You know what I love about this clip the most? Sean Connery doesn't read her out like she's just another name on the list. He simply calls her "Catherine." He's presenting that award to a friend, you can hear it in his voice.
Oh, you're lucky the man, can't hear you anymore, because lord knows ne was the ultimate Scotsman, lifelong member of the Scottish National Party to bring forward the independence, and has never referred to himself as a Brit. But as Catherine said here they were "fellow Celts", which they actually referred to each-other a lot since they shot _Entrapment_ together. She used the same words in her speech for Sean at his Kennedy Center Honors. @@MDiaB900
There's something really refreshing about Queen Latifah's attitude. Nice to see someone supportive of her colleague and gracious in defeat. She's the kind of person who's grateful for just being nominated. I hope she wins an Oscar someday - Not just a great actress, but also a fantastic all round entertainer.
Jahangir Hussain Nah.. She's great, but I think there are handful of actresses who can portray as good, if not better, than what she did (Bebe Neuwirth, as example).. And yeah, she's great in this film, but no one will ever beat Chita Rivera...
CZJ nailed it! And she took a risk playing Velma Kelly--she's usually such a lovely Welsch rose. Renée did very well, but she usually plays timid and soft-spoken characters anyway.

She is so gorgeous and talented! She was actually a few months pregnant while filming Chicago and was 9 months at this time, she gave birth 10 days later!
Luckily there hasn't been any "I think I'm in labour!" moments during an acceptance speech at the Oscars. Still, this is a nice story for Catherine to share with her daughter Carys. "You were there with me when I won!"
Brief moment of entrapment. Btw agree with her on 2003 being a fantastic year for actresses, so many brilliant, iconic performances. Renee, Catherine and Queen in Chicago (which also had countless unforgettable female extras), Nicole, Meryl and Julianne in The Hours with Meryl going solo in Adaptation and Julianne in Far from Heaven, Selma Hayek in Frida, and more.
