Faces is one of the greatest projects ever in my opinion. This mixtape has help me through so much. I am forever grateful for Mac and what he has done for me and my friends. He put his life into his music and i thank him.
Fame will do that to people. I don't know if it's the money or everyone having an opinion of you or just a combination but people always seem to struggle with their fame.
YESS and top tracks from that one are Aquarium, Youforia, SDS, The Star Room, Claymation, Matches, Goosebumpz, Avian, Suplexes Inside of Complexes and Duplexes, and of course ReMEMber. The whole album is amazing as hell.
Would love a Mac Miller Szn done in order (obviously tough now). Starting with one of his earlier albums, probably 'Best Day Ever' then moving to his first step into his artistic reinvention with 'Macadelic', then onto 'GO:OD AM', then 'The Divine Feminine' and finishing off with 'Swimming'. Throwing in WMWTSF after 'Macadelic' would be ideal but that's a lot of reviewing and material in general.
@@taylorgarst2289 agreed. Also really want a review of the live from space cut, even if it's just the live version of WMWTSO. The extra songs at the end need reviewing
Taylor Garst can’t miss wmwtso. My favorite album of all time. This album was a huge jump from any of his previous music, huge difference between what we made before
As a lyricist he’s so under appreciated imo. His rhyme schemes and word play were extremely impressive and a lot a ppl overlook that aspect of his music.
You are a real listener man.. We appreciate you, i honestly feel like you catch more by youself, rather then the two. Just cause it cuts out any side coversations between ya an your buddy from rock reacts. focuses more on the music at hand.
Grand Finale actually was intended to be just that. He said in an interview later on. This mixtape was HAUNTING but it's still in my top 3 of his, easy.
@@SK-pg9mi In a 2015 interview with Billboard, he said that he was doing drugs every day and was in a really dark period. If you Google "Mac Miller Billboard interview", you can find the article.
Can't believe it's been a year. This was the first rapper I got into when discovering hip hop. He's had a huge impact on me growing up and graduating high school and getting out into the real world. This mixtape comes from a dark place in his story. A lot of introspective and dark lyrics on this one but arguably his best work. I'm glad he seemed to recover from this darkness for awhile. I hope he's in peace now. RIP to the big homie
Brandon Jobson hey sorry for the late reply! but I have some alternative faces artwork on my forearm done by an artist named kodonism u could check it out if you’d like my twitter and ig are @Flyanide much love
Mac made the song Grand Finale with the intentions of it being his last song he ever made on earth and it being his literal grand finale, but luckily for us we got four more wonderful years of Mac Miller. Wish he were still here. #ripmac
Thank you so much for doing this, Jon. I've been waiting for you to get into some more Mac and this was such a great way to start. I knew you would appreciate it and I'm happy you gave Faces the thought and attention it deserves. Looking forward to you discovering more of Mac's discography on this channel.

I’m at the halfway point of your review and I can honestly say with confidence that I appreciate you for reviewing this mixtape with such an open mind and perspective. Dealing with addiction myself it’s honestly a bit settling that I’m able to here someone else actually give a respectable description of us addicts go through and all the issue with control and personality and the way we view life. Respects! Good watch
Oh for sure. Very interesting to see Jon’s reaction with this as an introduction to Mac compared to if he started with say Good AM.. it definitely showcases everything that Mac has to offer (i.e., production, bars, deep thought, existential dread) so I’m glad he went with Faces tbh. By far my favorite piece from Mac’s catalog 🤙🏽
That's one of my fav mac songs, especially because how psychedelic it is. How do you know that? Is there a video of him recording it or talkin about it? Someone link me lol
dude, loved your reaction to "funeral". some time ago was hoping you and Simon would give it a listen at one point, and you finally did. Despite how sad and tragic it seems now - it`s my all time favorite song from Mac. Much love Jon. *to add - this whole mixtape is phenomenal, glad you reacted to it.
Please please keep listening to his music. It's an amazing journey even if it does break my heart listening to some of the songs again after whats happened, i still catch myself doing it. i love Mac and i think you will truly get a better understanding of him if you go through his whole discography. Excited for more Mac videos. I completely understand the need to hear Faces, but it gives so much depth and perspective to do them in order. From 18 - 26 he really showed a ton of growth as a person and a musician and it wild to reminisce about it. As much as his early stuff isn't my favorite anymore, it shows how talented he was at rapping even if it was about about middle class white kid topics. It goes to show you anyone can have vices and you can't do it alone. Rest in power

Love this reaction! Always come back to it now and then. Love how different people can react to the lines, Jon's taken back by some of the suicidial lyrics on here but as a suicidal person, those lines are more comedic than pause-inducing. Rip Mac, you in my top 10 brother, swg I ain't racist.

His best rap project in my opinion. Not as refined as his albums. But as far as demonstrating how well he could write/rap (not to mention while being on an assortment of drugs) this was his best work.

& Watching movies with the sound off is a phenomenal album
I've been waiting for another faces reaction 3rd one on youtube thank u for this its always amazing seeing other people react to music that idk anyone else listens to
React to Mac Miller -swimming album #ripMac
I swear he already did on Rock Reacts
@@aKidNamedBrady I know they reacted to Ladders, not sure if they did the whole album
CAN'T WAIT FOR OCT 15! 🤗
Mac had one of the honest pens of all time!
I’ve decided you are the only reaction guy qualified to analyse and fully appreciate this album 🤣👏🏻 Thanks for doing it justice!
Thank you so much for this John! I’ve been requesting this since you started doing these reviews. Please give us Mac season! You need to hear everyone of his projects from blue slide park to swimming! You need to experience his growth as an artist. You will not regret it. Please John I beg you!
You gotta do Swimming. I can't listen to 2009 without tearing up still.
Still listen to this mixtape 6 times a month
Fav tracks are Funeral and New Faces v2
Important to note, most of his music is his production (if not all of it). He's very musically inclined at all levels. Love it.
YES YES YES YES YES YES I BEEN WAITING OMFG TIME TO SPARK THIS BLUNT AND WATCH THIS REACTION
Edgar Herrera same
“Getting wasted is the time I’m spending high and sedated” that Earl bar is so fire hahah... watched this video a thousand times man, forever grateful for this review JD 🤙🏽
So happy you did this! RIP Mac.
Mac tiny desk concert pls ❤️
Great and underrated mixtape. Brings me back to highschool days. RIP Mac
His best rap project in my opinion. Not as refined as his albums. But as far as demonstrating how well he could write/rap (not to mention while being on an assortment of drugs) this was his best work.
The drugs make this better-and the main attraction of this for me is tha overall atmosphere and vibe
Hats off to you for reacting to such a long mixtape. I hope you enjoyed it! One of my favourite tapes of all time
Would love a Mac Miller Szn done in order (obviously tough now).
Taylor Garst if he’s gonna go thru the Mac catalogue he’s gotta start with kids. That’s the young Mac. The kool aid and frozen pizza Mac. Senior skip day mac. That shit is so reminiscent of high school and youth in general. Nostalgia incarnate
@@shackett104 I agree, it was a toss-up between Kids and Best Day Ever. Just so he can see what early Mac sounded like
Brilliant video. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire thing
