Do you need to heat seal before using a primer? I'm having trouble with keeping the layers together after heat sealing, I get seems, so I dremeled over it again...
You should heat treat your foam with a heat gun before painting and priming your foam. I typically do it as my very first step before cutting out parta and if I sand anything, I only do a very light heat on the surface after. Too much heat on the foam that has been glued, will cause the glue to reactivate and come apart. Hope this helps ☺️

nope, need to use a heat gun to get the correct heat
What is the benefit of heat treating the foam?
Foam is very porous and the heat gun will shrink the pours down. This will make it so when you go to prime/paint the foam, that it will stay on the surface rather than be absorbed into the foam. It will make the surface of the foam smoother and help to reduce the oils on the surface which also helps with painting ☺️
