part of the film in the table scene.
3 glasses.
Such a fun movie!
There is a little bit of video between your advertisements
As a French person yeah I can say from my grandma Germans talked minimum tree languages 😂. Also German soldiers didn’t have a choice to do participate to war. Yeah I have seen some old homes yeah you can see French people hiding Jews that’s crazy. Such an actor waltz ! He only kissed his younger girl cause she is blond and blue eyes ( like hitler thoughts the best race is them) which is ironic as shoshana is the same and in reality the actress is Tunisian Jew and polish Jew😂. Also if we lied we would have been killed a lot forget Americans French British … people died during the second war not only Jews. Also my great uncle died for them.
Quiero recomendarte una gran película, se llama "Interestelar". Me acabo de suscribir y me encanta tu canal hermano.
He already watched it on his other channel
I don’t recall. When exactly!?

Like 100! This is one of my favorites of Tarantino's. You've gotta watch Hateful 8 too!
Fun fact(IIRC): In the scene where Hans(Waltz) is strangling Bridget(Kruger), those hands are actually Tarantino's. Kruger agreed to it, but tarantino briefly, actually strangled her. And it was 1 take.
Great movie
It was BRILLIANT!!
18:05 I think you meant nazi?
Dev, love your reactions my friend, but you need to sort out your levels. I can hardly hear what you're reacting to but when I turn it up it becomes really loud, when you get all fired up, or the ads kick in.
I have to say, it is quite disappointing and wince worthy to see your lack of knowledge about these topics
But your bald head with beard looks badass
So i guess that counters the cringe
Did you glue that goatee to your face?
Still bro
Hmm
