this channel is gold. there are so many topics you could cover. I'd really like to understand how the wheelbase, truck height etc ... modify the dynamics of the board. Ben Degros, with his youtube channel, has often analyzed these aspects heuristically. my autism would be thrilled to see these topics from an analytic point of view.
You have the most interesting and original skate channel i have seen so far on UA-cam. Explaining tricks from a total different perspective, and i mean really explaining them! Keep it up and greetings from cold and rainy/snowy Germany.
This dude brings the science to the tricks I’ve been trying explain to family and friends that either don’t skate or are learning to skate. Needed you anywhere between 15-20 years ago (when I was learning fundamental tricks)
How have I not found this channel sooner!? I love seeing the animations. It’s such a great way to envision a trick without having to land it a thousand times on camera and it will always be clean unlike in real life (props on you for having irl footage also I’m well aware of how difficult solo filming is even if it’s just a shuv). The animations also really make it more understandable and just change the way you think about the Physics of skating.
I remember just under 2 weeks ago this channel only had 500 subs and now its up to 5k! Very well deserved; one of the best channels I have ever seen on here.
I started skating late 90's early the year 2000's. I had all these issues you mentioned, but I figured it out back in the days that if I pop like an ollie, placing my foot at the top of the tail, right in the middle, pop it hard and scoop it at the same time, the board wouldn't flip or go away. It worked for me and helped to clear out obstacles.
Finally a channel that matches my learning style. I hope you can breakdown ollies one day. I was told My ollies opening frontside was because of my shoulders turning. Everywhere I go and look up the only reason i can find is my shoulders. But i believe there is more to the story (front foot angles, overpop, hips)
This! Please Ollie as next trick in depth. I still struggle to get an Ollie and keeping the momentum of rolling. I think this could be due to my slow speed, but I think the deconstruction could help further. 🤓
I'm very good a pop shove-its and can do them really high, and I have always found that popping from the spot where he pops in this video causes a ton of problems. I always pop from the exact center of the end of the tail and that makes it so the board never flips, and is also the secret to getting them really high. I also give it a little forward nudge (forward as in the way that I'm rolling) with my back foot during the pop and that helps me keep it centered when doing them high in the air.
Agreed! I've only watched just this first one but, to the person who made this channel.. Your way to being a well paid UA-cam channel if u continue to cover EVERY SINGLE TRICK YOU CAN!!!
Thank you for watching as always. Question: so many people have been asking for clips about heelflips and bs180s. WHY??? It’s not kickflip or fs180. Can anyone academically explain this? 😎
i guess humans feel more safe moving/turning towards what they can see. bs180 you jump and turn like behind. and i think there is multiply ways how you can do them, i love them. And why heelflips, i guess people are more stuck to the kickflips and neglect practicing heelflips.
Can you do a video on ollies? I am new to skateboarding and I am starting to understand the mechanics behind the ollie, but I'd love to see you explain it!
I'd like to see what tends to go wrong when adding height/speed like with gaps and stairs, also breaking down how to hit handrails and straighten out to fakie or reg
one of the best small skate channels on UA-cam I subscribed to you when you were at 500 subs and now your are already ant 5k in like 3 weeks! this is crazy also your website is amazing super cool animation and description this a amazing for any beginner with difficulties. This is a great channel
can you please do ollie next? I have just started skating and would like to see a scientific breakdown of the trick. maybe you could also do a scientific breakdown/tutorial on how to fall it sounds kind of dumb but I find myself slamming into the ground from every tiny pebble. I love your videos and find myself learning a lot even though I can't do any of the tricks. keep up the hard work
I really miss skating Japan. Because of corona I can't move to work :( but theres so many spots in tokyo i want to skate p.s. can you make a video on heelflips? It's tough for me to land. Thanks.
This is good stuff . Wonder if you ever thought of making one on mastering the oli . Like is there a different when attempting to get higer pops or when doing a gap 🤔
Can you do a nollie late flip Ive very good nollie but I can get the flick. Almost 4 years I try to battle this trick but Doesnt seem to get close enough.
If anyone is having trouble with the board flipping, try popping from the very center of the tail instead of where he is putting his foot. I have always found that to work much better for various reasons but it also stops the board from flipping.
lol it's really good to see someone does it in a totally different way. i personally don't really like that placement though. it kinda feels sticky. anyway, it must be interesting to compare different foot placements. thanks for insight!
Very interesting analysis again and am looking forward to part 2. However, I feel like the first three minutes of intro were too much and you repeated yourself.
wunderful video again..pop shove its. i love them and i hate them.. in this year i broke three "new" decks while doing popshove its, and why that, because of the weight distribution and jumping. i land often on the nose with my front and in the middle with my backfoot. And me being 85-88kg. well you can imagine :D.
I always give it a little forward nudge (forward as in the way that I'm rolling) with my back foot during the pop and that helps me keep it centered when doing them high in the air.
@@whythetrick Sry I read this very late, but I was struggling for a while with pop shuv's since they always flipped and I land primo, and then I saw someone do a very nice popshuv at our skatespot, then I tried to mimic the position and I couldn't miss it. Basically I now stand as if I want to do a kickflip and push my popping foot behind me and towards the nose, stretch my front foot as if you catch a treflip and you'll catch it pretty well. It's like a treflip motion but don't hook ur board with ur toes.
I’ve always had an easier time doing pop shuv its using my nose as a tail. If I use the tail the board does half a kickflip like the video talks about it.
@@whythetrick nollie shuv is like the easiest shuv cuz you don’t have to pop it but actually I wasn’t talking about nollie or fake but just the board turned around.

This is the best skateboarding channel on UA-cam. Excited to see you progress.

A little tip would be to use your front foot to catch the board and it helps it from trying to flip.

this is hands down, the best skateboarding channel that ever was! I hope to god you make a bs 180 video at some point
Thank you! Planning to talk about bs180s after pop shove its.
yo, in my opinion this is the best trick tip content out there, keep going, actually a new and fresh look at how things work

It’s not kickflip or fs180.
Can anyone academically explain this? 😎
i can bs180 but not consistently. I’d like to just understand the foot positioning and have a better understanding of the trick and rotation overall
bs 180 are normally harder as well as heel flips but it depends on your style and I know more beginners that can fs 180
@@ffcsk8801 think so, too.

Could you do a video on impossibles? This series is amazing at describing tricks in detail.
impossibles will definitely be interesting one. thank you for the suggestion!

Ayy I’ve been waiting for this one
This one's nothing though. Working on to deeper explanations. Please wait a bit more...
Not everyone thinks about problem solving like this, but for people like me that do think this way, this is gold!
Man i love your channel, top tier content. Could you please make a video on fs shove its or hardflips? I think they would make a cool video
Thank you. Will work on them.
Great series by far! It's winter cold and rainy but I want to skate now!!! Thx^^
amazing content! it´s giving me a new understaing, very much appreciated. thanks
You are very welcome. Merry Christmas!
I love your channel!! Please do No Comply or No Comply 180s
thank you very much. no comply 180s would be really interesting. but it's not as "catchy" as other ones. let's see....
Like the videos. Very helpful and original, too. I'm also curious to know what flip tricks you have in your arsenal?
Such a sick channel. Thank you
You should do a video on the pressure flip, most people just say you have to “feel it” but I want to see the physics
absolutely correct. will be talking about that soon.
This is amazing!
thank you.
it doesnt mean anything if not for subscribers like you
Thank you for those videos! Can you also make one about the ollie?
Ollies will have to wait. Sorry!
It helped me stupendously!!!

Thank you!
You should do fs pop shuvs after this trick. Hell, you should do every trick!
another great video!
Good job

Can you do one of these for dropping in on a ramp?
I could try but I don’t even want to think about making a 3D model for that…
