Never seen this before, despite seeing Genesis and The Who several times. Great performance of A Whiter Shade of Pale, despite there being what seems a voltage issue with the organ which is out of tune. Unless I missed it, the player isn't visible, so makes me think it's a tape they're playing to at not quite the right speed, although that seems improbable as Phil Collins doesn't appear to be using anything to give him the timing. That said, Phil seems quite in awe of working alongside Gary Brooker who sounds great.

That with the National Anthem went completely wrong. To me it starts to get interesting at 27:54. Joan Armatrading is a most exquisite performer.

Phil Collins was on from the first hit on the skin. But the band was not really playing as a unit, first. Pete Townshend sung a lot better, and "Let My Love ..." did not sound too good. "Slit Skirts" then was a lot better. As well, I like Phil Collins drumming here. Man, why did he put the sticks down, what a shame. Gary Brooker sang ok, but the song ... ok, they tried. "The wedding list" received a lukewarm reception, I think it was pretty good. To me one of the highlight, and Kate Bush is amazing.

Reminded me of the England football team - individually brilliant but chronically under-rehearsed as a team and thus a hard watch!

Shame about the poor sound and production. Just compare it to Trevor Horn's 2004 ensemble concert.

A great songwriter n bassist, a great guitarist n a great drummer thats the recipe of a great legendary band. I like these guys.

Martin Short really steals the show here, as usual - he is right on with his Punk singer right down to the grimacing - the man is still a terribly under-rated talent.

This was a pay-per-view concert on TV and an incredible show. The Who, Elton John, Steve Winwood, Patti LaBelle, Phil Collins, amazing. I recorded it on VHS and I still have that tape.

And anyway no one was necessarily accusing the group of _exploiting_ those women (bar one or two puritanistic hacks) but for the rest of us, nope, it was fine, and of *_course_* they had the agency to say whether they wanted to do it or not...but I struggle to believe JJ when he says THEY approached _HIM,_ asking _"Oh, can we strip at your gig pleeease?"_ Far more likely it was cooked up by the group with willing participation from the laydeez. Did you not pay them then JJ? They just wanted to do it to _"empower themselves"_ did they? hahaha yeah right. As if they'd waste their time on you. They were _ALREADY_ empowered. Thanks for your efforts with the sound, it's fine actually, certainly punchy enough. What a band they had become by '82, with so much to draw from that back catalogue, from _Down In The Sewer_ to _European Female_ and back again. And just incredible onstage by then - always were, mind - but this is just _imperious._ "I'll see you in the sewer, darling, and don't be late" xD ♫

I saw Ultravox twice on the “Systems of Romance” tour and was mostly disappointed with their sound. On “Slow Motion” in particular, you could barely hear Chris Cross’ bass synth at all (no bass guitar) which really took the essential bass punch out of the song entirely. This performance sounds much better.

SCTV sliced up contemporary culture like pastrami at the corner deli. The lampooning of television culture shines through on several levels, and everytime I watch these skits, maybe I identify yet another level of humorous criticism. These skits were more than entertainment, they were sarcastic commentary too.

PERHAPS the best LIVE BRITISH BAND ever? (No FUSS, just three musicians...) I mean, ALL LIVE PERFORMANCE is good but THE POLICE actually took the piss? (They KNEW what they were doing even as they fought like Kilkenny Cats!!!) They BREATHED the same air... (EACH as good as the other...) No SUPERSTAR shows just THREE DUDES gelling and jamming... (Hearing each others HEARTBEAT...) Magnificent players... And GREAT SONGS, courtesy of HIMSELF! (But made GREAT SONGS by the other two???) Should have credited them for THAT WRITING and INPUT????
