- The ipad mini 6 came out in September of 2021... It's 2024 and nothing new has come out in the ipad mini line. So should we give up on waiting for the ipad mini 7?

I think Apple will still update the Mini this fall. Mentioned I sold my Mini recently and went to the 11 inch M4 iPad Pro cellular version. Biggest reason…..keeping devices consolidated and making sense. iPad Pro and iPhone Pro are what fit into my workflow. Having cellular on the iPad make the setup the ultimate devices for me since I’m always traveling for work too.
@@meatsweat7831 And I think that's the good thing right now, anyone can find a device that works just right for their workflow, hasn't always been that way.
getting rid of the ipad mini would be as dumb as it was to get rid of the iphone mini. As AI takes on more tasks in conjunction with Siri, a larger screen becomes less necessary. Foldable phones are awful. Instead, give me an ipad mini with a pro level chipset and a desktop like os experience, I'll plug it into a usb hub and an external monitor setup when i need a big screen
Yeah that would be ideal, unfortunately Apple seems to keep a desktop OS as far away from this thing as possible haha

Currently using a 5th Gen iPad Mini. The Mini is the form factor that works for me - don't need anything MacBook or iPad Pro sized - so I'm waiting (very) impatiently for whatever Apple decides to give us.

I do believe the mini will come towards the end of the year & It’ll have A17 pro chip meaning it’ll pair with the Apple pencil pro

They are waiting to add an A18 chip so that the mini can have the AI features.

@@lheilmanc Maybe, sometimes they hold off on those features though so that it causes you to have to upgrade your purchase, they all about that money!

I just got a mini 6 a week back. I need it to study. If the new one comes, Its fine, if it doesn't, its fine. I'll now worry about it if and when it comes.

I have an iPad Air 5th gen and before that had the standard size base iPads (like 8th gen and earlier) but I am currently watching from my mini 5th gen and I honestly use it so much now. When I first started using it it was so bizarre having the smaller screen but I got used to it and now it feels weird going that other way haha! But this thing comes almost everywhere with me now. I love it. I’ve been waiting to see what they might do (if they do) with a 7th gen.
Is the 5th gen starting to feel slow?
@@JonAdamsTech I don’t think so, I actually got my 5th gen mini after the 6th gen was already released. It’s still running pretty well though. I can’t say I’m a user that probably notices things like that a ton because I only use it for fairly basic things but I love the portability of the mini which is why I take it everywhere to read and watch videos and stuff.
I know the iPad mini has always been the forgotten child of the iPad family going 3 years between updates. And I know there’s been persistent rumors that the mini will be discontinued our replaced by an iPhone that folds out into an iPad. Blah blah blah. But i think the iPad mini 7 is coming this Fall despite all the negative talk. I’m an artist who’s main device is an iPad Pro, but I’ve always had an iPad mini for when I want to travel really light. I will upgrade my old mini for the 7 whenever it comes out. I think hoping for an OLED screen is a stretch. But a faster mini that fixes the jelly scroll issue would be very welcome.
Well I really hope you’re right, I would purchase the mini 7 the moment they released it!
I owned a iPad Pro 12.9 inch but sold it yesterday and bought a iPad mini 6 because i hardly used it, to big and for writing i have an Air m2, so yes, I lost a Lot of money but now im using the ipad again

Not sure if Apple is giving up on it, but I did. I traded in my ipad mini 6 and got new iPad Air6(m2) 11inch on release day and I am loving it... an upgrade on many levels. No regrets so far. 😊 Great video as always!

So far the iPad mini 6 is the thing, I’ve had it since launch and with mobile access to, it’s the worlds best travel companion, I’m not in urge for any upgrades yet

@@JonAdamsTech, well depends on the specs and battery life, noting else and I'm not in a urge, will await all reviews when it released, the main trigger will be battery life mainly, prior deciding stay or go for the upgrade, but question is, will it come really?
I've always thought the iPad mini was a little overpriced for what it is. Especially now with an aging chip and half the storage. An M2 Air can be had for $100 more at the moment. The mini has always just been a little undervalued, IMO. Cool form factor though.
Definitely, especially with how old all the hardware is at this point. But because I do most of my reading on that device it's perfect for me.

Yeah. I’m starting to have my doubts that Apple will continue the iPad mini legacy. I personally am not a fan of foldable devices, I prefer the appearance of smaller form factor devices.

Yeah for sure, it depends on how they pull it off but I think with Apple’s ability to improve on other peoples designs they could do an awesome version of a foldable device!
I would assume a decent portion of people buying ipads are artists. I think the majority of artists prefer to have larger screen.
I don’t think that’s the majority of people but I do think that artist definitely need a larger screen than the mini for sure!

I hope they don’t kill off the Mini. I love my Mini 6 for so many reasons. Mainly because using the 13” Pro as a handheld isn’t an option. If they do kill the device, instead of updating (which I hope) I’ll use my Mini 6 until it dies and then buy another one. 😂 As for foldable, been there, done that (flip phones). I have no desire for a foldable iPad.

There is only 1 reason, why i need the mini...software called foreflight. If it wasn't because of that, I would never buy apple products.

Apple will release a foldable in the year 2040. They are way behind the competition. Samsung and other companies have foldables and do a really good job with them. If you want a foldable buy the competition since Apple will leave you waiting. Even most features of Apple Intelligence won't be available until 2025.
