Very nice...Love the Hellcat from 1/144th scale to actual airplane. This model carries the markings of the USS San Jacinto (CVL-30) the ship on which my dad served during World War ll. Very nice model.
You dad was on a light carrier in the war? I've been reading Ian Tolls Pacific War trilogy, and it's given me a new found respect for the men that fought the war. I bet he had some amazing stories
Very nice !! My favorite warbird.
Hard to beat those Grumman cats! 😼
Beautiful Hellcat.. Great job on the details.. Can't wait to get mine back in the air..
An incredible job done. looks fantastic..
Beautiful Hellcat , I have an ESM with the cat face nose art. To bad the US Navy did not allow any nose art on there planes. Pilots did so of there own doing. Army air corps did.
Beautifully built F6. IIRC...that beast weighs in at something like 53lbs...which is Hugely overweight...but it carries the weight well...and I bet it handles the wind really well too.
+DON RICE Wait, it weighs 53 lb?? dang, that is heavy for this bird! It didn't seem to fly heavy though.
Hi Don, do you know what the Hellcat is using for power? I'm getting ready to start one myself. I'm leaning toward a DLE 85cc. 53 pounds? Guess I'm gonna have to start working out.
I am pretty sure the power plant on that Hellcat is a zenoah GT 80 twin. If you go with a DLE 85, you will have MORE than enough power.
***** Don would definitely know how best to power this bird. IF you'd like to know exactly what's in this airplane specifically, let me know and I should be able to find out (I can get in touch with the builder/owner).
Just beautiful! My dad worked for Grumman for 35 years and he took the kids to the amazing company picnics at Calverton. They brought in Hellcats,a Bearcat, even a Spitfire...and since Grumman built their jets the Blue Angels always dropped in❤
great work
Time for a new runway that things looks rough
Yeah, that runway at the time was gnarly! I think it's been resurfaced since then.
@@Thercgeek I was worried about nose over watching this
Why no crash?
