    The launching dock is taken away from late Dec to Mar?

    Love these videos. New to kayaks and this takes a lot of anxiety out about going to a new place to launch. Thank you very much.

    Another great video. Hey dude does the "opening" of the calm king harbor to the open seas ever get sketchy entering & exiting?

    • @adventureforth4389

      For sure. The mouth of the harbor will often have the sketchiest water, with turbulence and swells that are hard to read and unpredictable. If you have a pedal-driven kayak, always have the paddle in hand when you are near the mouth.
      The mouth of the harbor seems safer because you are close to shore, but imo, you are actually much safer a couple of miles offshore. I posted a video where we rescued a guy who had flipped his kayak at the mouth of Redondo (King Harbor). And then there is the video where we had to be rescued by the Coast Guard.

    How is the paddle from RAT Beach to the PV kelp beds? I was thinking of hitting the kelp now that the weather is starting to warm up. Any tips for the PV kelp beds?

      hi there, it's a piece of cake. the question is: do we want to deal with the 50+ yd drag through the soft sand and risk a beach launch to save 1 hour of easy paddling?

    Looking to get a Kayak but definitely worried about launching from the surf, great video this helps alot thank you!

      You are most certainly welcome. Easiest launch is probably Marina del Rey: ua-cam.com/video/7_VX0nX-AxE/v-deo.html

    You can fish deeper than 350 just not for rockfish. That’s where the big sharks, tuna and swordfish hang out.

    Dude, love the videos you make. Can you launch from rat beach just to be a little closer to rocky point? I know beach launch is more difficult but would that make for a closer paddle?

    • @honeybadgervoodoooutdoors7305
      @honeybadgervoodoooutdoors7305  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks. Yes, you can launch from Rat, and I have, but I just don't think it's worth the hassle. There is a beach drag to the water, you get sand everywhere, and of course you risk getting tossed during the launch/landing. And unless you only plan on working the kelp, launching from Rat Beach doesn't save you any time/distance.

      @@honeybadgervoodoooutdoors7305 are you gonna do another meet up there sometime in the future? For people that are just getting into it? I could really learn a thing or two.
