  • Summary
In this video, Professor Wayne Miller provides his perspective on the relationship between Science and Religion, how they have at times had periods of intense conflict, but how they have also contributed to each other. He discusses the conflict between the Medieval church and such figures as Giordano Bruno, Nicolaus Copernicus, and Galileo Galilei. He also points out that devoutly religious figures such as Isaac Newton, Gregor Mendel, and the Belgian Catholic Priest Georges Lemaître have made profound contributions to science in the realms of physics, biology, and cosmology, respectively.
