I love how once she snapped that one guy's spine, it was like a switch flipped in her.
I love how this show adopts the general tone used in the Marvel Netflix shows. And I love that the shows have been added to the MCU timeline on Disney+ after spending so long in canon limbo.
Now just need Agents of Shield on the timeline 😭

So we actually know from the fact that Clint was active as Ronin during the Blip, that all of what we see of adult Maya takes place during the Blip. Which also means that Daredevil and Kingpin both survived. And, from figuring out the timeline of the Defenders shows, we know Punisher survives as well, as we get a "Three Months Later" tag at the end of Punisher S2 that places him firmly within the Blip.
Edit: Since you mentioned the casting between young and old Maya, the actress who plays young Kaya is actually Alaqua Cox's cousin, who is also deaf. I'm not sure if she also has a prosthetic leg, but I know Alaqua soes, and I like that they wrote it into the character instead of just pretending as if she has two normal legs.
Yeah, the young Maya actress girl was adorable. I liked the show overall having seen all episodes. Flawed, with a rushed finale but...I can't wait to se Maya again. They succeeded in making me caring or invested in her, which I did not expect they'd be able to based on all rumors about the problems in production.

As someone who knows ASL I feel like they have done a great job with diversity. I met Vicent dnofrio at Galaxy-Con and he said they wanted him to seem so distant from her even as her "uncle" not to learn any sign language. I'm so invested in this story even if the critics don't like it.

My favourite moment was recognising the song Pretty Waste and knowing something was about to go DOWN and it sure did!
10:57 That beat drop is GNARLY. Love the Kingsman / John Wick style fight choreo, Maya spring-loading a question mark kick with her prosthetic was so badass. This whole episode was kino. I’m halfway through the show so far and absolutely loving it.

I just finished ep 4 and I gotta say, with one ep left, it sure feels so far like this is one of the best comic book properties we’ve gotten in years. Really, really peak stuff. I think the shot of Matt coming over the chain link fence in this ep is my favorite action shot in any comic book property ever

@@lilbubblegumleaks8104 I dunno, I think it felt good. It wasn't as good as the first four, but I think it worked for the story. This was a good show, it was good that it was released all at once. Her powers were a bit of a departure but it worked and I think that it should probably have been four episodes and they needed to adjust the pacing.

@@lilbubblegumleaks8104I actually agree to an extent, the finale was the weakest part for me, but that felt more like an issue of pacing with all the stuff they obviously cut out and reshot to trim this show down to 5 episodes. For me, that somewhat disappointing finale dropped the series from a 9.5 to a 9, though. So I still thought it was a certified banger

16:13 as a resident of a “flyover state” I very much agree. We could stay away from the east and west coast for a while and I would be pretty happy about it
remember the whole thing with native americans where they are molded and born of clay from the earth so once the came out of the earth the became human.
Very promising first episode, the darker, more adult tone is nice. A change from all the "happy-fun-time" (compared to) Shows we had previously from the MCU.
And always nice to see Charlie Cox back in that Suit. God how i missed Daredevil and i hope his show is keeping that tone - if not darker. Like the good ol' days on Netflix.

After further review it was okay. I enjoyed episodes 1 & 2 the most. The ending was a bit cheesy and felt rushed imo. Not horrible though that still belongs to She Hulk.

I dont know if someone else has mentioned this, but young Maya and adult Maya are related in real life. They are either aunt and niece or cousins of some sort.
Disney+ has all of the Netflix shows in order with all the other movies and shows on the timeline.

So happy that this show took place in my home state (at least the first episode) and on the timeline after Hawkeye, it should be around May/June time because Hawkeye takes place in December of 2024

I think Marvel Studios' Echo is set after the events of Marvel Studios' Hawkeye which is set in December 2023 in the MCU's Sacred Timeline, which is now set 5 Months later which is Spring - Summer 2024, during the events of Marvel Studios' Moon Knight and episodes 2-5 of Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
No. FFH is 8 months after Endgame, so FFH is in 2024. After FFH, you go straight to NWH, and at the end of that movie, it's almost Christmas, and Hawkeye episode 6 hasn't happened yet. So 5 months after December 2024 is May 2025

I’m confused by the timeline- Hawkeye became Ronin after the snap, right? So the events of Daredevil with Fisk going to jail happened before that, that series picked up after the first Avengers cause NY being in rebuild was part of the plot. So Maya was training with Fisk before her father died? I’ve missed something guys so confused

I enjoyed this pilot, but is it just me or is the pacing and editing really all over the place. I feel like this episode was the highlight reel of multiple episodes, and scenes weren’t left to breathe but immediately cut to the next.
I think pacing is an issue for every single Disney + show. That's the problem with small episode orders. These shows really should be at least 8-10 episodes.
But for me, pilots are always a bit of a rush. As long as it's still well done, I care less about the rush and more about where we're headed. So this had that going for it.
Just enjoy the ride
I think it was just the consequences of having to recap a lot in a short amount of time, the second episode and on don’t really have that same issue
