Great thorough comparison! Can they work on long-pole carpets ? And will they be able to go over a 1 cm floor separators, I have one at the kitchen entrance that is made of different flooring .

Great video! ASMR like for the win! I purchased the Roborock I basically filtered by price eBay was the most expensive was going to be the best. Normally works for me. I was extremely frustrated with the Roborock for the price, it failed almost every mission. It was in a 3 car garage with a black polished floor. No carpets and no fringe and nothing but vehicle tires. It acted as if it was a $200 robot from a Chinese rip off company. The water would need to be changed daily. It got lost and stopped and then ran out of battery 9/10 times. I found your video looking for an alternative and it’s clear from the video the x40 is better on a paper all around. Ordering now from Amazon. Will report back.

I skipped right to the verdict and there was a clear answer. I dislike non-committal "it depends," which is then followed up by a whole lot of disclaimers that, if taken together, clearly points to one of them being a winner.

I have the 6 MaxV and it's good but roborock dose have some quirks after some time like not docking properly,
And with object detection like eating cables along the way,
I've just bought the dreame and I'm looking forward for seamless cleaning..
I really hope so because it is SO expensive 😆

I have the Dream L10. While is does a great job over the last two months the mop pads (fabric part) have been coming off the plastic spinners. I believe the velcro on the plastic is breaking down and not gripping the fabric enough

You should email them to get a replacement. That sounds like a warranty issue

what could be better than a true honest feedback, most of the reviewers you could feel from the first word that its paid campaign, which is not here. Thank you!

I’m glad I got the X40 Ultra! But I will say it takes longer to clean my apartment than Roborock products did

I totally understand that the roborock can finish sooner depending on your home. The dreame x40 has to turn its mop extends and swing into edges while the roborock had the more practical pathing pattern.

@@TheFrenchGlow actually, I did return my Q Revo MaxV for the X40 and coming from the original Q Revo, the MaxV did have a different way of cleaning, it did squares instead of doing each whole room all at once, which I thought was odd, which did actually take longer. And got stuck on everything…

This was a great review and believe me I'm a bit of an expert on s8 MaxV Ultra and Dreame X40 UA-cam reviews because I think I've watched pretty much every one out there including a lot of German X40 reviews using the ability to turn on subtitles (in German) and have UA-cam auto-translate them into English in order to (mostly) understand them.
I have one big question I would value your thoughts on although sadly (for the question) I think you don't have any rooms with wall-to-wall carpets. From everything I've seen the Dreame doesn't use its side brush when on carpets/rugs. That's probably not such a huge issue for area rugs but for wall-to-wall carpet it means it won't get into edges and corners. In fact even for rugs it would seem to me to be a bit of an issue because it won't get right in around furniture legs or the edges of cabinets.
My one hope is that in a few reviews I've seen the app walkthrough show a screen with global options for carpets and the last option on the screen is "Ignore" which Dreame says is for homes with no carpets or with carpets that can be mopped and apparently if the Carpets/Ignore option is toggled on the X40 will basically treat carpet/rug areas like hard floors so will use the side brush. Have you tried that option at all?
What I'm thinking is that I get it to go and mop my kitchen and bathrooms then come back and leave its pads at the base before going out again to vacuum all my carpets. With Carpets/Ignore set to on I'm hoping that would mean it would have the side brush active for all of the carpet vacuuming. I assume that in theory it would never try to mop my carpets anyway so long as I always have the carpeted rooms set to vacuum-only but being able to leave the mop pads at the base gives extra reassurance that having the Carpets/Ignore option turned on won't cause any nasty mopping-the-carpets incidents.

Hi! I'll make a follow up video for you. I have a room with wall to wall, high pile to test on. It's interesting that they can patch it in if it doesn't already.

@@TheFrenchGlow Thank you so much. You are the best. I'll be really interested to see/hear how you get on.
The trend for hardwood floors has been going on for a long time but even after all these decades I think wall-to-wall carpet is still quite common in bedrooms so for a best-you-can-get (not to say amongst the most expensive!) robot vacuums on the market right now I really hope there is a workable solution to make it clean the edges and corners in carpeted rooms as well as hard floored ones.

    Dreame hands down.
I wish they had parts more available.

12:20 You should keep the dustbin inlet, outlet and filter sealing contact surfaces clean. Otherwise the airflow might bypass the bin and reduce efficiency, or even clog the vaccuum blower inlet.

The X40 hands down because you can buy a plumbing kit and never have to deal with emptyign tanks and filling tanks ever again. A no brainer in my opion. S8 you d have to buy the version that has plumbing and then you dont have tanks.
