I have watched Julie and Doug from the begining. They are both so wonderful on and off filming. Today I’ll is in his 90s and still does short cameos. They belong together and I think the network will never be able to replace them. Thank you for reminding me of fantastic their love story really is!
I think it was a great idea to have Bill & Susan Hayes on the Today Show to talk about Doug & Julie Thanks Bryant Gumbel & Tom Brokaw for a Great Interview.
Every couple who marries has the dream in their hearts of love everlasting. But sadly most marriages end. Only the most trusting, loyal and loving persons can survive what life throws at them and it blows up before they know what happened nor can they try to fight the demons and win, so they give up without trying. A love like Bill and Susan’s withstood all the battle sanded up on top! It takes patience, it takes understanding and a tremendous amount of trust and love for your partner. And it takes two to hold on. Every time I saw the love between Doug and Julie, and Bill and Susan, I cried at the thought that my marriage was one that did not stand the test of time. Susan, you must hold onto the many wonderful happy years you had with Bill and cherish every one of the happy memories! I wish I had!,
Thank you for sharing this! I’ve been a fan since the early 70s! Many of these scenes I never saw due to the inconvenience of having to go to school! LOL….thanks again!

@Tina, ...but you'd have to watch a LOT of heartbreak, too, which could be so frustrating day-to-day. @Dave, ask grandma and grandpa (or NBC) to "please" share that wonderful scene from Julie's 50th anniversary show as an addendum to this video. The love story isn't over yet. I guess I think it's so beautiful because I'm lucky enough to live that kind of love still after 46 yrs. I love what you do for these two --I'm not sure who was more excited at the Jimmy Fallon show, you or your granddad -- thanks for sharing your love with the world. Grandpa's not the only one who seems to have the world by the tale.
He looks very young in those years ago also Julie they make cute together I don't know he was that good looking in those years ago Oscar and juile they cute together and sweet also to lovely couple they are
