Bruce Springsteen - Waiting On The End Of The World

- For one deadly love like a disease
I came to you crawlin' on my knees
Your eyes filled with rain
I can feel poison runnin' through my veins
I'm waitin'
I'm waitin'
I'm waitin', waitin' on the end of the world
I'm waitin'
I'm waitin'
For one deadly kiss what would we give
Your skin tremblin' neath my fingertips
All I know is someday
For love, baby, everybody pays
I'm waitin'
I'm waitin'
I'm waitin', waitin' on the end of the world
I'm waitin'
I'm waitin'
We hide from truth in our hearts
Like one look and everything will fall apart
Here in your arms, soft decay
I can feel myself wastin' away
Will you meet me in the hall
Where light scatters and darkness falls
Here in this feast of friends
To break and begin again
I'm waitin'
I'm waitin'
I'm waitin', waitin' on the end of the world
I'm waitin'
I'm waitin'
I'm waitin', waitin' on the end of the world
I'm waitin'
I'm waitin'
I'm waitin', waitin' on the end of the world
I'm waitin'
I'm waitin'
I'm waitin', waitin' on the end of the world
In 1994 Bruce cut an album with a band that consisted of some of the people that were on Human Touch/Lucky Town. The album was going to be called Waiting On The End Of the World. Back In Your Arms Again and Secret Garden were also recorded (although Secret Garden was actually originally an outtake from the Human Touch sessions). But Bruce abandoned the idea and went with the Greatest Hits project. But yes, Bruce attempted this song with the E Street Band for the 1995 Greatest Hits album. I personally wish they would've used the mistake free version of Back In Your Arms Again (not the Tracks version, which isn't nearly as good) for the Greatest Hits as opposed to re-recording This Hard Land from the Born In the USA sessions....one of the greatest performances in the history of the group. There does need to be a Tracks II. Bruce confirmed at the time of the Greatest Hits record that he recorded an entire album before writing Tunnel Of Love. He has all the 1994 songs. There are still Darkness/River outtakes worthy of release. The Nebraska/Born In The USA box set is a whole different deal. Bruce is sitting on maybe 60 songs from that era, and I am sorry, but the so-called Electric Nebraska needs to come out. They need to release the entire Nebraska demo tape (Losin' Kind is one of his best outtakes, and "Child Bride" is better than "Working On the Highway."). But he also has maybe 20 songs with titles like "Ida Rose," "Body and Soul," "Kings Highway,," "True Love Is Hard to Come by" that were seriously considered for Tracks that were Born In The USA outtakes.
Another song recorded for the "Waiting On The End Of The World" project was "Nothing Man," my favorite tune from "The Rising" album.
WOW!!! Thanks for that amazing info...this track is absolutely stellar!! Phenomenal!!
He wrote a lot of garbage too.
The only 3 things I can say about this song is: You will not expect this.... A MASTERPIECE ! A MASTERPIECE ! A MASTERPIECE !
it´s just incredible.... the boss a living legend...
Too good... Bruce is too damn good
beautiful song. this one deserves the light of day. it needs more than just a youtube video
❤️❤️I have never heard this song! Beautiful! Thank you!❤️❤️
We so much need a Tracks part II. Thanks for uploading this beautiful song.
I've never heard this one - bring on Tracks II
I downloaded this on a dial-up modem in 1999 and it took like 28 hours to download!
Kevin Drago me too!
that is commitment!!!! wow
I have had a copy of this song since atleast 1998. It has been in circulation for years. It is from the Human Touch/Lucky Town years. I can't remember the name of the set on the bootleg it is on but there are about 5 CD's that it comes with. Unreal huh. I love this and 30days Out. I hope they get released one day.
B&D Turner It's from the Greatest Hits session(s).
@@OelfredBiernot I believe the bootleg is Deep Down In The vaults
I believe this version is from the Greatest Hits sessions with the E St. Band (note the clarence sax solo) in January of 1995.
It's a crime not to release this beauty!
GRAZIE !! SALUTE !!
After the Berlin show 29.5.1999 we went back to our campground, listening to a Berlin radio station. They had a Springsteen special show with a hardcore fan in the studio. He brought some boots and they aired some of them. So I heard that awesome song for the first time. (If you are the guy in the studio - thank you very much! - pm...! I )
This is my favorite unreleased Springsteen song - and I'm grateful to have it in this good quality. Thanks for the upload!
This track should have been on high hopes , Briilliant .
especially because High Hopes was the worst album of his recording career. His outtakes from the post Human Touch/Lucky Town period haven't been nearly as good as his outtakes from before that period. We didn't need a studio version of "American Skin". The live version still is the finest version. Even the promo version he recorded for FM radio with the E Street Band in the early 2000's was better than the High Hopes version. Hell, even the version of "High Hopes" from the Blood Bros. EP is 5x better than the High Hopes version.
I'm growing very fond of this song nice slide show. Thanks for keeping it to the beat.
Recorded in January 1995 at The Hit Factory, New York City with the E Street Band. An earlier version was recorded in 1994 featuring Shane Fontayne and other members of the 1992-3 touring band.
+deeestuary Is this on a cd?
#deeestuary I'm sorry but that's not possible. I heard this version of the song on a B-leg called "missing tracks from USA". So I guess it has been recorded somewhere in the 80s.
Sono d,accordo con Giulio la dipendenza e la voce straordinaria di Bruce!con la sua musica ci fa stare bene!! 😀😅😅🤩🤩😍😍💔🎶💎🎸💋
That touring band could shred. The Altantic City on xxPlugged is outstanding
Bruce is truely great ! the only person i have ever admired with all my heart.
so che sarà scontato e banale, ma grazie di esistere...davvero....
Never heard before - thank you!
Love Bruce !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great photo collection - thanks!
Wonderful
very good! thanks for posting it. I touched The Boss in Madrid, 1988, tunnel of love express but I have no images of that except in my mind... Since then I never washed my hand again... ;)

wish i could get a copy of this song, love it!!!
Let's live and let live : )
This song is absolutely incredible. Why never released?
Same with this song. Most likely came from the unreleased (relationship) album bruce was hoping to release in 1994. but never did.
Unfortunately, he was just too afraid that he had written too many albums about relationships, which is what the Waiting Until the End of The World album was about. It might've hurt his commercial potential as an artist as he was primarily known as a topical songwriter. More importantly, he was NEVER going to top "Tunnel of Love" as a relationship album.....an album that I feel is the best record he's made since "Nebraska" and the 4th best album he's ever made in his entire recording career. So we got the "Greatest Hits" album, which was cool in some ways, but a disaster in other ways. The decision to re-record "This Hard Land," a Born In The USA outtake that Max Weinberg feels is the greatest song Bruce ever wrote, was awful. Also, the decision to put "Back In Your Arms" on Tracks as opposed to the original version (which eventually produced an unbelievable take after the bad take in the Blood Bros. film) was one of the worst errors of Bruce's recording career. The original "Back In Your Arms Again" was a MASTERPIECE. "Back In Your Arms" from Tracks is boring as hell.
Cool!
❤
30 Days Out has already been released on many singles as bonus.
was this released anywhere ?
What cd is this from?
fucking great !!
It's Max, though I get why you think it sounds a little downplayed. But this was recorded during the Greatest Hits session with This Hard Land, etc.
However, Max said in his interview with Backstreets in 1984 that "This Hard Land" - the version that was recorded in 1982 for Born In The USA - was the greatest song Bruce ever composed. Why wasn't THAT version not used on the Greatest Hits albums is beyond me. One of the worst decisions Bruce has ever made musically speaking. The two songs are not even CLOSE. The 1982 version is one of his best songs and should have been put on Born In The USA ahead of several songs.
Bruce Springsteen is actually real music compare to today's crap.
Well...that's definitely Clarence on the sax but definitely not Max on the drums or Roy on the piano...it sounds like something Bruce did on his own so maybe Clarence is overdubbed...great song but perhaps we'll hear the real story if Tracks 2 is ever released...one can hope.
It is 100% Max and Roy...this song was recorded during the Blood Brothers sessions in January 1995 (the same time that High Hopes, Blood Brothers, and Secret Garden were recorded)...even by the snare drum you can tell it's Max - the snare sounds EXACTLY the same as the songs I previously mentioned, reinforcing the fact that they're all from the same session.
Michael - The song was originally done for an unreleased album in 1994 of the same name, but it was redone for the 1995 Greatest Hits record. This is the redone version w/ the E Street Band. It is well known. Go to Bruce's wiki page. Keep in mind that Clarence only played sax on three songs on Darkness on the Edge of Town. So just because doesn't appear on a Bruce tune doesn't mean that the E Street Band did not record it.
At $5,000 (for some seats), do you want to hear Born to Run or Cindy? Btw: The Rolling Stones do not play about 30 of their charted hits - EVER. Yet, what they perform is 90 percent of YOUR favorite Stones' songs. Cindy? ua-cam.com/video/XhldErl0n_I/v-deo.html
Sounds like an early version of Empty Sky....
yeah, it really does
I’m hearing an early version of land of hope and dreams
Interesting you should say this because Bruce wrote a "Rising" song called "Nothing Man" for the "Waiting Until The End of the World" unreleased album from 1994. He resurrected "Nothing Man" for "The Rising." A lot of people don't realize that one of the Boss' greatest songs, "Secret Garden," was an OUTTAKE from the "Human Touch" recording sessions. He is not adverse to bringing songs back from the past, which is why archival releases must be hard for him. He is sitting on so many potentially great tunes. It's why a tune like "Stray Bullet" from "The River" sessions did not appear until the "River" box set came out. "Stray Bullet" is better than 80%+ of the songs on "the River." He had a chance to put it on "Tracks," "Greatest Hits," "The Essential," and so on. The man is so prolific as a writer it is insane. He STILL has leftover songs from "The River" that were considered for various compilations. I feel at some juncture he's just going to need to make all this stuff available.....like his live concert site where people can buy his classic concerts on CD, FLAC, etc.
this band workout number sounds like a tunnel of love leftover. it sets an excellent mood and its just great to hear the band, except for poor clarence who is unfortunately buried way too deep in this unfortunate bootleg mix.
Bruce confirmed in an interview in 1995 that he recorded an album before the sessions for "Tunnel of Love." Don't get me wrong, I love these box sets based around his classic records, but he has unreleased albums and various odd tracks lying about that need to see the light of day. There needs to be a Tracks Part II.
Guess, you'll be leaving the US. in Dec, when the Donald is re-elected. Bon voyage, Boss. It's been sweet.
This comment aged badly
@@Lodosj I think Garrett Davis is mistaking Bruce for Alex Baldwin. I do not recall Bruce ever saying that, and I have read or heard every interview he has done. Baldwin did say that, and he is an idiot. An actor is not a songwriter. Songwriters since the medieval times have been critics of society and represent a perspective of the larger society we live in. They do it from an artistic view, which is a different way of looking at things. People who say that songwriters should only entertain have no understanding of the history of music as an art form. Whereas actors are just celebrities who interpret the roles of other people. Their opinions regarding politics, philosophy, psychology, etc., have far less validity.
