This song brings back memories for me in 1985 when I was travelling around the UK. It was a big hit there and they played it on Top of the Pops all the time. Great song.
A beautiful song which makes me cry every time I listen to it. Brings back wonderful memories of my wife and I when we danced together and were so much in love. Times change, circumstances change but, I will still love her forever. xxx
Am from liverpool in the uk am not bothered what people say this song is amazing especially when she sing move closer move your body real close until we but that we when she carries it on is absolutelly amazin love it an am only 24 but the old songs r classics
God bless women first, who have the power to make men become tender. If it weren't for them, men would always be waging war and fighting each other. Women bring men that peace and love they need, and also that common sense they sometimes lack, heheh Life is so sweet thanks to women...
I remember dancing a slow dance to this with a random guy in 1985, i was 15 and thought i was so grown up, when rhe song finished and he asked to see me again i ran as fast as my legs could carry me haha
Used to smooch to this in the bars and discos on Jalan Legian Kuta in the 80's. RIP all those lost in the Sari Club inferno, I still remember my favourite bar staff, Made and Wayan.
WOW! This has GOT to be one of the most beautiful love songs of ALL time! As two Gary, Indiana girls, she and Denise Williams sound alike! SPOOKY! P.S: I think Denise should re-record this as she did "It's Gonna Take a Miracle!"
One of the most beautiful, sensual expressions of love ever. Phyllis Nelson died of breast cancer in 1998. My mum was diagnosed in 2007 but caught it early so we get to keep her for a while yet. Remember your romances and wedding days fondly but also that self examination and regular medical checks might have you dancing to this at your children's and grandchildren's weddings and that would be the best of gifts.
I heard this song 12 years ago on a British Airways flight from Atlanta, and had been looking for it - it popped into my head 30 minutes ago, and found it on the internet in 5 min. Thank god for You Tube!!
I love this album; 1984 or '85 or so. She sounds a lot like Denice Williams in this song. I live in San Francisco, and was so at the time of the release of the "Move Closer" album (I always referred to it as the "I Like You" album.) I played this song over and over, and never realized that it was a big "hit" only in Europe (the UK, for that matter), and not in the USA as was "I Like You." What a beautiful song.
So many memories flood back! Superb tune, beautifully sung and full of emotion. have the 12" in my loft. Back in the day I would play it for the honeyz, now I would play it for my kid, while they say how old I am!
this was my parents song, they split a long time ago. always makes me think of them, and how wonderful things must have once been for them to have this song as their special song
This song is for tender dancing. Could easily calm down the most rutheless man in the world and bring him to love, no doubt about it. It doesn't matter how much anger you feel, as soon as you hear this song you need to be in front of a beautiful girl, half close your eyes, dance slowly... and when she close her eyes, KISSANOVA!!! There's no woman you can hate with this song. God bless women.
This song is unique. Its the song someone special and I, had as 'our' song. Someone special who is no longer with us. Listening to it reminds me that she's no longer here, that 'our' song is heard by only me, instead of us. Yet, it makes me think of the good times we shared. The silly things we did together, things only 'us' would find funny, enjoyed doing. It makes me smile aswel as upsets me...no other song could do that
To be honest, I had no clue she died. Too sad...I will lose my brother within a year to bladder cancer. Going to be tough. I alread lost my parents, my dad in 1982, my mom in 2002. I almost gave up on my sweet wonderful woman, luckily that is all going very well now. This song always triggered the longing to be with someone special...I am now....
