Some of the featured songs were freshly released just shortly before the event: Midge Ure released the cover version of Tom Rush song No Regrets as his first solo single 2 months before the event. Phil Collins played the drums also on the studio version of Worse than Detroit on Plant's first solo album Pictures at Eleven, which was released just 3 weeks before the event. Peter Hope-Evans played harmonica also on the studio version of Slit Skirts on Townshend's solo album All the Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes, which was released just one week before the event.
Never seen this before, despite seeing Genesis and The Who several times. Great performance of A Whiter Shade of Pale, despite there being what seems a voltage issue with the organ which is out of tune. Unless I missed it, the player isn't visible, so makes me think it's a tape they're playing to at not quite the right speed, although that seems improbable as Phil Collins doesn't appear to be using anything to give him the timing. That said, Phil seems quite in awe of working alongside Gary Brooker who sounds great.
Phil Collins was on from the first hit on the skin. But the band was not really playing as a unit, first. Pete Townshend sung a lot better, and "Let My Love ..." did not sound too good. "Slit Skirts" then was a lot better. As well, I like Phil Collins drumming here. Man, why did he put the sticks down, what a shame. Gary Brooker sang ok, but the song ... ok, they tried. "The wedding list" received a lukewarm reception, I think it was pretty good. To me one of the highlight, and Kate Bush is amazing.
MICK KARN
Phil 🥁👍
Despite the fact that they murdered the Sly & The Family Stone jam, this is still awesome footage.
Mick Karn... Bass God!...R.I.P........
There's some absolute class on show here but Mick Karn shines through ! Absolute genius and massively missed talent !

Pete 👍👍
Oh Kate. How I love thee.
That bass!
The brilliant Robbie blunt on guitar 🎸 with Robert plant
Mad line-up!
OMG! I never thought id hear Pete Townshend doing take you Higher
❤je ne connaissais pas ce groupe j'aime bien 👍 direct dynamique et ils sont charmants,,, j'aime beaucoup
C'était une groupe assemblée pour une seule soirée. Des musiciens excellents de The Who, Genesis, Japan, Ultravox, Led Zepp, Kate Bush, Procul H. etc.
Fantastic stuff❤
Reminded me of the England football team - individually brilliant but chronically under-rehearsed as a team and thus a hard watch!
What a great upload
That was Gary Brooker on piano not "Procol harum" as in the end credits!

Nu-wave Pete had just 'retired' the Who (for the first time)
Kate Bush's song is called The Wedding List, not Wedding Party.
The LaserDisc jacket had the song titled as The Widow even. Fixed it up.
No mention of Gary Brooker?
Let's get Gary Brooker in there too. Done.
Is that Wilko in the crew-cut and harmonica?
Robert Plant is singing WORSE THAN DETROIT, not I DON’T KNOW 🙄
Better check that again. Sometimes these Japanese Laserdiscs mangle the titles. Fixed it.
Phil Collins can play drums on any song

Shame about the poor sound and production. Just compare it to Trevor Horn's 2004 ensemble concert.
Kate fired her costume designer after this
It was a very strange cast here
Robert Plant looks mighty nervous and uncomfortable here.
Both his and Townshend’s fashion choices haven’t aged well. Yeah, it was a different time.
