Both lights are modern classics they are just both that good. The MH20 out throws the ZL by a good margin and has a tight well defined hot spot while the ZL is an awesome flooder. As for stepping down both lights are thermally regulated. The ZL also has potted electronics
Thanks, how's the step down functionality? The SC600 L2 switches to the lowest mode if the battery runs out or it's too hot. I have also the Thrunite TN12 which is the best to not stepping down too much. How about the MH20? I think I can use the SC600 L2 about 30-45 minutes in high mode before automatic step down to low. The TN12 is more in running time, easily over an hour in high mode!
