That's one of the things I love about her. She CAN do it all well, but she also loves everything she is doing. I mean it might sound weird but...when she dances or sings she does it perfectly. When there is a love scene she does it perfectly. Gymnastics, sword fighting? She does it perfectly...

I have to agree that this one is definitely at least as good as the Broadway show (or better depending on the Broadway cast). I think a lot of credit goes to the casting of CZJ in this AND the director.

This coreography is soooo much better than what they do in the broadway show. AND she takes up more space on stage than they do in the broadway version, even though a movie has the benefit of a close up camera. It bafffles me how Velmas on Broadway sort of just dance in one place by comparison wheras CTJ clearly moves from one side to the other for each respective part. Makes such a better visual effect of doing a two person dance with just one person. Brava!!

But you never know, both her kids are adults now so she may want to get back into musicals. Once a MT performer, ALWAYS an MT performer.

she's so cute and this isn't even like full out rehearsal and she still had long hair here....I read an article/interview that said they wanted her character to have long hair but she wanted it in a bob because she wanted everyone to see that it was her the entire time doing all the singing and dancing and she was worried if she had long hair that got in her face people would think it was a double (I edited my comment to reflect that she didn't actually cut her hair in a bob, because she just had it styled in a bob wig)

oh woww I did not know that! I daresay that the short hair suited her even more for the role. It has a very distinct sexy minx look, along with the makeup, the outfits, her beautiful seductive eyes, all these things would've been shadowed by long hair. It also goes along with the old hollywood, roaring 2020's flapper girl aesthetic!

She was not pregnant. Are you crazy? She could've miscarried if so. This movie was filmed well over 1 and a half yrs before she got pregnant. By the time she received an Oscar she was almost due to give birth of course.
