... this literally sounds like every other soad song. Not hating on them but this certainly isn't breaking any new ground... a lot of bands who came up these guys are in their 50s now and doing it better.

Bro they took a break about 14 years ago and come back like this, literally without any drop in the quality of the music. I love them so much, that's why they are so memorable.
Drop C for the ultimate win. I wonder if they wrote this 12 years ago and for whatever the reason, it didn't make the cut. Now, all this time later, they're like "Hey remember that one song? Let's make a single out of it!" and here we are. That's how seamless this shit seems to me.

I'm not saying it's all Daron but look at how good Scars on Broadway is. Daron has always had a gift for music and I don't care who he's in a band with I'll always listen. Again, the rest of the band rocks but I fucking love Daron's music.

Daron wrote the two new songs as well as most songs in Mezmerize/Hypnotize. His music style hasn't changed that much, that's why they sound so similar. His latest album, Dictator, also sounds a lot like that
This song sounds like it could've easily been lifted from Hypnotize. It's crazy to see that they can still capture that old magic and to hear Serj's aggressive vocals again is so amazing. Serj's vocals, Daron's writing, and their harmonies are what make System Of A Down such a great band.

I think something that contributes to them not wanting to put out an album is the fact that a new album has been hyped up so much by fans that no matter what they put out it wont meet expectations. Even if its good in wont be as good as some might have hoped. At most I'd like a live album of some sort. Wake Up the Souls would be awesome since the videos I've seen of that tour were badass.

It feels like just yesterday it was 2008, I was 3 years old and my mom (who got me into metal) was still heartbroken after the SOAD breakup. For as long I can remember I've been loving System of a Down and I always thought "I'm never going to hear a new SOAD song" because I was born the year their last album came out. Now here I am, 15 years old, long hair, head banging to the band that made me into the person I am today. Now I'm not religious but, thank God for System of a Down and God bless Armenia & Artsakh. 🤘

In 05, I was only 8 years old at the time. System of a Down was the first metal band that I started listening to, in facts they’re the reason why I got into metal. I was bummed that they split up shortly after. Now at nearly 29 years old, I feel that they still got it.
