The Jag has 100+ lb-ft more torque and only 27hp or so less than the Huracan. With the Huracan’s lower weight and faster gearbox it’s a close one. Go 5.0 supercharged V8!
@@CapnT87 torque doesn't matter here. it's all about power, weight and aerodynamics. the jag clearly has 35hp less than the huracan and still managed to do well even with a torque converter auto
@@leroyjenkins6809 no no. If you want top speed, more horses. If you want fuel efficiency and good pulling power then you need torque. You know that rpm x torque equals to power? If you got low torque like in the huracan but high redline, you can get the same amount of power as a boosted engine with more torque but lower red line.
@@v12-s65 yes you are correct, but if you want a high top speed, you also want the sufficient amount of torque to get you there and get you there quickly. High horse power with high torque will always be better than high horsepower with low torque. Kinda like a C6 Z06 with the 7.0L LS7 vs a Ferrari 458 or a Gallardo. The LS7 has a superior top end because of that big liter torque.
Fair point. 'Stock' It has less power than the Lambo, but with modifications and tuning,..700+ bhp is obtainable. I have an XFR, which has the same 5.0 SC engine,.and it too is an incredible car.
@@RyneLandersit's not underpowered for sure but this jag is heavy for some reason, they weigh like 1.7 to 1.8 tons I think. Whole the lambo having a v10 still weighs 1.5 tons. Honestly jag porbably just cheaper out on the engine and didn't put any boost on it. Considering a gt500 makes 200 more hp with a simillar sized engine. If I had one is want it to make the engine simillar to the "predator" engine. It is co developed with ford anyways.
They're assholes they make cookie cutter cars like the Krauts do I've had 3 Jags but they lost their panache this last XJ was the last nice car they've made the interior on the f type is a laugh
I swear the only thing the f type svr lacks is speed. Why the hell didnt they put like 50 more horsepower in it. It gets walked by stock M5s which is a family sedan and this huracan was pulling hard on it. Disappointing.
@@luclapierre7621 yeah ik you can mod it but I’m talking about the factory specs. It’s best advised not to mod jaguars they are already unreliable af stock so adding more power will just be a recipe for disaster. I wish the factory built the engine and trans a little stronger and added the 50 or so horsepower in to actually compete with its competitors in terms of straight line acceleration
@@cw2840 Upgrade Intercooler radiator and charge cooler, slap on around 600hp -> as reliable as from factory dont go much higher tho, the heat will be a problem factory f-types are really reliable btw
Jags f types are GT's not comparable with ' race' cars with the likes of ferrari or lambos, one is comfortable immensely fast ride ride one is full on race mode.
I think that differentiation between supercars, muscle cars and sports cars is necessary. Are we talking about a 750hp Mustang or a Lambo in comparison or an M5 with 600hp (underrated on purpose). The F Type is a great all round road car going from a local point to point. Much like a MG on steroids. It is cramped (6' barely fits), and rides very hard. For 30 minute commutes, it is a riot to drive. Over an hour it is a bit hard on the body and you feel worn out. The M5 is a great touring car. BMW has it dialed in perfectly. Even the sport setting is comfortable at speed. You can drive 6 hours easy and not feel beat up. Chunky is something I would not describe 570hp with a supercharger. The power comes on very quick and strong. Plus it is AWD.
The jag did pretty well considering the power difference

AS A SAME COLOR SVR OWNER, I AM PROUD OF THIS CAR.
Fair play to the F-Type SVR, it did pretty well 🔥
It's a 200K plus Lambo, it's supposed to beat the lesser priced and under powered Jag. That said,...I love the F-Type.
"underpowered" - it's 575hp from a super charged V8. It may have *less* power than the Lambo, but it's hardly underpowered.

Jaguar is best
Give the jag a tune and its pulling the huracan
The jag was holding on well there for a bit.
Svr top exhaust
Would take the jag any day. Way more character ❤
I've tried a lot of sports cars and I couldn't find better acceleration than the Jaguar❤🐆
Jamie vardy?
What's this a 3 second race?
They should have just kept going right?
I am not surprised that the Lamborghini won, but considering the price difference, they were too close
Cut the weight jaguar

Easy fix. There are a few vendors that offer a lower pulley swap + ECU tune that brings the 5.0 output up to 645hp/630lb-ft. Not expensive.
