Prime tried to talk me into a lease purchase contract and thankfully I did my research and told them to go to hell. With the inward AI cameras, I'll never work for Prime. In fact, I'm probably going to get out of the trucking industry completely
So, my trusty financed truck decided to have a meltdown in the middle of Ohio. No big deal-I just rented a car and took my dog on a shotgun road trip all the way down to South Texas. Goodbye, trucking industry! I'd rather do just about anything that’s a 9-to-5, Monday-to-Friday gig. Learning to live with less but gaining more freedom sounds like a fair trade. No more being a prisoner in a sleeper cab or turning into a nocturnal creature. Finally, I'll get some family time, work out, and maybe even take care of myself a bit. Who knew living like a regular human was an option? Chapter 7, here I come! Chapters 1 through 6 are now just scenic stops in the rearview mirror. Buckle up for the next thrilling episode of "My Life in Financial Follies!"
Problem with having a fleet with basically all lease drivers is the company doesn’t need to negotiate a good rate to pay a truck note, maintenance, driver etc. They don’t care what these loads pay and they undercut the competition because these lease drivers are shouldering all the costs involved for the company.
I'm a lease operator for prime inc Been a lease operator owner and owner operator my truck got too old I purchased it through their lease program. I started back in 2003 its now 2024 . 21 years over the road . I got pretty much 11 years with Prime inc . Best company ever. I won't roll with anybody else. I make big paychecks. Every week . Get back with me and I'll show you my settlements
Hang in there. Refer solo prime here. The loads are picking up not because of economy, Primes screwed up with this camera deal. Freight is picking up due to abandon ship. Just this week students are graduated at 30k instead of 50. Why, Primes got more Freight than drivers due to everyone quiting due to the camera scare. Trust me, things are turning up for drivers who stick it out.
I feel you there. I keep hearing that it's picking up, but I just don't see it in my revenues. I'm seeing more freight, sure, but these loads are paying complete crap sometimes. So at the end of the day, we I still lose. I'm running harder for not even the same amount of money. It's actually less. I'm trying to remain optimistic because I just started this venture, but I'm really being forced to reevaluate my position here! And there seems to be no end in sight!
I had the exact same experience last week at a capstone facility in Buffalo. At 7pm they opened the floodgates and trucks just POURED in and were everywhere trying to park and get in to docks at the same time. The most unorganized nonsense I’ve ever witnessed.
I don’t know man I’m about to hit a new a company starting this month but it’s lease to own , great company , a great truck price a week for new Pete, the drivers are making 1500-2k a week consistently after all expenses. Contracted freight. I think prime just F*** y’ all with these rates man honestly. Glad I left when I did I’d be so screwed. Got out just in time.
Prime keeps booking these cheap loads because they get paid no matter what. Every load a lease op runs is pure profit, those cheap loads add up for them.
One of my drivers went from Vermont to Utah for a $1.35 this week 🤦🏾♂️ I was too happy about that. 6 days wasted with no real revenue to the truck so I definitely understand
Respect your hustle but I’m not being gone from gone that long… I feel like 2 weeks is to long let along 2 months. I’m looking for something now to get gone weekly
Go home dude, I know you got a plan but your family needs you. No matter what the wife trys to tell you. You next road is better. This one isnt it. Your giving up way to much. I quit OTR when my son turned 1. My wife did all she could but she needed me home. Best move I ever made. Scary but best move.
I dont get it. I haul dry van and never look at a load under $2.30. I dont think rates are going off a cliff. I think the rates that Prime is offering you is going off a cliff because Prime does a fugaroo to you. I'm so glad I left Wilson and went to the blue star.
Honestly man, have you thought about just turning the trucks in and getting a compnay job that is local ? You'd get to see your kid more. I just don't understand missing family this much. I don't have a family, but if I did, no business would keep me away
There’s gonna be a lot of people that are gonna say that they have not felt the low rate and they’re just lying. Thank you for being honest and I’m feeling the same thing. I’m just burnt the hell out. I’m glad I’m not the only one appreciate your video.
You are only guaranteed $1.10 mile at prime !! Go back and look at rates in 2008 and 2009 the last time frieght took a crap !! If you cant run and live on $1,50 mile better get out now
Bro, nobody takes you seriously when you complain about something so hard and tell us if this place was the worst place you’ve ever been to, but won’t name the place
Pretty sure I explained in great detail why I don’t. Additionally, I have zero fucks to give on whether or not anyone takes me seriously. I share the journey as I want. 🤷

It blows my mind with people who have kids and never wanna go home and get a local job, but be on the road for months and never be in the kids’ lives
The amount of prime drivers who know absolutely nothing about trucking except whatever prime wants them to know is crazy to me
We got another super trucker in the comments here…
I turn my truck in Monday done with Prime
Problem with having a fleet with basically all lease drivers is the company doesn’t need to negotiate a good rate to pay a truck note, maintenance, driver etc. They don’t care what these loads pay and they undercut the competition because these lease drivers are
shouldering all the costs involved for the company.
Trucking isn't for everybody. Especially for those who came in with no plan and no mental support.
I used to stay out 10-12 weeks, I realized I hated the world after about 8 weeks, now I take 10 days off every 6-8 weeks, burnout is real.

Why do you waste your time there brother. As a company driver I bring home 2k every week with no expenses to me. It's a bad time to lease brother.
I feel you there. I keep hearing that it's picking up, but I just don't see it in my revenues. I'm seeing more freight, sure, but these loads are paying complete crap sometimes. I know that burned out feeling.
You can’t really fight it either. Once it takes hold it’s game over.
Thank you for the video

I got out when rates went below $3.00 a mile. Luckily I had the truck and trailer paid off. Bad thing is I still have debt to pay for.
Prime keeps booking these cheap loads because they get paid no matter what. Every load a lease op runs is pure profit, those cheap loads add up for them.
The ground wire to your battery from the apu is loose, that’ll fix your cooking issue. I went through the same thing.
How are you washing/cleaning your air fryer? That was one of the biggest reasons i struggled with eating on the truck instead of eating out.
In the mid 1990s when I began reefer otr, it was well known that Prime LO could hardly go home due to finances.
One of my drivers went from Vermont to Utah for a $1.35 this week 🤦🏾♂️ I was too happy about that. 6 days wasted with no real revenue to the truck so I definitely understand
Prime is killing me and I have an cancelled load and I’m not making any progress nor money
Sounds like you need a break! And while rates might not be in the toilet exactly, they might be on the rim..,
Definitely circling the rim 😩
its a race to the bottom, company lowers the rates and has more freight till the next guy steals it away with even lower rates!
Respect your hustle but I’m not being gone from gone that long… I feel like 2 weeks is to long let along 2 months. I’m looking for something now to get gone weekly
Good thing your boss has drove.
The sacrifice of long haul trucking is palpable.
My son is a current LO from Sprimo. He is bailing in a month for a company otr reefer job.

How many trucks do you have with prime
I spent 11 hrs at receiver in Pennsylvania 530 am capstone and my last two drops got pushed till Monday and I lost my new ppl
I'm out for months so when I go home I'm there for a week. Left out for two weeks and went back home for another week.
You may have a plan but the industry doesn’t have a plan for you
I dont get it. I haul dry van and never look at a load under $2.30. I dont think rates are going off a cliff. I think the rates that Prime is offering you is going off a cliff because Prime does a fugaroo to you. I'm so glad I left Wilson and went to the blue star.
Here 🎉
Say no to cheap freight if you haul cheap freight prices will never go up
Sounds like a Pepsi Plant
I feel you on that but not this time.
Been out 4 months now been driving 2 years n I’m burnt out as well
Also look into a portable generator I bought one for $400 with 2600watts
The Cubs won their World Series with Red Sox players brought over by an ex Red Sox GM. Just in case you didn’t know or had forgotten lol
Prime is either going to sell or go bankrupt
Sounds like Mclane. ALDIs would be my next guess. Tanker is way better
Company LTL guys.
Look into it.
On a $1.45 load, does that include fuel for you?
Yep that’s with fuel surcharge. = Ass
Man you need to get home. Hopefully it will be soon.
Is your name joe
flatbed doim real bad for me
Why are the rates gradually falling if these are contract lanes?
I believe they just went through renegotiation. Also it’s possible contracts are shorter because shippers have the upper hand at moment.
Sounds like us foods
Honestly man, have you thought about just turning the trucks in and getting a compnay job that is local ? You'd get to see your kid more. I just don't understand missing family this much. I don't have a family, but if I did, no business would keep me away
take a break man

Sounds like your fault pal
🤷
