Dropper Loop Pegboard in Minutes using Colors - Animated

  • The Dropper Loop is the strongest for thin fishing lines - strong and easy and ready in one minute. Getting the desired length between the dropper loops sometimes requires a Jedi master.
    Setting up this pegboard after you understand how the knots form, takes minutes - and you can produce an assembly line of leader lines of the same length and keep rolling.
    Surf fishing Pompano, bait fish, or make your own Sabiki rig. I use it on deep sea dropper lines as well.
    Just get the "red" and "blue" pegboard measurements right and you're all set to go.

    I've watched this video many times and this is the first time I see the funny ending. Very insightful scientific presentation. The red line segment blew me away. Nice family, God Bless.

    Amazing how you suspended that 2 lb fish in the air with a .3mm line with the rod bending like that at 10:22.. I'm sold, dropper loop setup for me. Thanks, very inventive and clear.

    Accurate-geometric-assembly line-scientific-fishing gear to measure... loved the impressive scientific geometric approach. You left the good stuff to the middle and end, which was like a who-done-it ending, but I suppose we have to learn the knots first.... As always your endings are hilarious.... Thanks for sharing.

    Great idea for engineers, a real time demonstration would be nice. Loved your fresh fish at the end. you're meant to weigh the fish when they're dead dude! :-)

    So I've been experimenting with droppers and find that making the loop and the length between loops requires voodoo. Any tips to standardize 2 loops evenly spaced and same size loop would be appreciated. I did make a peg board and still can't standardize everything. The dimensions are always off 1/2 inch to 2,3, 4 or more inches. Thanks!

    Nice colors, but you never shared the distance from each nail to the next... you showed the length of your rig, but how far apart are the dowels to get to the rig length?

    HI. At the start, you mentioned an internet knot. Is that a dropper loop where you just cut one end? I've been looking for that knot for a while if it is is.Thanks!

      Science Club - Kids and Parents --- You can absolutely control the exact lengths of your dropper line. Actually, that was the whole purpose of making this video after we studied how the line moves while forming the knots. Watch the video from minute 8:36 - the color coding gives you what spans are left in your lines between the knots after tightening. - The RED span is what you need most and it is controlled by the distance between the two nails at either end of the RED line and becomes the length between your loop knots.- The BLUE span is the length of your dropper loop- The WHITE span goes to your sinker- The YELLOW span to your snap/swivel
      So just pre-measure what you need on the board and place your nails making sure that the BLUE loop length (both lines of the loop together) is shorter than half the red so your hooks don't catch each other. For a two-loops line, I recommend:RED : 12 inches or 30 cmBLUE: 4 inches or 10 cm after tying the hook, this works if you thread your hook on the full loop and also gives you enough line if you cut the loop and tie the hook to a single line, in this case, it is easier to use a Snell knot for the hook since you can control the length of the dropper lineWHITE: the sinker side - 14 inches or 3 cm - I like to keep the sinker away from the hooks so it doesn't spook fishYELLOW: Snap/Swivel side - 12 inches. and I use the smallest snap/swivel my fingers can handle.
      Also very important:1. is to keep a wet sponge so you can wet your fingers and wet the line where the knots form while on the nails/pegs2. Pull the dropper ends down gently and harder to the side while forming the dropper loop knot - watch from minute 7:20 - pulling down keeps the knot in place while to the side tightens it....Science works... Good luck fishing....

    Do you really need 11 to 12 wraps for a dropper loop? Seems excessive?

    • @ScienceClubKidsandParents
      @ScienceClubKidsandParents  6 років тому

      Jpgundarun - you would need less turns for thicker lines, but remember 12 turns on the loop corresponds to 6 turns on each side. This will be necessary when you cut the loop to use one line to tie to the hook, especially with thinner lines and for finicky shallow fishing in daylight.

    Whats the big deal of a 2lb fish on .3mm line....that's usually #10 line and with a dropper loop it's still around #5 test......

    I like the idea of a peg board for ease of use. I dislike your choice of 70s gay porn music. Also dislike the FIVE ads on this video. If you're that hard up for cash, perhaps you should look into full time employment or maybe more content. Again, great idea, sucky presentation.

    • @ScienceClubKidsandParents
      @ScienceClubKidsandParents  7 років тому +3

      :o).... Ha Ha... Assumptions, assumptions: Not familiar with 70's gay porn, its the royalty-free music from UA-cam. FIVE ads for experimentation with internet income, I am an accomplished engineer/manager parent always fully employed. Would love to add more content and have quite a few ideas but time does not always allow (remember, fully employed). sorry about the sucky presentation, I tried to be absolutely clear. If you're fishing using this pegboard, just remember the red section of the line at minute 08:50 as it is the key to a good leader line. My turn? you must be a parent, still with young children, and your avatar logo is neither a ninja turtle nor alien, so you're not near being a grand parent like me as I must have missed this character. you pretend to look after your children, but really you want to keep playing with them! :o)

      @@ScienceClubKidsandParents I agree with Sailor John Boy's point about the awful music, even if he didn't put it over very well. The Peg board is a great idea, clearly presented, but would have been SO much better with a commentary as opposed to the electronic noise! I fail to understand why it has been such a common practice on UA-cam to present vidoes with Music & no speech. No wonder the human race is losing the ability to communicate. The best youtube channels are those that don't use music.
