- Here is a little song that came to me during the night of summer solstice. A little kulning (ancient swedish herdingcall) together with my very first try on the beautiful ancient instrument Nyckelharpa, that i just got.
I am totally new to it, so the tones might be a little bit shaky and shy, but I so much look forward to learn to play it so that I can use it more for my music. I think that the combination of kulning and nyckelharpa is such a perfect match.

This month might be the most magical time of the year, with the dancing mist and the midnight sun. It's something very special in the air, so this is a little tribute to June and the summer solstice. I hope enjoy it! ♥

She is literally a modern day Middle Earth elf. Absolutely stunning.
There is many people like her here, she is just very conservative. Wanting to move out on the countryside, focus on family etc. She wears traditional nordic clothes and sings that nordic Kulning, a form to herd cows but yet a song and she plays that harp. She's actively trying to hold our old traditions and customs alive, this is what sets her apart from other women to me.
But she's no the only one, many more like her exist here, just as beautiful and even more beautiful. One day my dream is to move out and have a family in the woods just like this, like she is doing. She is basically living out my life dream and that makes me really happy to see that someone can do that :)

my sense of balance wanes as i hear her songs, i do not know why but it seems to relax the spirit and mind yet the body doesnt rest

It's beautiful. I am from Belarus, but the Nordic "theme" is very close to me. Looking at this atmosphere and environment, I see many similarities between our countries. Very beautiful, the melody is fascinating
Hey, speaking of Belarus. I had never heard of your country until I went on the internet. 3 years ago I was looking for a mother of the bride dress for my son's wedding. And the lady that I ordered the beautiful dress from was from Belarus. So I paid her and she shipped me the dress it was so beautiful. And many people paid me compliments at the wedding.

But many people could never have the luck or the family connections or the means to live such a rare and wonderful life. Many would feel too humble to flex on social media about being so lucky. But it gets lots of followers and in turn makes alot of cash.

I grew up without a forest, without an ocean, without any body of water I can reflect my life on. I never saw the sun pass through branches of trees. This video is what I always needed.
I am very said of this. I now live in a large city; however it has large parks and forests nearby. I find after several months of not being in the forest I must go there.

My best companion ever, my cat, my little Buddy, died on the full Moon of 2019 Midsummer Eve, aka summer solstice. I found him abandoned in the mountains and for the next 20 years I didn't know how much he would teach me, and how much I could learn to love unconditionally. Words can't express how much I miss him. He'd like this melody, and I feel close to him during this magical time. "It's okay little Baba, I am always here... it's okay."

Although I live in Australia and our forests are pretty different from ones in Sweden, your videos make me think of the time I’ve spent in forests, with the tall trees and the sunlight and the fresh morning air, and the smell of leaves and woodsmoke on the wind.

It's been a hard night for me for a number of reasons - the singing and resonance of the nyckelharpa have this haunting yet comforting melody that touches me deeply. It's just been so hard for me lately and this little tune brings a little bit of comfort that I really need. Thank you for this, I've been listening to it many times over the past day or so. I really hope 2024 is better...

Farewell? I don't speak Swedish, despite my 2nd Great Grandad and Grandma ..and every generation before, of both of their's to at least the 1600's.. being Swedish.
They immigrated here to Australia, where my Great Grandad was born.
It's literally days after the Summer Solstice, so they'll have way more daylight hours than night up there for quite a while. Not until Autumn at the earliest, will the sun be obviously 'going away', to say "Farewell" etc.

How can one person have so many talents??...singing, Kulning, playing instruments, dancing, painting, photography, making jewellery, rock balancing, renovating...is there anything you can't do Jonna?..or are all Swedish people so talented? We had one Swedish girl in our school and she led all the music workshops, choirs, dramas, and won all the beauty contests!..and her father was the professor of art and music at the local university
