- Could this be the best JCW Clubman I have ever driven ? after taking it to Lohen for a performance pack 2 this car is fast and with a Remus Cat back and a Cobra 200 cell sports cat it is VERY VERY LOUD.
Details of performance pack
Within this kit, we include a set of NGK performance spark plugs found in the JCW, High flow performance ITG filter that will help increase airflow, a Forge Motorsport performance intercooler to help keep your 2-litre turbo engine MINI at safe working temperatures and finally a 200 Cell Cobra Sport Sports Cat downpipe to help improve airflow from the turbo. The hardware modifications are then brought together with a Stage 2 ECU remap for your Cooper S or JCW.

A very much improved and linear torque and power curve, great job by the crew at Lohen. Easy to see how this improves the driving dynamic across the range. I bet Will is thrilled with the end result. Personally, I'd need that valve control, pops and bangs has its place but not constant in any given driving mode. Was the broken wire fixed? Keep up the good work Damian.
If you put it in green mode you don’t get the pops. The wire was not fixed yet so it’s still loud especially on cold start. Will seemed very happy with the car which is not surprising lol.
That's perhaps my point, you might want the performance of Sport mode and be discreet. The wire fix might reduce it somewhat.
It should do as it’s at 75% max volume so closed it will be a lot quieter
The car is booked in for its first MOT at the end of December, the broken wire will be looked at then - I’d love to report on my experience with the car since its Lohen attention but I’m not currently in the country and have been able to drive it ONCE since Damian returned the car home
Lohen are a very good and respected company, very nice people too.
I went there a few months ago for a stage 2 tune on my cooper s, 268hp/350nm torque on an r56 Cooper s! I was really happy and they did have a really good service.
This jcw clubman is a beast!
They have a nice setup there and seem really professional and even though they had a couple of issues resolved them. The shop was shut due to covid restrictions so would have liked a look around there but a nice comfortable seating area and a food can around the corner 😂🍔🍔

It is properly loud but adds something special although driving the down the town I felt a bit silly lol
Lohen are great, can vouch for them 👍
@@DoktrDub I heard a ton of good things about them. Wish they had a shop here in Canada. I have to do everything my self or get the MINI dealership to do it

It is like having a new car and such a better driving experience. What sort of power is your R53 making ?

I drove a JCW with a sports open gate exhaust through the town centre and popped it. You should have seen everyone duck as they thought someone was shooting 😂😂😂 Proper ASBO vehicle 🚗 Love & hate it at the same time 😂

I did not time it but it feels quicker and mid range is a lot quicker. The fact the torque curve is flatter makes all the difference and it just picks up with virtually no lag. Sorry about the seat belt but I’m impressed you have been watching other videos. when I get the next car will make sure it’s straight 😀

Was the pre Lohen map done by a “cheap” remapper?! The dyno print out really does show how smooth the power is delivered now.. bet the neighbours “love” sport mode!🤣👍🏻
It’s a friend of mines car so not sure of the original map cost but certainly not the same level as Lohen. They did explain some other companies will have that sharpe increase in torque just to hit the highest number possible but it does not really give the true nature of the car. hope showing the graphs was helpful along with my explanation
@@DamoDrives yes your explanation was spot on and in plain English! 👍🏻 to be honest, I’ve been guilty of always trying to shop around for the highest bhp figure and then not really looking at how the power is delivered... lesson learned! Will now has the perfect JCW 👍🏻
@@ObsLevelCrossings hi, it wasn’t ‘cheap’ cheap and had been created on a dyno (they said)... but it was generic and wasn’t made for my car explicitly as the guys at Lohen did.... in hindsight I’d now recommend to always get remaps done on a dyno
