Thank you!!
Love the shape of that hawk bill ! The handle with the slight curve! The wood grain looks great as well ! Nice pick up ! I have no luck 🍀 finding any knife books myself !
I lucked out a few months back. I was looking for a few empty boxes and found a whole box of gun smithing and a large assortment of soft and hard cover knife books in the dumpster. They date from early 1900s to present day. Like they say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
Awesomeness!!
The Buck 302 Solitaire - is a nice one at a good price. They were USA made and now discontinued. They came from the factory with a shorter clip point blade. The blade to handle ratio looks a little odd, but it is definitely original and not reprofiled. Thanks for taking us along on your knife hunting journey!
Thanks for sharing this!
Very good job 👏 👍 be safe and GOD BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸 🙏
Kevin, I just got a new Case Knife & I love it. 2023 Folding hunter CS blades, Amber bone handles.
Awesome!
@@theknifedoctor but I'm with you with these new ones the quality just isn't the same even within the last five years or so it's really went down, same thing with Leatherman I won't purchase any multi tool now that doesn't have USA stamped on it.
You find great knives in this store
Thank you!!
That pruning knife turned out really nice! Great job doc.
Thank you and thanks for watching!!
Great video. Nice restore of that pruning knife.
Just a note…Leatherman are 83% USA made. Only a few of the components like files, pliers, corkscrews, etc. are outsourced from Europe and Mexico.
I just recently found out that even some Benchmade aren’t 100% USA made. Although assembled in the US, some of the blade steels are outsourced.
Yeah. I heard if it doesn’t say USA MADE, it has imported parts. Plus I like seeing USA on something when I buy it. Thanks for sharing this!
Gotta love these knife hunts and restorations. Thanks for all the videos Kevin! God Bless
Thank you!!
Watching in Puerto Rico! Awesome find great knife finds. I passed a few pawnshops here, but they were already closed. I’m hoping to hit up a few tomorrow see what’s happening down here. Blessings!
That’s Awesome!! You along way from home!! LOL
Hey brother I really enjoy your videos.. thank you for your service. I live in Olean, NY home of k-bar knives.. and I'm also only a short drive from Bradford, PA where the Zippo building is at. I also have a UA-cam channel. Dave's knives, EDC and survival. I haven't posted anything in a while due to some injuries I've had recently. Keep up the great videos.
Thank you!! I’ll check you out!! Hope you’re healing well! Praying for you!
Welcome I really like the hawkbills from mid 1800s to 1920s been trying to get them why I can
Awesome!!
That kabar is awesome turned out beautifully very cool
Thank you!!
Nice finds, Kevin. Just picked myself up a Kabar from a pawn shop last week. All Leatherman are USA made whether they say it or not. It's the Gerbers that can be USA or China.
Thanks for watching! Actually, if the Leatherman is not marked USA, then most of it is imported.
@@theknifedoctorThanks for the information, Kevin. I did not realize that. After a little research, apparently there are a few parts on certain models that they do in fact outsource, including plier heads. All the blades are USA made which is good. I'm surprised even my Wave+, which is one of their most popular tools, does not say USA on it.
Oh wow loved the video doc! I love the lil peanut and mini stockman's like that case!
God bless you and your family!
Thank you!!
That a memory on the ka bar
Hand sand that wood on the hawk bill doc over a piece of paper save the dust mix it with a Pva glue n use as a filler its same color n the glues you will never see it 😂 as it dries clear 😉 great cheat 👍 grand video as always great books crackin finds 👍 😀 👏
Thanks for sharing this! I’ve seen my dad do that. He used to piddle with wood furniture.

Thank you!!
I don't know what it is, but I just love those pruning/hawkbill type knives especially the older ones! The wood on that Kabar is really nice love that cocobolo wood!

Good morning Kevin...
Good Morning!!
That knife book was a great find. May be 2 bird dogs in the family!
LOL!!
What wheel grinder and wheel do you use for polishing/ cleaning ?
It’s the one at Harbor Freight.
I need that Afghanistanie Knife 😂🤣😆🤣
LOL…
@@theknifedoctor That was Classic moment.🤣🤣 LMAO Rolling 🤣
The jump wings are junk unless they are real sterling silver. Same with my Army CIB. The Army ones today are shiny junk metal. WWII, Korean, and early Vietnam (I think)CIBs were Serling silver (92.5% real silver). I now have real silver jump wings and a CIB. If it NOT marked sterling or has a real silver mark it’s not.
Thanks for sharing this!
where are the books?
Which one?
👍✌️👌❤️🇨🇦
Hey can I post a link to my knife collection video in ur comments?
5:38 lol ide like to know what they are asking for that zebco blue spinning reel... they sell it at Walmart with a little 2pc rod for 10 bucks. I can't even believe a pawn shop would accept something like that lol it can't be worth 5 bucks so I guess they bought it for a buck from someone? Lol
Not sure on the reel. Thanks for watching!!
🤠👍
All leathermans are made in America
Yes, but if USA is not stamped on the leatherman it’s made up of lots of imported parts.
@@theknifedoctor I’ll be completely honest I didn’t believe you but your absolutely correct so I stand corrected 😂 that’s a shame I thought everything was USA made bit of a shame
@@bwxbwx6453 LOL. Thanks man. I had just learned that myself about a month ago.
It's nothing like finding that old rusted knife and reviving it. I recently went through my great grandpa's basement and it was full of old hickory knives. I also found a old camco barlow that was rusted so I decided to clean it up. I saved a life of a old knife. Love the videos you really inspired me to get out and hunt for more knife especially the old rusted ones.
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing this!
Nice finds, I like the old KABAR.
Me too!!
That's a knife 🗡️😅.
Nice ol' Ka -Bar.
Great video DOC...
Semper Fi Marine 💪...
Thanks Bruce!!
That Leatherman is USA made. It’s an OHT model. They were just discontinued
I’ve read though if it doesn’t have USA on a leatherman then it has a lot of imported parts on it.
Looking forward to the KaBar outcome. Not disappointed. I could use a pruning knife like that. Nice work sir.
Thank you!
Great hunt and clean up. I did what I said I wasn’t going to do, just got the new release Case peanut butter and jelly bone knives. Trapper and Barlow came today, they look and feel good. Got 2 sodbusters and the big stockman on the way. Thanks for sharing. Going to a show this weekend.
Awesome!!
Dr do you put any polishing compound on you buffing wheel sorry if you told us already I I didn’t here I’ve watch every video you’ve made never remember if you said
No. It’s like an SOS pad. I use it clean the surface rust off the bolsters, springs and blades.
👍✌️👌🫶♥️🇨🇦
The shape of the old hawkbill pruner is growing on me. I don’t have one in my collection. I may have to get one.
I love them!
Loved seeing that Kabar get cleaned up. It’s ready to be put back to work!
It is! Thanks Bryan!!
That ding was pretty deep but an old trick I used to use on dings in wood gun stocks is a damp rag and a hot iron that would steam the wood and it would raise the dings back out, however if the wood fibers are broken like that one was it helps but won't bring them back you can sand them some but either live with them or you can use a wood filler but pretty hard to match the color of the wood, another thing on wood that is saturated with years of oil we would take the stock off and coat the wood with oven cleaner like "EASY-OFF" and set it in a warm place like a closet with a water heater or a hot garage and let set a couple days and wipe it off then spray it again and repeat as often as needed to clean the wood, its amazing how this pulls those oils out of the wood it will take several days on a gun stock on knives they are thinned and smaller so might work faster but not sure of the effect on the metal so I would say best to remove from the knife , if you have an old beater you could experiment with it to see effect on the metal.. I really like what you do keep those videos coming it is great viewing for an old timer like me, I would bet there are bunches of us old guys out there that like watching you kids!!!
Thanks for sharing this!!
Bought a case canoe recently, blade was a little wobbly. Any advise on how to fix ? Thanks 🙏
You could lightly tap the blade pin. Not to much. You get it to tight it won’t have snap.
I like how u respond to everyone even if its just a thank you, thats keeping it real..u are a great teacher u dont even know it! Much enjoyed
Awesome Sir! Thank you for sharing this and God Bless!!
