Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra - Early Review and New Features

- The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra has just been released! I review the feature differences and give my expert opinion on what they will likely mean once we're able to buy them in our own home.
Please ask any questions in the comments. I kept the video short as we will be doing an in-depth review with proper testing after our own model arrives.
Impressive! The last years have had massive upgrades and milestones. now it seems like it's more into refinement and evolution of the docks. That plumbed version is a good move, ideal to be considered in architectural projects same as the dishwashers ones showed up. Thanks for the effort of quality content and reporting on the industry news. Cheers!
Thanks for the review! Looking forward to an in depth one when you get your hands on a model. And idea of NZ release dates. I’ve been waiting for a plumbed dock, side-cleaning, oscillating mop pads and toddler-proof AI. I guess I’ll be waiting for an upgrade of the S8 pro ultra tho because neither of the bots mentioned here tick all those boxes…..
I bought the S8 Pro from you guys and is really good. Though I do like the full camera, the corner extension and potentially a plumbed version of the dock. I'd be really interested in a comparison video closer to release. And if these features are released, could you include corner cleaning effectiveness, as well as this side mop, which is a bit of a let down with the S8 Pro
Yes, for sure! We will do our best to compare it all. This focus on side-cleaning is a really new thing and something robots have never really done. Quite cool to see it come. I suspect the overall performance won't be as significantly improved as the numbers suggest but I'd be happy to be wrong.
How does the cleaning solution get added? In the plumbed version. Also how does the waste water leave. Can it plumb like a dishwasher? Does it have the pumping power to overcome 20 inches of height. ?
Good question. I'm interest in how the cleaning solution is added in the plumbed version.
I removed the sink in my laundry room and have that spot ready for one of these machines. I am so impatient though, it's really difficult not to settle for the current q revo. @@mscartee
Any place to see the drain/supply spec, I am a couple months from rough in plumbing to my new house wantto make sure I am covered
Calling this a "review" is a bit of a stretch - but look forward to seeing all these new features being put to the test.
Maybe preview is better. But I want to differentiate it from the videos that are talking over stock images and stock footage
The thing is, roborock keeps increasing the suction levels but the airflow numbers… keep getting worse… this is concerning imo
The published statistic is pressure, not the airflow rate. CFM is a better representation of actual performance (as you said). It also depends how you measure the pressure, whereas CFM is more objective.
It looks like the same problem I have with S7 MaxV Ultra, is going to be on this new vacuum. I never refill the water tank on the vacuum on my own, because it auto fills it, but today, I was looking at the cashback offer, and cleaning it up for pictures, and there is brown build up or mold/mildew in the tank! So I have been cleaning my floors with dirty water! gross! I have found the same brown mildew in my clean water tank too, but Today is the first time I even looked at the vacuum's water tank. Please come out with a better solution to add to the Roborock products! It says you are only allowed to use Roborock cleaning solution, so now I don't know what to do!
Roborock just keeps raising the price. $1800 for the S8 Max V Ultra! I got my S8 Pro Ultra on Black Friday for $1200 (down from $1600) and I still found it’s a bit EXPENSIVE!
At this point I think I'll just hire a cleaning lady. At $15/hr ..
@@DanielWillenright.. but I want my floors clean every day so if I paid $140 a day for clean service, this machine would certainly pay for itself very very quickly. I agree though, this price is so high.. almost as much as some of my other large appliances in the home. I don't think id spend 1800 for an oven. But this thing is amazing.. and I'm assuming can be such a relief. I have dogs and kids who are constantly in and out of the house playing and I can't fathom having to mop every day!
Just got the Dreame d10s pro for 320 USD(price calculated from local currency, bought on black week). For that price it has everything we need: More than enough suction, good navigation, very large dust bin, and a camera to remotely spy on our pets😅. The battery is also good - The app reports 70m2 cleaned in one run in 140minutes on 2x, high suction power mode. The mopping wasn't top priority but we would like to try and the one mop pad is not enough. What is your experience with mopping pads? Is there any reason that I should buy the wildly expensive original parts(the one thing that I don't like about this robot) or is buying the not-original parts just fine(if not with Dreame than what is your experience with roborock or any other brand you tested)? Also we run it daily on the main floor for about 2 months now and it has already clocked more than 100hours of working time so I'm worried that we might be using it too much and it will break too soon. Should I? Is there a limit of working hours that if we exceed the warranty(24 months) will be unvalid?
Edit: Changed the numbers because I was writing them of memory and now I checked.
I just a little carried away(I don't write such long comments normally) but if you reply I would be very happy. Greetings from Poland!
The Dreame D10S Pro has pretty impressive performance for the price. I think you have chosen well! Use the after-market parts in my opinion if you want to save some money. It's made to be used! It will degrade faster if you use it, but it will degrade anyway even if you don't. No limit to hours for working with warranty!
All the best!
@@RobomateTVThanks!
Wow looks amazing
Curious if there's a version of this model with refill and drinage system capabilities. Also, wondering about any distinctions in performance and appearance compared to the version equipped with a water tank. Any insights?🤩
I doubt there’ll be any difference in performance. You can see the appearance in the video - the one working is the plumbed version, but it briefly shows a black version with water tanks.
Please do s8 maxv ultra vs s8 pro ultra and is it worth the upgrade?
Soon, probably! Only really worth the upgrade if you are really bothered by the edges. I wouldn't personally.
Also if the dock is able to backward compatible to the s8 pro ultra so just dock upgrade to auto refill!
@@GaryTay-b4p they are never backwards compatible exception was S7 and S7 maxv, that's why docks are not sold standalone
Ordered the S8 Max Ultra.
$200 off on amazon, I don’t want my vacuum to have a full color camera and don’t need voice control.
When is this shipping?
Looks like Q2 2024
Most likely after April 8 due to a certain irobot patent running out at that time too
My question is about matter support they mentioned that these robots will have matter support but will the s8proultra get matter support
There isn't much info out there yet at all... It should be clarified by the time we're ready to release our full video :)
Hello when it will be available in Europe?
April
I’m so excited to see how much they will jack the price up in Canada now…literally can’t wait. These are worth more than literal gold…shoot me now.
Haha that I can’t tell you, but we know it won’t be cheap
Move out of canada
Waw very impressive
Release date?
April 2024
It will depend a lot where you're from. I'm in New Zealand and sadly we're usually last@@marleychronic8530
