Hey me too at 52 - changed my life. 2 shredded knees from revolutionary 'key-hole' surgeries back in the 1990's. those surgeons knew so little about the knee. even today some of them just stick in a knee replacement because therapy just doesn't pay and its too hard for many to do. its disgraceful. fortunately my surgeon had seen and tried knees over toes himself and he recommended it to me. game changed Im now running and skiing again.
Sounds fantastic. What issues did you hsve? Was it meniscus tear? I have done MRI with meniscus tear confirmed and I wonder if this would be worth trying for me.
@@olanilsson2559 Hi Ola - surgeons are better now - they repair meniscus rather than cut it off which is what happened to me over 4 surgeries. I had medial & lateral meniscus tears cut away on both knees over 8 years as a Marine Commando, regularly playing Rugby & Judo. Surgery solved it then, but meniscus has now worn away to very little on MRI and X-Ray with two torn. The resulting wear away is very common across all knee surgeries - osteoarthritis - caused by growth of little bastard osteophytes. Lock down + remote working accelerated my decline till I was getting severe random and persistent pain, swelling etc. I was resigned to knee replacements which although covered by my medical plan I did a lot of research (10,000 knee replacements were just recalled due to faulty parts...) and was eventually guided to this KOT plan. Any choice for surgery should be informed by your symptoms & try a few surgeons. My view was to try this first in the knowledge that if it didn't prevent the surgery it would ensure I got the most from the surgery, recovered faster and prevented further problems. Kneeovertoes Beginners Knee Workout for "Athletes" (highly trained person) Do Once a week for 12 weeks: - 00:42 Backward (walk) Sled Pulls: For 2 min, Ideal load for athletes = half boy-weight; - 1:18 Weighted Tibialis Raise: 1 set until failure (if you athlete the ideal load is 25% of body-weight) - 2:01 Poliquin Step-Up: 1 set until failure (body-weight) - 2:55 Elevated Split Squat: Until failure (body-weight) (3:31 important to flex until hamstring touch the calf, u can use ur hand as leverage) - 5:44 Sissy Squat: until failure (body-weight) - 8:22 (hands-Elevated) Nordics: 3 sets until failure or 5 reps (body-weight) - 10:10 Weighted Hip-Flexor Curls: 1 set until failure or 20 reps per leg
I think it’s a Poliquin step up because he’s using the slant board. Patrick step up is off a flat step which would bring the ankle into play. Poliquin removes the load on Achilles and soleus and just focuses on VMO and patella tendon.
Great video , followed along as he explained everything before bed and my knees feel great.2 x post acl surgeries 2016/2017 w/ 1-2 basketball 2-3 hour sessions per week
I would love to meet him, we have basically the same style of training clients, very animated, constantly moving demo-ing, cueing, and using touch as feedback for proper movement, rom, and muscle engagement. Constant repetition and explanation of what is happening in real time and why, quoting both studies and personal experience left and right. I know it’s not everyone’s style, and I’m biased since we are similar, but I think that’s a sign of a really good trainer.

Love this kind of surprises!! Love your work brother. Always try your stuff as my knees are weak. Been to physio’s but they don’t do crap. They say I have runners knee when I don’t even run. They say it’s patella tendinitis. Both of the bones of my knees stick out pretty far. So I just try your workouts. See if they help. It’s come better but still get knee pains from too much running. Or intense leg workouts.
Reverse Sled Pull Weighted Tibialis Raises Step Board Decline VMO Step Down ATG Split Squats *modified from bench, progression: X1 DB, progress to back rack, then progress to front racked position* Sissy Squats to foam bench *heels up* Modified Nordic Hamstring Curls DB Hip Flexor Raises
I usually just do some exercises as a warm up, walking backwards, or even any of those exercises are quick and easy. Plus he said you could do them once a week.

Hey @kneesovertoesguy. Thank you so much for sharing your information and helping people. The information you are sharing really is priceless. Ive had Micro Fracture surgery done on my right knee. @02:50, you mentioned that if the patella tendon gets overlooked then the cartridge gets worn. Any chance you could elaborate on that please?
VMO or teardrop muscle. Its the medial aspect (inside portion) of the quadriceps muscle group. Dorsiflexion (raising the toes) is a form of isometric training which places the tibialis anterior, the muscle of the shin, under constant tension.
question: are any of these important to hold isometrically? e.g, the patrick step...hold the bottom position for 30 seconds? maybe a heel elevated goblet squat in bottom position for 30 seconds? did the KOT guy explain the importance of isometrics in knee strength? (i'm curious if he did..my PT does...and wondering how much he emphasized it).
My question I've always wanted to ask the knees over toes Guy is that if you have had around 70%+ of the meniscus taken out of both knees is all this still possible when in the knee joint it is pretty much all bone against bone grinding?
Ben is so happy about sharing his knowledge. He's like a super smart puppy.

Ben changed my life. Lifting is everything to me and I was having right knee tendonitis for over a year with no change until I started ATG
This is by far one of the most interesting and instructional training videos. I always walk a certain portion of my daily backwards-healing and strengthening at multiple levels. I'm going to add these exercises in. Much Love-Thanks Guys!
Let's break it all down and build it back up from scratch. I'm loving this!
This is one of the most valuable videos on the lower workout, in existence!
Everything, nice and slow, safe and GREAT, GREAT VALUE! Practical value.
Yo, I feel you on the Nordics. I tried and with barely any mobility felt like my hammies were going to blow! I gotta ease into these
This is eye opening. Pure gold
Love this guy. The way he is is mad man.
But so knowledgeable. Amazing
Thank you so much for this information. As a lifelong athlete who is still playing competitive sports into his mid 30's I have suffered my fair share of knee injuries and dealt with what I thought was going to be life long knee pain and now I have some hope and a direction to go in to eliminate the pain.
Incredible knowledge and so enthusiastic to teach others! Just amazing.
Ben! I sincerely appreciate you! I've been itching for this type of content! You're truly amazing... bless your heart. you can feel the passion you have through your tone of voice and body language. I am definitely going to start this program
Thank you both and everyone who helped put this together.
Much appreciated and definitely something I was looking for.
Love getting to see new folks get to share their ways, att'a boy Mark for letting others shine as well. This content/ methods are something I've never come across, even with coaching flagged individuals in the military & civilians. Including my own service related injuries years after being medically retired.. This gives some hope for the future so that I can continue to train daily through the pain. Thanks again fellas. Salute
At age 44 , life long martial artist and athlete here , these days its all about healing and longevity for me. I look back at some of the reckless aggressive training sessions I had in my 20 's. Overtraining as an over confident youth. These days I love learning small tips and tricks for my solo homes gym workouts.
Mark needs to help Ben get on Rogan. Mark is the Rogan of lifting.
Rogan knows of KOTG we might see him in a few weeks/months
@@kingkatiin2658 hopefully
I found about Ben through Joe Rogan. He mentioned him and will get him on if he wants to.
He made ittt
would ya look at that
Does he have a channel? His work is amazing and I'm going to start using his techniques for my ruptured quad tendon rehab.
the kneesovertoesguy
Best freaking info on UA-cam I found today. This is life changing for anyone... especially for for squaters.....like myself.
Some of the best stuff I've seen and dried, believe me it makes a difference. Just have to be compliant and consistent
This series has been extremely helpful for me
Kneeovertoes Beginners Knee Workout for "Athletes" (highly trained person)
Do Once a week for 12 weeks:
- 00:42 Backward (walk) Sled Pulls: For 2 min, Ideal load for athletes = half boy-weight;
- 1:18 Weighted Tibialis Raise: 1 set until failure (if you athlete the ideal load is 25% of body-weight)
- 2:01 Poliquin Step-Up: 1 set until failure (body-weight)
- 2:55 Elevated Split Squat: Until failure (body-weight) (3:31 important to flex until hamstring touch the calf, u can use ur hand as leverage)
- 5:44 Sissy Squat: until failure (body-weight)
- 8:22 (hands-Elevated) Nordics: 3 sets until failure or 5 reps (body-weight)
- 10:10 Weighted Hip-Flexor Curls: 1 set until failure or 20 reps per leg
I think it’s a Poliquin step up because he’s using the slant board. Patrick step up is off a flat step which would bring the ankle into play. Poliquin removes the load on Achilles and soleus and just focuses on VMO and patella tendon.
@@MuhammadLaher thanks a lot for the explanation man. I have corrected my comment
Holy shit this guy is a genius.
I love these 11minutes of educational info.
Always good to watch you guys. You keep it real. Thanks for helping us Mark.
I'm 37 and was told by Dr. that my knees have arthritis and there's nothing he could do for me. Basically won't touch me till my mid 40s. Ben has giving me a plan of action 💯💯💯
Love this kind of surprises!! I've been calling this kind of exercises agressive phisiotherapy since I dig on it to fully recover personal setbacks and clients injurys that the REAL physios didn't or couldn't.
Shame to all the professionals out there in any field that don't have the passion and only think about money, instead of the joy of knowing how our reality works and solving problems.
Great stuff Ben....post knee "shit" has killed me over the last 5 years....now starting by walking backwards,....soon to pull/push sled...I'm very androgenic...so I expect results over time; 6 months/ 1 year/ 5 years...."mini-me".
As someone who dislocated my patella during basic training..this is all stuff I'm gonna do to help with my knee pain
Excellent information, wish you could do a video that would help knees and only using basic home equipment. I am doing what I can from your videos at home and I am finding amazing results. Thank you so much. 🙏🙌👍💕
It's definitely a different approach to strength training and rehabilitation. The power of utilising alternative movements to improve performance should not be underestimated.
The program is amazing.. obvious, you've to work a lot first, but then you got it.
Patrick's energy is contagious. I feel like I left a sales meeting.
Can we get a list of the exercises ? I want to figure out how to adapt these moves to a gym without the equipment in this video. Fantastic workout 👏🏼
Reverse Sled Pull
Weighted Tibialis Raises
Step Board Decline VMO Step Down
ATG Split Squats *modified from bench, progression: X1 DB, progress to back rack, then progress to front racked position*
Sissy Squats to foam bench *heels up*
Modified Nordic Hamstring Curls
DB Hip Flexor Raises
@@tarynsplaylist Ahhh thank you so much 💕
He runs through this so damn quick!!
My question is how do you work this stuff in to your workouts, or do we stop training our regular workouts and work solely on this for a while?
I usually just do some exercises as a warm up, walking backwards, or even any of those exercises are quick and easy. Plus he said you could do them once a week.
Interesting the innovative squat rack hold & release mechanism... flaps up and down right amount.
This guy is like a PT genius!
where can i buy the thing used at 1:30?
Love this content!
Ben is legit the man, game changing shit
Mark was smart to get him on his channel
Listening and watching this guy train his legs with his knees going out over the toes and realizing it's a good thing is kinda like realizing that saturated fat with a low carb to no carb diet is good for you. Everything's being blown up. Love it.
I am extremely grateful for your insightful information about your knees!
My God, Ben has so much energy.
I really like this concept I haven't seen it before and I will begin using it right away. However, watching this with my young son, it would be much better without the bad language and much more professional.
Peace be upon you. I have erosion of cartilage in the knees. I am 26 years old. I have a mother with both. Can I start exercises or a program that I can follow? Thank you
So glad i just found you , awesome stuff!!!!
What music is this in the first half?? Great stuff here thanks guys. Can't get enough
How are your knees now
my knees currently suck (bmx rider) I just did some of these exercises not only am I sweating ,my knees feel sooooo much better.
I have naturally very strong, resilient knees (one of my few blessings), and I still can’t stop watching these videos. Interesting stuff.
I am very happily using this info
What angle is the blocks under the feet? Been doing the backwards walking for 10 minutes or more a day and its helping. Thanks so much.
Uh I’m like holy crap…. Had one replacement need another but.. teaching this to my clients!!
Im not sure some one has been so easily accessible to learn with short easy video's
Thank you!! Got to know of you from Bob and Brad! Super!!
Like how hip flexors pull you into a squat, and lats are (should be) heavily used in benching
2:12 what type of tendor or muscle does this one helps? i found this one a bit hard pressure on my knee...
VMO or teardrop muscle. Its the medial aspect (inside portion) of the quadriceps muscle group. Dorsiflexion (raising the toes) is a form of isometric training which places the tibialis anterior, the muscle of the shin, under constant tension.
This guy is a legend
Thanks KoT guy.
My psoas is feeling great now
question: are any of these important to hold isometrically? e.g, the patrick step...hold the bottom position for 30 seconds? maybe a heel elevated goblet squat in bottom position for 30 seconds? did the KOT guy explain the importance of isometrics in knee strength? (i'm curious if he did..my PT does...and wondering how much he emphasized it).
My question I've always wanted to ask the knees over toes Guy is that if you have had around 70%+ of the meniscus taken out of both knees is all this still possible when in the knee joint it is pretty much all bone against bone grinding?
You just gotta progress a lil slower I guess...it'll still work but don't go overboard too fast
