Today with computer manufacturing to 1/10,000ths, every guitar is now fully playable. If you want to pay more for exotic woods and appearance stuff, then fine, but the gap btw cheap guitars and high end guitars isn't nearly what people think it is.

So funny, it reminds me of the infomercials where it's some weight loss supplement, and the "before and after" photos looked like they had a day of tanning and sucked their gut in. Of course a Hughes & Kettner is going to sound good when you play a screaming riff through it with a Gibson LP PAF. Especially playing a limp wristed stutter-step chord progression through the Roland or Boss or whatever. Next you've got to play a Van Halen lick on the Cort through a Klon into a Dumble.

Stay in tune? Nut cut correctly? Do the notes perfectly fret? Are harmonics easy to pull off or do you have to work your ass off to pull them off? Exactly. Cheap gear is fine but I can't stand the people that will compare a cheap guitar to a high-end guitar and say it's just as good. It's not.

I disagree. I think it would be easier to really tell the difference if you were there playing it. With those cheap single coils for example, you'd have to play way harder because of the low output. I know this because a shitty Stratocaster and garbage practice amp is what I started out with and it made certain licks harder to play because I had to strum harder.

Honestly they all sounded decent. At the end of the day, cheap and expensive don't matter. It's preference really. This rabbit hole of "The search for tone" is pointless mainly because there are SO many factors and situations, and ECT., ECT., that contribute to tone. I mean all the down to the amount of tiny particles of dust that are on your fretboard lol. My brother gave me a beginner mini strat he bought for like a hundred bucks and i use it to this day. It plays and feels fantastic. Honestly there should be a government funded lab of scientists specifically hired to just search for tone all day. Then they can make pie charts and spread sheets so us players can dial in and pinpoint our tones with dynamite accuracy. "Hold on guys, lemme pull out my tone data sheet so I can dial in". Could you imagine

Not the best comparison (guitar wise) single coil and humbuckers sound so different. But either way the main reason to buy an expensive amp, is a mix of build quality, clean sound quality, and versatility. And i mean when you buy an instrument, is the most important thing not how it feels to play, how it looks, and how long it lasts.

What is special about this version, besides the colour and finish, is that the volume and tone knobs are NOT push/pull. I also like the sound and looks of the 1961 Zebra nacked pick-ups. I also just bought, about a week ago, the Vox AC30 amplug 2, to have a better and different sound then with my old Fender Rad amp that i use for the last 28 years or so. The other guitar that i have and used, for as long as the Fender Rad amp, is an Ibanez 2451NT. So, eventualy, the next step will be to upgeade the amp part of my stuff. Meanwhile i keep practicing since i have my new guitar, because i am an eternal begginer who is going to persevere for once, after all those years "playing" only once in a while.
