I do like the contact foams for the speed runs. I could hear it skittering a bit, you may want to soften up the shocks a bit to keep it from hopping over the bumps and lumps out there as well. That is about all the help I can provide as I am as much of a speed run newb as you are Fil!!! LOL!

You're speeding Fil, heard the police sirens. I have a Tamiya mini painted in blk/wht police with flashing lights. It would be cool to chase your car around while doing the speed run.🤣

Solid effort Fil. I didn't catch how many slot motor that was. 3 slots are the higher rpm variant when windings are the same. Single and double winds are for high grip surfaces and offer less internal resistance. Higher winds work better in slippery conditions due to higher resistance and trend to the hotter side.
I went with Yokomo rubber tire package 36 shore(stiffness)
Temperature plays a part. Purchase accordingly.

Great job Fil, you beat me by 1 mph. I’m still running the box tires and rims unfortunately. Experiment never hurts. Ludicrous may be the most bang for the buck option.👊

Hey Fil, that was a great first stab at this crazy event! Wow, still having trouble with traction, I had the same issues with foams needing to be warm on last year's SRC. Do you remember the Contact "sabotage foams" that Craig sent me? As you know I went back to rally blocks and they were good for 45mph at least. Anyway, you got a straight run in and proved the motor is worth sticking with - nice one buddy! :)

Exceed makes a great looking set of foams for 1/10 touring. They are being resold as a BSR tire. I hate the look of the Contact foams and the Exceed/BSR variants work great when I have used them. They come in white, black, and this semi-white color. Those are harder to find.

I'm also using same rubber as last year, they are Team Corally foam, no idea what was the shore number, not that I know what that means anyway, ha ha!

Not a bad start. You gots to work through the bugs. I went back and forth with belted tires for the TT02 but eventually settled on foams. I run 35shore Contacts.

I love it how the youtube compression makes the car disappear :) Wouldn't a lighter battery make it go faster? I guess you don't really need 5000 mAh.
Yes, and no. Lighter will give you more acceleration, but we don't need acceleration in this challenge. In fact, many guys are adding weight as they start going fast to help keep the car on the road.
And if you watch the super fast guys, they're all running minimum 5000 mah packs. The higher mah gives an increased voltage discharge rate = more top end! 😊
Nice run I may have to rethink my motor as well I'm mine is getting hot but it may be because my mesh is too tight like you said.
Yeah definitely check your mesh. Your car sounded just like mine did in my first video. Loosen up the mesh a bit, you'll get better speed, and less whining from the gearbox. 😁

Hey nice run Fil. I also found that foam tyres were crap at the car park because the surface is so lumpy that not much of a nearly solid tyre is making contact. That's I'm using rally block tyres that do bite into the lumpy surface. As I found last year they are fine over 50mph but I don't know at what speed they start having issues. Looking forward to results Sunday. You are too late to include yourself though 🤣😂
You know, I thought about running a rally block, just to see... Maybe I will next time. 🤔
As for the scoreboard, I know a guy who knows a guy who says he can get me on. Lol! 😂

we got 34 out of the 12 turn dynamite 550 with the 1060, stock transmission gears and 26t pinion.

Many people overlook this..... a higher C rating will definitely increase the speed!

Agreed, pal. It's time to switch thi gs up a little. New tires, battery, etc... I think that's a 50c pack, I'd have to double check. 👍🏻
MST AD8 831009 or Tamiya 60D Radial Soft 300054995 with inserts. The mst's where a bit better over the 60D soft. Need to look for wheel size. M chassis has 55mm and 60mm. Think yours are 60 diameters.
@@Particular_Sky I used the old M-chassis S-grips back in the day, carpet racing. They worked really well. Is that what you're referring to?

If you have adjustable toe ...toe in the rear wheels just a little bit.

Sometimes it does that. I'm still sorting it out with my new radio and esc. I just get impatient and start driving fast. Lol.
Get a radeon 2 or find a vintage race motor from back in the day.

It's unfortunate that I can't afford to do the challenge. I have a 1000 foot smooth empty parking lot 1/2 mile from my house at my disposal.

Maybe need some WD40 on those tyres or some Duct tape and go Red Green style that will give some grip 😂 Did you try to put the motor pinion on the small part of the gear in the gear box?
Is WD40 on foams still a thing? I remember doing that back in the 90's.
@@poorboysrc it's a thing still, though the moving the pinion to the smaller gear is. Sorry I can't the spped run. I'm on holidays again then start a new job and off to Vietnam for work.

They will be greasy for a few passes but once they wear off the top layer they grab hard.
