Ascension/Jump/The Festival are meant to be interpreted together. They represent dying and ascending to heaven. Just like So It Goes on Swimming. Grand Finale on Faces. Youforia on Watching Movies. He had been leaving us with closing thoughts on every full project from 2013 to 2018...just in case he passed. Genius.
Puck Daily, the definition of genius is “exceptional intellectual or creative power or other natural ability.” Mac went through a lot of shit from a very early age and then continued to fight for a very long time. i’d be surprised if you or anyone else would’ve made it as long as he did and still manage to make phenomenal music whilst setting yourself apart from the rest of the rappers out there. His passing left a huge impact not only on his fans but also his family and friends and anyone whoever saw that pure heart of his. It’s a shame for sure, but i would call mac miller a genius before i said that about anyone else in the rap game. he went down a legend.
@@PuckDaily You guarantee you've been through more but you also don't have millions to blow on whatever you want and have parents that gave you a predisposition on hard drug use. Good Music Mac Miller’s music actually improved over time. He’s been in the game for a while and you can tell his music evolved. GO:OD AM was a project I slept on when it came out. I was going to school in Pittsburgh from 09-13 and I got put on to Mac when him and Wiz did a concert together my sophomore year. After that we bumped him so heavy when we were getting ready to go out. Mac had so much energy live bro. This comment will probably be lost in the masses, but all of Mac's albums/mixtapes after BSP, with the exception of the Divine Feminine, end with his death. I remember hearing an interview after the Divine Feminine dropped where he said that the Divine Feminine was the only album he has released thus far that doesn't end with his death. Go and listen to the last songs from Macadelic, WMWTSO, Faces, and GO:OD AM. The last songs all signify his death.
I can see all except watching movies with the sound off. Youforia seems to be a song of love and Triumph. Like what you’d wanna hear after a good acid trip
You must've missed divine feminine then. He's got a line that's like " I'm the only one with a widowed lover". I forget the word he used exactly, but he just wanted his story to include some love. For some reason it wasn't enough to stay though. I don't get it but I understand he's at piece now.

Glad you guys are listening to Mac's albums, I am so blessed to be one of those many that listened to Mac starting from K.i.D.S., and watching him drop albums constantly growing as an artist. Non of his albums are the same, they all depict his state of mind at the time being.
In regards to the album name, it was stylized as "GO:OD AM" to represent a digital clock. Originally the project was going to be titled "Good Morning" But was switched for the stylization.
At least, that's the story I heard, that Mac didn't realize the "Go OD" reference until after it came out.
Nathafafin yeah he 100% did not title it to stand for that bullshit. I hate that people out there are saying that. This album was literally him finally getting off drugs
Facts! He said this in his interview with POWER 105. Producer NO I.D. was actually the one that gave him the idea to switch it to Go:od am.
‘hunnid g’s in my jeans ima genius” fav line of all time. the way he delivers it is crazy
The baseball reference is a reference to Roberto Clemente. He's considered the greatest baseball player in Pirates history
Thanks for giving me an intro to Mac Miller.
We need a hold that throwback for man on the moon 1. Or more of those in general
Macadelic was Mac’s first project when he really started spitting. I definitely recommend
Kind of I see what you're saying but that's not completely true. He's been spitting since High Life. Macadelic he just got deeper and his subject matter changed.
I remember going to 3 different stores looking for this CD when this album dropped.
This was refreshing to watch you both experience this album for the first time. Keep up the great work!
