Kyrie’s character reminds me of Arwen’s from Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy a little, mainly in their criticisms by fans: They don’t wield weapons, or powerful magics, or have incredible feats of defeating enemies, yet they’re called useless despite not needing any of those sort of things to be useful. Both female characters don’t just support their counterparts/the protagonist, they also encourage and ensure them with words, those of wisdom or otherwise, and their words definitely feel strong in their own ways as they give strength and courage to the protagonist. Arwen in LotR encouraged Aragorn to take up his birthright as Isildur’s heir, who was reluctant because of his lineage’s fall to darkness, but she ensured him that he was another person and not Isildur himself, nor did he have any of his weaknesses caused by taking the One Ring. Meanwhile, when Nero learns Vergil is his father, he becomes angry, but it’s really because it’s a lot of major, life-changing information to take in all at once after being so alone with nobody but Kyrie and Credo in his life, and really, he doesn’t know how to react, until he calls Kyrie one more time, where she gives him words of assurance, reminding Nero that he always knows what to do and always does the right thing, something Nero himself settles on; that he really needed to hear her tell him that, too, perhaps not just anyone else. Kyrie’s words of assurance gives Nero the confidence he’s actually been lacking this whole time, something he probably didn’t yet realized he’d lacked, because this time, he charges towards the site of Vergil and Dante’s battle at the summit of the Qlipoth at full throttle, and he fully unleashes his feelings and desire to keep his family from destroying itself, summoning his latent strength that unlocked his Devil Trigger, all to end the never-ending rivalry, which he apparently did. And yet both female characters are criticized as being useless, when they’re probably one of the most useful characters in their respective series for another reason. Without Arwen, Aragorn may have never returned to Gondor as King. Without Kyrie, Nero wouldn’t have been able to get Dante and Vergil to sheathe their blades, even if he stayed on the path he did that was straighter than his father’s.

We just gonna sleep on the raw power Johnny put into voicing Nero? Those screams sound horrifyingly geniune, like he's genuinely emotionally breaking, like he's the character himself. It's insanely impressive
No one is sleeping on anything, it's just that his voice and Necro synced so well that we all dined in euphoria. Jokes aside, if you look closely, DMC 4 Nero looks just like Johnny in a wig.
I think Kyrie is a good character but could do with some expansion. I'd love to see an arc for her where she feels bad for not being able to help Nero when he fights Demons and resolves to become strong. That would make her different from Lady and Trish while not keeping her in the damsel in distress role.
Thanks for sharing. I like your idea on Kyrie, I also think what set Kyrie completely apart from the 2 you mentioned is because she display a non-assertive, soft yet gentle + a reliance side of her without undermine the gender judging how Nero respected her and willing to protect her with his life.
Indeed. The problem with Kyrie isn't that she's feminine or that she acks the kind of awesome skills that Trish and Lady, it's the fact that she has no agency within the story itself, and is effectively nothing more than a plot device and a motivation for the hero. Being a "damsel" can still make for interesting storytelling, if you focus on how it affects them. But the story sadly never does that.
I think it’s fair though, not every woman wants to deal with weapons and danger. Today most games are just about women in tight clothes being super strong and “quirky”. Not every woman is into that.
"She yearns for your touch" ...I mean...what sort of weird comment while giving someone a sword is that? And how does Kyrie knows it's a "she",as far as I know only Nero know Red Queen's name at this point...

Like I enjoyed them on screen together because it gave Nero a reason to do things, but man did she need more. She was at best, this empty shell for motivation. And during my first playthrough it worked but it could've been WAYY better. More time to her character fleshing it out, maybe with flashbacks to when Nero was injured saving her etc would've been fantastic. But botched development probably removed that alongside giving Dante an actual unique campaign.
Thanks for sharing. Tbh she was kinda created just to drive Nero's goal, I wish they could give her more characteristic and screen time rather then letting her playing victim and sadly a weakling most of the time BUT then again game of that time aren't that good on giving spot light to soft, weaker female character unlike their stronger counterpart; lady, trish, bayonetta with a strong and bold appearances and objectives.
Kyrie is perfect for Nero and vice versa. I hope they never change. I would like some more character development for the both of them. I hope they make a sixth game.
The way Nero fights to save Kyrie.... And Dante, not telling initially that he was his relative, proves that He wanted Nero to Blossom his human side, Not his Demonic one.... And Kyrie is like a Blessing to Nero.... Ohh Nero my boy, I cannot imagine ur life without her..... Perhaps, the best love story in any game❤️❤️❤️

DMC4 shows how much he really loves Kyrie, whenever she’s been put in at risk, forcing him to do whatever it takes for her. Even if it means watching her brother, who was his Mentor, die for them. DMC5 shows that even though he just lost the family he just found out about, after learning the Demon he wanted revenge for taking his arm is his father. Nero still has a family. A beautiful girlfriend, who’s family took him in when he was all alone, & not too many friends who all lost their families because of the mistakes his grandfather left behind. DMC6 will show how far the 2 have come after everything they went through, since he learn that he’s a grandson of Sparda. With Nero trying to fulfilled the promise he made to his father & uncle. While becoming a better father to a daughter who he wants to be more like her mother. And whatever happens to him & to Kyrie. Their newborn daughter would never be alone. While explaining of who his mother was & what she’s like. And maybe having Patty as the Maria Renard to his Richter Belmont. Which would make Kyrie Annette, Trish Iris, & Lady Tera.
Yeah, it's definitely interesting to see the evolution of both Nero and Dante's characters across the games, especially in relation to their loved ones. Nero's growth from a lone wolf to a family man is particularly striking. I'm curious to see how DMC6 delves into Nero's journey as a father and how he balances that with his demon-hunting legacy. The potential parallels with Richter Belmont and Patty are intriguing too. It'll be fun to see what kind of dynamic unfolds there!
@@ikigaofficial yeah growing up in the 2000s. Before 4. When playing the first game of the franchise. We seen how Dante going through a similar path that Nero was going through. Him losing a mother, followed by a brother that he was forced to killed. Which explains why he wanted to defeat Mundus for everything. After that, & with him saving Trish. Dante was able to surpass his father, while also finding someone who reminds him of his mother, despite being created by Mundus to look like Eva. Which was proof that the blood of Sparda will lived on. But when DMC4 came, Capcom decided to take it in a different direction with a new protagonist. Which is interesting. As for what the plot of DMC6 would be like. I was thinking more of a time travel plot, that focuses on 3 generations. With the Past focusing on Sparda, from when he & Eva first met. The Present focusing on Nero, which was a few years after DMC5. And the Future focusing on Nero’s daughter, who goes on a journey to learn about why she has these strange powers, because she grew up not knowing who her parents were. The villain of the game would be an evil Alchemist, who is the head of a cult that worships Mundus. It would be surprising if he was the reason the sons of Sparda became Orphans in the first place. Like this old guy is the one who resurrected Mundus, because he wanted revenge on Eva for betraying him to Sparda, because the two were together, before she chose the Dark Knight over him. It would also be great to see what kind of man Sparda was before he disappeared, while learning that he’s been alive when things got worse.
@Wing-Zero-si1eu Honestly, I have mixed feelings about your idea for DMC6. While the concept of exploring three generations with a time travel plot is intriguing, it might be a bit too convoluted for a single game. The beauty of the Devil May Cry series lies in its straightforward, high-energy action and character-driven storytelling. Adding multiple timelines and a new protagonist from the future might dilute the focus on existing characters like Nero and Dante, who still have plenty of unexplored potential. Moreover, the villain being an evil alchemist with a vendetta against Eva feels a bit forced. Mundus as a central villain works because of his deep connections to Sparda and the existing lore. Introducing a new villain with a complex backstory might detract from the established mythology of the series. While the idea of exploring Sparda’s past and his relationship with Eva could be fascinating, it might be better suited for a dedicated prequel rather than a storyline intertwined with Nero's future. Overall, I'd prefer to see DMC6 build on the momentum of DMC5, focusing on the characters we already know and love, rather than trying to juggle multiple timelines and new protagonists.
@@ikigaofficial yeah I once heard that there was originally going to be Prequel game for PSP, which explains more about Sparda himself. Taking place during the Great War. And how he betrayed Mundus for Humanity. Which got cancelled, that left us hanging on what he was like. Perhaps DMC6 would show us that he’s been alive ever since his Sons lost their mother. Because he was too weak without his powers to keep them safe, like what any father would do for their family. It would be interesting for Nero to have a similar relationship with his grandfather, that Riku had with Ansem The Wise in Kingdom Hearts. Which is funny because Nero is pretty much like Riku, while Dante is more like Sora.
@Wing-Zero-si1eu Yeah, I've heard about the canceled prequel for the PSP, and it's a shame we never got to see more of Sparda's story firsthand. It would have been amazing to delve deeper into his character and understand his motives for betraying Mundus during the Great War. This missing piece of lore definitely left a gap in the narrative. The idea of Sparda being alive but weakened after losing his powers could add an interesting dynamic to DMC6. It would provide a compelling reason for his absence and offer a chance for Nero to develop a unique bond with his grandfather. However, I’m not sure if mirroring the relationship dynamics from Kingdom Hearts would fit well within the DMC universe. Nero and Sparda's relationship should stand on its own merits and be developed organically within the context of their shared history and the series' tone. Nero does share some similarities with Riku in terms of character development, and Dante's carefree and adventurous nature does align with Sora. But Devil May Cry has its own distinctive style and narrative rhythm that shouldn't be overshadowed by comparisons to other franchises. Overall, while it’s fun to speculate and draw parallels, I think DMC6 should focus on strengthening its own characters and story arcs. Exploring Sparda's history could be enriching, but it needs to be done in a way that complements the existing storyline and characters without overcomplicating the plot.

I find it hilarious that they went so far as getting Stephanie Sheh back, but Kyrie never appeared on-screen in DMC5. Did they just get stuck on a final look for her updated design on the RE Engine or something?
I think they're testing the waters, with the first being the new female design and the second being the trend. They seem to have trouble designing both "new" Lady and Trish; the latter always reminds me of Mia from RE7, so it makes sense to me that they delay the reveal of Kyrie. Lady also looks weird, at least for me when comparing the older version. Besides, since they make the new Nero "younger" and he seems to need Kyrie more than ever, it is only normal that they also reduce Kyrie to just background voice in the game to see how the fans react to their relationship.
Thanks for sharing. Not surprise for me judging by the game trend mixing with political nowadays. I say easily the next Sparda a female aka daughter of Nero and niece to Dante and Grandchild to Vergil with extremely high probability 🤭
Just the default ability of Nero's arm to absorb power, he able to absorbed yamato probably due virgil and him being blood connected thus resonating and whatnot.

I love those two so much
Ikr.
But I love the song more xD
Honestly wanted to see Kyrie in DMC 5.
Can't agree more 😖
Nero voice acting on point
Thanks for sharing. I agree and that starting song is mesmerizing
@@ikigaofficial Exactly and that can still be there too even if she get's stronger.
I want to see k and n work together as one
How could you leave out the "if I have to become a demon to save her, so be it!"-scene?? T__T

Especially in real life, thats very true

And Kyrie is like a Blessing to Nero.... Ohh Nero my boy, I cannot imagine ur life without her..... Perhaps, the best love story in any game❤️❤️❤️
Dante has always been the good-naughty-boy type, and he's good at it! Nero and Kyrie, on the other hand, demonstrate a healthy balance of yin and yang in their harmonious relationship! 🤗

Nero and kyrie relationship reminds me of ichigo and orihime. The similarity even closer when you realise that they have the same voice actor.
Thanks for sharing. The resemblance is there for sure, both Nero and Ichigo can literally go bankai forever, to protect their love one while Orihime and Kyrie are on the goddess role.
@@ikigaofficial i realise this after reading devil may cry wiki about kyrie. In the trivia it stated that Stephanie Sheh, Kyrie's voice actress, also plays Orihime Inoue in Bleach and Eureka in Eureka Seven. In both, Johnny Yong Bosch, Nero's voice actor, plays her love interests, Ichigo Kurosaki and Renton Thurston respectively. Kyrie's dress is also similar to Orihime's once she is captured by the Arrancars and in Ulquiorra's care.

I hope one day we'll see the same kind of scene with Ichigo and Orihime

Sweetest Couple ever
最甜情侣 indeed
I think Nero would teach k how to fight back and out of love
