    Hello Maria - I am writing from Yorkshire, England! I started learning to Tatt in September and like all your many subscribers have been so grateful to see your wonderful videos. You have such a lovely soothing voice and your instructions are so clear and easy to follow, It:s almost as good as having you sitting here in England beside me teaching me how to tatt. I have been busy making Christmas gifts for my family.... coasters/key rings /bracelets/ear rings and have put edging on some pillowcases. THERE IS JUST SO MUCH we can make - it's brilliant. There seem to be more patterns for shuttle tatting which looks a lot more complicated. So I am glad to find your needle tatting tutorials and look forward to lots more. Thank you so so much. Warmest good wishes. Mary

      Hi shifasgran
      I read your comment that there seems to be more shuttle tatting patterns than needle tatting. I am a shuttle tatter myself - still a beginner, but I believe the opposite to you. Here in Australia it seems most are needle tatters and I agree it can be very frustrating if you do one and not the other. However, you can watch a tutorial, even in Italian and write down all the information you need to produce a lovely piece of tatting, be it shuttle or needle tatting. Hope this helps. Good luck!

    I followed this n i loved it. i used four rings. my rings were smaller. Soooo. i decided to try again with a bigger needle and more stitches. well i didnt have enuf tail to complete so I created another design using this design and the one with double string. it came out very nice, and i even put a picot in the middle of my top ring to hook my earring hook on. Im proud of me! my first design..lol. keep them coming....

    Hello Maria
    Sometimes I watch tutorials in other languages, even though I don't understand, but try to write down all the instructions. However, for example, when I follow a person doing the tutorial she states 3ds, 1 picot, 4ds, etc., but when I count the stitches it's 3ds, 1 picot, 3ds! Do you count one picot as 2ds? Hope you follow what I'm trying to say it just seems a bit confusing. Look forward to your your comments.

    • @MariaPapia
      @MariaPapia  6 років тому

      Some people count the picot as 1ds but the picot is just the decorating little loop not the ds. Does that make sense?

    • @wendyjones3219
      @wendyjones3219 6 років тому +1

      Thank you for your reply Maria. I understand that the picot is just for decoration, but does it not also count as a stitch?

    • @MariaPapia
      @MariaPapia  6 років тому

      You count the ds that you make after the loop of the picot as one ds.
