Theodore Roosevelt National Park is located in North Dakota. The Park is broken down into a southern and northern unit. In this vlog, my daughter and I spent parts of three days exploring much of what is offered. We take you on two incredible hikes (Petrified Forest and Caprock-Coulee Trails), give an overview of our campsite. show wild horses and buffaloes and take you with us on two significantly western meals. It's a trek to get there, but definitely worth the visit!

I had the luxury of being an interpretive Ranger mere months after y'all visited the park. The history, geology, herbology, and the wildlife made 2017 a dream come true. Y'all encapsulated my 5 months of ranger work into one video. Good. I hope more people realize the amazing depths of THRO and it's wonders.
P.S. It's Colonel Roosevelt. He HATED being called "Teddy" as only his first wife ever called him that. And for some reason, "President Roosevelt" wasn't proper in the Colonel's mind.
Great video overall. THRO is a thoroughly misunderstood park, and deserve the two + days you gave it

I live by the north unit of the park. It is my favorite place on the planet. The horses are awesome but the north unit is wild and wonderful. If I could be buried there I would ;)
Neither my husband nor I grow up in ND but as a military family after retiring from Minot AFB(ND) we could not imagine living anywhere else.
We have lived all over the country and overseas and there is no place better than the northern unit of the park.

So cool. I did many of these trips with my kids years ago before the internet. Yellowstone, GTNP, RMNP, Glacier, Badland etc. I wish I could do it all over again. I can't look at my old photos because it makes me sad that time has passed so fast. I really enjoy your videos. It brings me back to those precious memories. Thank you for your beautiful family and the all the videos you make. I totally get why you take these trips. I really appreciate you. It is like I am back there again.

Just got back from our drive to Badlands, Wind Cave, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Devil's Tower, and TRNP. All were fantastic. Nobody was around even though Spring Break. Weather was chilly with some snow, but the wildlife was everywhere. Badlands was great in the winter, Wind Cave is fine all year. We were the only ones at Mt Rushmore, which was great. Devil's Tower was good. I would say that TRNP might be better in the summer where you can see the grasses and the flowers. Wildlife was great otherwise. Great to see wild horses. Thanks for your inspiration to see the country!

Theodore Roosevelt NP is a unique park and I'm glad I visited once. I stopped by on a RV trip from Ohio to Glacier NP where I took the northern route. I visited the south unit of TRNP for a day this past summer on a road trip and after seeing this, I wish I would've taken a day to explore the north unit. I ended up hiking 18 miles through the Petrified Forest Loop & several other trails. On the hike, I had to dodge a herd of bison while walking through a prairie dog town. Certainly a surreal experience, but an amazing day there nonetheless. I am so envious of your adventures, but I love following your travels! Keep up the great work!

So this is my state and we take our horses there at least once a year. I think it’s hilarious that you found sullys creek creepy because that’s where we stay as you can’t keep horses in the park and think the campground is nicer than the TRNP campground cuz showers there nice after a hot sweaty day with horse hair all over you. We took my nieces and nephew there last year and between the hiking, playing the river and riding horse we had a blast. I was super proud of my niece she did a 7 mile ride with her 4yo sister behind her and handled it like a boss. Wow that’s a lot. Sorry just found your channel and I’m loving it.

I am planning on doing this park next week(24-27). This is one I haven't been to. This will be #46 for me and #41 for my daughter. I have not been anywhere since Corona/March, so I hope this isn't a mistake as I am somewhat dreading flying this time and slightly fearful. I live in a tiny town in Oklahoma and we have had very little sickness in our county so far. I have reservations in Dickinson but might just end up doing backcountry camping. Hate to pack all of that up for airplane, but will decide next week when we are closer and I know for sure more about the weather the period. We will spend a full day in North and South each, and probably hike petrified forest area.(probably not the entire loop). I have watched your video several times.

Late July, early August is the best time. Sunflowers are mostly grown in North Dakota because the "sunflower Weevil" can not survive our cold winters. In June Sunflowers follow the Sun from East to West by moving their heads. Later on they all face East to catch the morning sun. Most are raised for their oil, but a different variety is raised for consumption.

Digging in my mind, but can't recall the name. It was really close to the park entrance. I want to say out and just to the right.

Love the shirts! I wonder if those bugs were "no see ums"? Google it. They bite. I have encountered them on Alabama beaches and also at campgrounds in Missouri.

Thank you! Checked on the bugs - don't think so, these guys were not biting and there wasn't much to their bodies. Have a great New Year!

Hey Adam, great accomplishment! As for the "big parks" I just hit my final park in the lower 48 last week (Isle Royale). Hope for Alaska next summer and Hawaii the year after. Doubtful I'll ever reach American Samoa. Take care and keep enjoying the Parks!
