Anyone else got shocked when they were playing this game for their first time then got shocked about how red is the final pokemon trainer yo beat? Or is it just me?
Requestedpie I dunno, I sometimes wish gamefreak would stop telling you who their next Pokémon sent out is, for the mind games but at the same time I don't
Red is not Ash, but Ash is based off of him. -Both from Pallet -Same Pokemon lineup from that time period -Look the same Only difference is that Red became the champion and is a fucking badass.
***** I can also go in for hours. - Ash went through all regions in the game and was only be the champion of one of them. - Sure Ash is a good person, but he isn't a strong nor smart trainer. - Ash makes the "Gotta catch them all" useless. - Red when captured all Kanto pokes, he trained them so they could fully evolve meaning that he actually trained his pokes instead of leaving his friendship he done over the time he's been with them. - When he "pleasure the professor" he is doing a huge work for without asking anything as exchange, making him a good person. - Red appears in B2/W2 meaning that he went back to society and a normal life. - Ash enemies are to rocked grunts who can't do anything right... they are just equal as Ash. - Red's enemies tried to hurt or might even try to kill Red. - Ash is never able to overcome his challenges, he's is only able to win by pure bullshit. - Red faced 4 legendarys and captured them all befriended and raised them. - What's the matter when you use different kinds of pokeballs. - Ash only battle other Criminal organisations because the show needs to go on. - If Red were only there to complete the dex he wouldn't have tried to become the champion. - "Red thought that pokemons were tools of war." If he really though that he would have joined team rocket at the beginning when he is asked to. - Red started as a normal guy and ended up as a legendary trainer, but Ash was "teh chusen wone", meaning if he was a normal trainer he wouldn't be able to bullshit his way to winning.
- Red yelled at his Charizard because he is the spirit and heart of his team and he is the one responsible if his pokes loses, with Red's spirit and training his Charizard defeated a Rock type pokemon... while Ash Charizard sleeped in the battle. - "Red is only allowed to do certain things, like use one Pokemon move, then let the opponent go." That's how the game works and I understand that the anime had to it's adaptations. - "Ash had many strategies." My Ass!! Ash lost against a Darkrai when he had a Heracross on his team, and Heracross carried sleeptalk. - "Ash takes his time" Sure over 800 episodes and still nothing of gotta catch them all. - Ash using only Pokeballs doesn't make him any better... What is ASAP anyway? - "It isn't right to capture Legendaries." There are other trainers in the anime that has one or more legendarys... - "Red is a bunch of pixels" Ash too... - "Ash is connected with pokemon by heart" Sure, that's why he leaves them. Don't think I'm talking this with hate, I'm loving this conversation so far.
In Pokemon Sun and Moon Red also doesn't seem to care much for the fact when he does lose to the main trainer at the battle tree, due to him only having "..." instead of "...!", probably character development on how he doesn't mind losing as he probably would as a kid, and also because he has a belly drum Charizard so he was a competitive player at least once and got his ass kicked so often at first XD
well there is a possible theory as to why he had that reaction he really did not expect to lose but i have a feeling deep down he maybe hoped this person could beat him. why because of one of 2 things. red may have been testing gold and not using his full strength because he could sense how strong he was. or red was about ready to give up because he felt overwhelmed by his quest to complete the pokedex since he thought there were only 150 pokemon but then went to go find mew and tracked him to this cave and then saw alll the new pokemon he had never seen before and it just overwhelmed him and he was ready to give up and then this trainer comes and wants to fight him and for the first time in his life probably(with the possible expection of maybe blue beating you twice) red gets beaten and learns how to be humble and understand that sometimes you can lose a battle and that sometimes a loss can make you stronger and porbably decides to also take gold as his appereince which gives him something to give him hope and not feel overwhelemed by all the new pokemon that can be disscovered.
I could not find an episode where they say pikachus level and even if their is a level system it is different from the games beacuse some ashs strong pokemon do not evolve no matter how strong they are
Jared sd the anime does use a level system, in the dub at least, episode 9 they mention pidgey levels, what i can't remember is pikachu's level [edit] just rewatched it's at episode 9, a girl from the school says pikachu should be at least lvl 25
Kind of unfair how you can just switch Pokemon to whatever type will beat Red's. If Red could do the same the fight would be more fair and more interesting.
He does change Pokémon when he needs to. For example, he took out Venusaur (just like he did in this video) so I took out Typhlosion. He changed it to Blastoise... He had Pokémon left.
does anyone else realize this is a 10 (or 12 cant remember) year old kid on top of the highest mountain with no warm clothes, no food, no water, or anything? this KID is on the most dangerous part of the kanto region. it is insane. it makes me wonder... what if that isnt red, and gold is just hallucinating? what if he isnt even on that mountain at all? i dont know. its just weird...
If he brought a supply of food he could easily survive. His Blastoise can produce water and Charizard warmth. And there goes Venasaur not doing shit again. CMON VENASAUR WHAT DO YOU DO.
Stop comparing Red to Ash!! Red completed the Pokedex and won the Pokemon league! Ash catches maybe up to 10 Pokemon each region he goes to which still doesn't add up to the amount of Pokemon Red has caught. Red beat the Pokemon league, not just some crappy orange islands league. That doesn't even count cause it was made up for the show. If Reds Pokemon are in the level 80's in the second generation then they would be without a doubt level 100 by the X and Y series. In a battle between Red and Ash. Red would win based on level alone. Ash doesn't keep them long enough to get to level 100. Use the logic on their levels. He wouldn't win! Red is the master! Not to mention, all he would have to do is put Mew Two in his team and Ash would lose without even laying a hit.
Missed opportunity: We all know Red's team: Pikachu, Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Snorlax, and Lapras. Well that shouldn't be always the case. In the regular Nintendo DS, you use the GBA slot to transfer Gen 3 Pokemon to Gen 4 Pokemon games. Well FR/LF, after you get the Hall of Fame (and also Sevii islands), you should connect the one of the games to the DS and have HG or SS in the DS slot. When you are at the game Menu, there should be an option that says "Face Original Team" or something like that. So, at the end, instead of facing Red regular team, you would face the Pokemon you used to beat FR/LF in high levels...
He says he started off with a Bulbasaur in the description, when really he started with a pikachu in yellow. The kanto Starters was a gift from other people.
Matthew Davidson "Oh well whoop the fucking doo to you! You win, well fuck you then! *Flips up finger and jumps off cliff*" I can imagine that being Red's dialogue if pokemon was PG
The score for this battle is brilliant. It really suits the epic clash between the region's top two Pokemon Masters. This is one of my favorite moments in the entire franchise.
Wouldn't Red's Pokemon be the the Pokemon he used to beat the Pokemon League? I think he used Charizard, Jolteon, Scyther, Lapras, Dodrio, and Persian. Meh, I have no idea.
I remember stumbling into red when i was 11 in the original silver. Best personal experience on any pokemon game i've ever had. The music , the battle, and the fact that the first pokemon he threw out wasa lv 88 Pikachu. Even though the name states Red, we all liked to envision it as Ash. Back in the day completing this battle mean you were the very best, like no one ever was...
Cheap...you probably would have lost if you didn't have the switch feature on. That feature is so much BS I disable it every time I start a Pokemon file you should never be told what Pokemon your opponent is about to use.
Red from the manga and games are different counterparts. Even if they have the same name and almost similar Pokemon teams, they aren't the same people. I know my stuff.
not really, HGSS are full of flaws, a terrible level curve, most of johto pokemon being terrible and having to grind on pokemon (explains why basically almost every johto leader uses kanto pokemon) that are like a fourth of your level too, and extremely grindy meanwhile sun and moon are completely enjoyable, its actually not that terrible to grind, level curves are fine and overall less of a mess
The anime was based on the games not the Pokemon Adventures manga. Besides Ash is essentially Red. Ash is Red's anime counterpart the same way Red from Adventures is Red's manga counterpart.
Am I the only one thinking that in the possible (and highly likely) sinnoh remakes will allow you to revisit the Johto reigon, and in turn the ability to fight Gold?
absol I don't find myself getting closer to them by doing it though. I like my Pokémon. What's the point? I know you wouldn't call a dog "dog", but that's different. They are not pets. I suppose they technically are, but I like them to have their species name. They already have a name. I remember the reason I nicknamed my Chikorita and Rattata was because their names were too long, and hard to pronounce. And once I pronounced them right, I decided "These nicknames suck". I'm changing their names back. Another thing, lets take his Tyranataur for example. he nicknamed it "Qwerty". What if someone says: "Hey! That's a cool Pokémon! I've never seen it before! What is it?" And he says: "Its a Qwerty". Seriously? Just call it by its real name if your gonna answer a question like that. And have you seen Chuggaaconroy's Pokémon playthroughs? Even though he nicknames their Pokémon, he still calls them by their real name. So really, there is no point, unless you can't pronounce its name and want it to have a nickname to pronounce it easier. Like me.
+James Ellis that's your opinion though, a lot of people will agree and like to nickname their Pokemon. I mean there is a point to nickname your Pokemon, it's to get a closer bond with them.
The only thing worse than people claiming that game characters are the same as anime characters, is when people claim they're the same as characters from the fucking Adventures manga.
About your note, I believe I read on Bulbapedia that Ash got his pikachu five years after Red came around. Thus, even in the story of the games, Red is not Ash, though it may be possible (especially because of Yellow) that Ash WAS once involved in the games themselves.
boohoo it's called gaming, none of this casual hold your hand bullshit that so many games suffer from today because they're trying to cater to the casual masses. Oh, you actually had to put a little bit of time and effort into beating a game and not have it just handed to you on a plate? Here's a newflash for you: easy games are boring.
Actually Red is the main character from Pokémon Yellow not the manga. You can tell it is from Yellow because he has the 3 starter which you can only get in Yellow.
Actually the starters are from Generation 1 in general, not just Yellow. Charizard, Venusaur, and Blastoise are starters you can get in Red, Blue, Yellow, FireRed, LeafGreen, X, and Y. Red is from both the manga and the games.
Yellow was made to promote the Anime. Doesn't mean it is canon. Red likely got his starter, got some of the Pokemon on his team and then he gets the other starters via trading or something.
Am I the only one who's slightly infuriated by the fact that Red in this version is far, far, more watered down and pathetic in comparison to the version from the original Gold and silver? I mean, I know back then IVs weren't a thing and now people can get max IVs on pokemon to obliterate, but I feel like Red should have some 31 IV maxed out pokemon, like seriously.
There should be an easy, medium, and hard option for all pokemon games like pretty much every other RPG. As the newer games release it just gets easier and easier. An idea for medium and hard could be disabling the shift function in battle making the battles like online. Also on hard they could jack up all the enemy pokemon IVs and all bosses' EVs on top of that. The dumbing down of these games is both annoying and insulting.
Lyssandre doesn't even have a full team and his pokemon are fucking levEL 50 OHMAHGUD SO FAKIN WEAK! LOOK AT FACKING TEAM GALACTIC AND DIANTHA IS JUST SOME FASHION BITCH WHO'S EASIER THAN MARLON (AKA A GYM LEADER)
Man takes me back to when I was in first grade, got really hyped getting to the point of versing THE trainer red himself and playing Pokémon without a days worry, now I am entering freshmen year in high school and I wish I could go back to those days :(
That's the character you used in leaf green and fire red. I actually had a level 80 pikachu with me when I first beat leaf green, I gave it and ever stone so it wouldn't evolve.
the final setting of this match has improved greatly from GSC... on the top of mt.silver in a hailstorm outsie-whereas most important battles in the game take place indoors) and GSC was still freaking epic in the basement of the cave!
+duy tiến bùi. In the main anime, Blues counterpart Gary has a Blastoise. In Pokemon Origins (produced by Gamefreak/Nintendo), Blue has a Blastoise. In Pokemon Generations (also produced by Gamefreak/Nintendo), Blue has a Blastoise. The only media where Blue has a Charizard is Pokemon Adventures which is entirely independent from Gamefreak/Nintendo. If Blue has a canon starter, its definitely Blastoise.
I like how GameFreak wanted to make Red like Ash bc Red basically has all the same Pokemon Ash does in the anime: Pikachu, Charizard, Blastiose (Squirtle), Venasaur (Bulbasaur), Snorlax, and Lapras
But that was basically the pokemon yellow team. Who doesn't want the starters AND a pikachu? And that snorlax and lapras came because of the snorlax blocking the road and the lapras given to you.
Spencer McKnight Right I know, but his team was created in heart gold/soul silver which came after Ash and the anime. I was just trying to make a point there. In my opinion, I don't think they based red's team off of Ash's. He has all of the starters, and the lapras and snorlax like the reasons stated above^ The Pikachu, Idk. Ash probably had the same pokemon for the same reason, so they are based off of each other in a way. The only difference is one is the champion, and one is still struggling to beat a league.
Did you read a word of what I wrote above? You know what? I'll let Bulbapedia do the talking. Go ahead. Look up Red from Adventures. It will clearly stae that he is based off of Red's design.
dratini from the casino, or from the dragon cave behind the 8th gym in blackthorn... you can actually get a free dratini from talking to the old man in the hut at the back of the cave
Lmao the description. The manga never became an anime. They are seperate "canons/storylines. Red from Adventures and Ash from the anime are both based on the PLAYER character from Gen 1 not each other.
I think the reason that Red just disappeared like that was because he jumped off the mountain and commited suicide because he lost, after all he was on the edge of the mountain.
False. You still meet him in Black and White 2 and Sun and Moon. The real reason he disappeared? He used an escape rope and visited the Pokemon Center he last visited.
He was once a Champion. But I think he wants more than that, He goes to Mountain Silver for whatever reason we dont know what, probably training. He is now the Pokemon Master for all regions.
So Red has the time to stand on top of an extremely cold mountain and stare out at stuff, but he never has time to visit his own mother for however long it's been since the previous generation. Seems legit.
This isn't the Red from the Manga, it's the Red from Pokemon Yellow, who is based on Ash. That's why he has the starter Pokemon. If the manga were the source, blue would be a girl and Red's rival running the veridian city gym would be called Green.
I don't think I could live with myself if I named my starter bob.
Lmao XD
For Real Though. What kind of name is that for your starter pokemon

Professor Oak: Cuz fucker hes RED and hes better than u lmao

So true lol
When the Battle ended, Red had more of a reaction this time. "!" speaks volumes about the fact that he CERTAINLY didn't expect his being defeated.

Probably not, as he appears several days after you beat him.

I always wondered why red just dissapeared like that...
He jumped off of the cliff...
Matthew Davidson Rlly? Did gamefreak confirm that?
I dunno but he was probably so depressed from losing... 😀 😂 😀
Matthew Davidson "Oh well whoop the fucking doo to you! You win, well fuck you then! *Flips up finger and jumps off cliff*"
I can imagine that being Red's dialogue if pokemon was PG
Yup would be pretty savage...
The score for this battle is brilliant. It really suits the epic clash between the region's top two Pokemon Masters. This is one of my favorite moments in the entire franchise.
Are you still alive even 11 years later ?
@@victorwitt69But I am.
good job Steve!
Wouldn't Red's Pokemon be the the Pokemon he used to beat the Pokemon League? I think he used Charizard, Jolteon, Scyther, Lapras, Dodrio, and Persian. Meh, I have no idea.
Bro lol he named his Magneton Steve, I’m fucking crying
I remember stumbling into red when i was 11 in the original silver. Best personal experience on any pokemon game i've ever had. The music , the battle, and the fact that the first pokemon he threw out wasa lv 88 Pikachu. Even though the name states Red, we all liked to envision it as Ash. Back in the day completing this battle mean you were the very best, like no one ever was...
Cheap...you probably would have lost if you didn't have the switch feature on. That feature is so much BS I disable it every time I start a Pokemon file you should never be told what Pokemon your opponent is about to use.
Same
Red from the manga and games are different counterparts. Even if they have the same name and almost similar Pokemon teams, they aren't the same people.
I know my stuff.
There the same dumbass
One of the best battles in pokemon games
true, one of the reasons i loved soul silver
You don't get to be champion of the Pokémon league without knowing how to spam Full restores!
I wasn't alive in the 90's so I didn't get the authentic feel when fighting Red, but this will do.
Still better than the Sun and Moon version.
not really, HGSS are full of flaws, a terrible level curve, most of johto pokemon being terrible and having to grind on pokemon (explains why basically almost every johto leader uses kanto pokemon) that are like a fourth of your level too, and extremely grindy meanwhile sun and moon are completely enjoyable, its actually not that terrible to grind, level curves are fine and overall less of a mess
The anime was based on the games not the Pokemon Adventures manga. Besides Ash is essentially Red. Ash is Red's anime counterpart the same way Red from Adventures is Red's manga counterpart.
Red from adventures is red from the manga that's why it's called Pokemon adventures: Red chapter
+swaggy P_12 Yeah I know but what does that have to do with what I said?
Anime was based on...hell knows what. Manga was based on games.
Even though red is a champ and ash is a kid that is forever 10
+more alpha and that he keeps saying ............
Yellow was the best version to start off the game series
Do you mean I were lucky when I began with yellow ? =)
My eyes: steve grew to level 71
My brain: *steve intensifies*
Am I the only one thinking that in the possible (and highly likely) sinnoh remakes will allow you to revisit the Johto reigon, and in turn the ability to fight Gold?
Omg I hope that happens I will crush his ass with my mega infernape
I love Red's theme!
Who nicknames their Pokémon?
Me, I named my squirtle Bubblebutt on Pokemon go
I named a shinx on a pokemon game im making shanx
a lot of people do actually
absol I don't find myself getting closer to them by doing it though.
Either your capture card, or your emulator does not like translucent sprites.
While I like the challenge it's aggravating having to level grind just to have a chance at this guy.
i didn't do it,i just fought him with lvl 55s,pretty hard but possible :s
boohoo it's called gaming, none of this casual hold your hand bullshit that so many games suffer from today because they're trying to cater to the casual masses. Oh, you actually had to put a little bit of time and effort into beating a game and not have it just handed to you on a plate? Here's a newflash for you: easy games are boring.
You can beat him with 50s-60s
Actually Red is the main character from Pokémon Yellow not the manga. You can tell it is from Yellow because he has the 3 starter which you can only get in Yellow.
No it's defiantly Red from Yellow.
***** No, you don't. And his name is Blue.
Gary is his anime counterpart's name.
***** looooool what game have you been playing
+Yodabyte TehShyGuy Oh please. He has an even higher level cap. It's just the Pokemon and moves you have access to.
Lyssandre doesn't even have a full team and his pokemon are fucking levEL 50 OHMAHGUD SO FAKIN WEAK! LOOK AT FACKING TEAM GALACTIC AND DIANTHA IS JUST SOME FASHION BITCH WHO'S EASIER THAN MARLON (AKA A GYM LEADER)
the casual morons of today would complain if Red was too hard, that's why
@@HaZiiMeiSteR You already can disable the switching out
you can bet that snorlax has a fucking massive hp amount
Ture
Honestly a shame that there’s no magnetic field in HGSS so no Magnezone
It's sad to watch, at least GameFreak should have made a glitch that to a degree that made it more difficult to beat Red*!
me:Let's go red😎
red:(sent out pikachu)
me:OMG HOW DID YOU GET THAT😱
Lmao
Inky The Drawer you can catch pikachu in the wild
@@ox8o-is-so-cool his Pikachu has lighting ball item which is rare asf and enhances lighting attacks , also his Pikachu has volt tackle
Poor Red, he just wanted to be the very best....
Like no one ever was...
Brandon Slater To catch them was his real test..
Orionzilla - Gaming Videos
to train them was his cause...
TomDaxx He would travel across the land...
To find the power that was inside....
Urmm, you don't need the everstone
It was my first pokemon game, I know you can just press B now.
Pikachu evolves with a thunderstone :P
I know, the Everstone prevents evolution, which is what I wanted.
once again, IT WAS MY FIRST POKEMON GAME.
What a coincidence Ash had the exact pokemon as red
Ash doesn't have a Venusaur or blastoise
That lapras though!
Change the battle mode to set.... 🤔🤔🤔 bet you it won't be as easy lol
Man fuck no it's not easy. Played it on set all game twice still cant beat Red. No idea what battle mode: set meant until now lol
Mario Hernandez I didn't know what battle mode set meant so I had it on the whole game and got rekt by red
I beat Cynthia in Platinum on set mode with level 57 garchomp and other pokemon at level 45 and I only used 3 max revives
Ah gen 4 with the slow moving health bars making my palms sweat on whether it was a one hit ko or not
Pokemon: Where naming your kids after colours is acceptable xD
lmaoooooo steve the magneton!
To make it challenging, you can't switch out until after you sends someone in. Too easy when you switch right away
Moment Of Silence For The Times I Lost.
Pkmn Trainer Red you speak...?
You should call your mom sometime...
You are not the real Red, he doesn't talk
the final setting of this match has improved greatly from GSC... on the top of mt.silver in a hailstorm outsie-whereas most important battles in the game take place indoors)
and GSC was still freaking epic in the basement of the cave!
This is technically me defeating me after 3 years...
Red's first pokemon is Charmander not Bulbasaur
No. charmander is the first pokemon of Blue
Origins isnt actually the original. It is a remake and like all remakes changes were done.
TheBossGaming In the manga he chose bulbasaur
+duy tiến bùi. In the main anime, Blues counterpart Gary has a Blastoise. In Pokemon Origins (produced by Gamefreak/Nintendo), Blue has a Blastoise. In Pokemon Generations (also produced by Gamefreak/Nintendo), Blue has a Blastoise. The only media where Blue has a Charizard is Pokemon Adventures which is entirely independent from Gamefreak/Nintendo. If Blue has a canon starter, its definitely Blastoise.
the master
very smart...
How is red not cold standing on top of Mt. Silver all day...
Show THIS to your Pokemon Go friends. See what they think of this legendary fight and all their favorite mons in their true original battling form.
My level 100 Garchomp made short work of them all..
***** I dislike legendaries
and I support discipline training however.
Cthulhu
Garchomp isn't a legendary.
Braviaggron Not referring to garchomp as a legendary...
your garchomp doesnt stand a chance against my level 100 metapod !!
Brandon Rodriguez
OH NOES !!!
......
Boi, why ain't you use Mewtwo to kill 'em?
I like how GameFreak wanted to make Red like Ash bc Red basically has all the same Pokemon Ash does in the anime: Pikachu, Charizard, Blastiose (Squirtle), Venasaur (Bulbasaur), Snorlax, and Lapras
Yeah.. the anime TOTALLY came first *(Sarcasm)*
Amethyst Soul Bubbles But the anime came before soul silver/heart gold.
But that was basically the pokemon yellow team. Who doesn't want the starters AND a pikachu? And that snorlax and lapras came because of the snorlax blocking the road and the lapras given to you.
Itz Izzy red was the very first pokemon trainer in the gameboy version and fire red
It would've been cool if Red had the team you had when you played as him back in the originals.
Now play this battle with Pokemon RGB: Champion battle (dj-Jo Remix)
Ash is Red
No he isn't.
noob
Rocco Arce no you are all dumb..red IS ash
Dumbass
+Michael norman
u mad? Ash NEVER had a Blastoise and Venusaur. He released both of them.
Ahhh...
The memories of when I used to play this game all day
The most “EPIC” final game theme and battle to become the world’s greatest Pokémon master/champion
OMFG. That is Adventures Red's team. This is game Red. Ya know. The one that they call Uber Red.
What other pokemon do you have on your team?
Red didn't start with a Bulbasaur. His first pokemon in Adventures was Poliwag.
Since there aren't any good emulators for the ds im buying the whatever the newest one is this weekend
He doesn't commit suicide. You can battle him again and again if you beat the Elite 4 then climb Mt Silver again.
False. You still meet him in Black and White 2 and Sun and Moon.
The real reason he disappeared?
He used an escape rope and visited the Pokemon Center he last visited.
Wooden Sword nope he blacked out and teleported to the nearest Pokemon center
He hopped on his Charizard and went to the Pokemon Center
No. According to Bulbapedia, he's at least 16 in B/W 2.
He was once a Champion. But I think he wants more than that, He goes to Mountain Silver for whatever reason we dont know what, probably training. He is now the Pokemon Master for all regions.
"Blue started with a CHARMANDER, not a SQUIRTLE!" In my games, he starts with Squirtle.
Mkbw50 red with an eevee
Where is the best place to get Larvitar & what time etc etc etc etc
So Red has the time to stand on top of an extremely cold mountain and stare out at stuff,
but he never has time to visit his own mother for however long it's been since the previous generation.
Seems legit.
This isn't the Red from the Manga, it's the Red from Pokemon Yellow, who is based on Ash. That's why he has the starter Pokemon. If the manga were the source, blue would be a girl and Red's rival running the veridian city gym would be called Green.
