I think ground-pounding in general has a corrupting influence on GS; every time he gets into an A-10 or a Spectre he starts ticking off boxes on the Geneva Checklists!
Yeah, GS likes to play with his food on these ground pounder missions. Lol give him a Herky Gunship & his Inner Sociopath makes an appearance 😱👁️👀👁️🤣🤣🤟💥😂😆
Look up gun cam footage from Apaches. There's one where it ambushes a bunch of T-ban fighters with a Hellfire and proceeds to wipe the mountainside with 30mm before circling back to finish off survivors. One of the survivors from the ambush was finished off with a direct hit from a 30mm round.
I remember loving the AC130 in Call of Duty. They would only let you play with it for a short period but I could have played it as a seperate game entirely. Very satisfying.
Funny. Just about three hours ago I was watching a "real" AC-130 video and thought to myself, "I wonder if Growling Sidewinder ever did an AC-130 video?" Refreshed my page, and there you were! But a 105 to just take out a sapper? A Hellfire for four dudes under a tree? Be careful with our tax money, Dude! Also, pay attention to the warning notes in the lower right quadrant. It was screaming at you that the minigun was overheated. Also, yeah. A Cobra's minigun, while "only" 7.62mm, strafing a football field, will put a round in every square foot. When I was in Vietnam, we used to set up lawn chairs and watch 5 Cobras work the VC on a hilltop about five miles away at night. Each Cobra was stacked at a different altitude, so if the enemy tried to duck the stream of bullets behind a rock, one of the other ships would start firing from a different direction. Oops. The tracers, every fifth round, would come so fast it appeared to be an unbroken red stream. We called it "pissin' on the enemy".
During war games in the Corps, I saw the AC130 demonstrated at night. Terrifying. Nothing it sees is allowed to live. Thinking about how they had to verify our friendly Marines location left a strange feeling in us. Annihilation was a trigger finger away. Glad those beasts are on our side.
If you're pinned down and you hear an A-10 above you, you go "Hell yeah! Here comes the ass whooping!" If you're pinned down and you hear an AC-130 above you, you go "Oh... rest in pieces, I guess..."
11:28 that's actually not inaccurate for infantry to survive what is more or less a direct hit with a Hellfire, I've read from Apache pilots that the Hellfire really is primarily an anti-tank missile and the missile body isn't designed to produce a lot of fragmentation, apparently the guaranteed infantry kill radius was pitifully small so it was very much for point-targets only.
@@GrowlingSidewinder don't worry, the weapon designers figured that out and fixed it. Of the 20+ hellfire variants there's several that include various kinds of HE/Frag warhead, and also at least two thermobaric versions
I watched F-16s mock dogfight above my family’s house. I once stared at the AC-130s slowly fly over my house. Traumatized my family’s horses. Even my sister, who is unimpressed by any aircraft was staring in awe and those massive bird. I with I could see them again but I probably won’t happen any time soon
Way back in the day I was camping north of a bombing range in Florida when A-6’s? Flew over super low. I didn’t known the range even existed at that point and was afraid we were about to go full Red Dawn.
I live under the flight path of the air national guard fighter wing, we get 2-4 F-15EXs flying over every few days throughout much of the year. They hit the afterburners when they climb away, around 1,000 or so AGL. Its awesome
Watching this i can't help but think of that joke from Shane Gillis, "just some pilot with night vison just mows down 40 people, pilot gets on just go CLEAR" 😂😂😂
When they marked that car, I was like "Yup, I have seen enough footage and movies to smell that IED through the screen". And yes GS, it is 15 Dollars American
I think you mean psychological, lol. Although there are definitely some physiological effects when you direct-impact an enemy with a 105mm shell. 🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀
I think there was a black mirror episode about a game that people play and it is actually a live feed to robot soldiers and these gamers actually fight in a war. This has a very similar feel to it
Just this morning, a CC-130H buzzed my house at about 500ft. I thought, "No way would could they have been as low as I think." Checked FlightRadar24 and they sure were. Almost as fun as when the Chinooks buzzed my canoe.
Bro I had a 2-ship of Chinooks fly over my house one day earlier this year at like noon. It was awesome getting to see them relatively up close (low altitude). Coolest thing that's ever happened to me/around me in my neighborhood, lol. I'm in the US, though, not Canada.
Watched a real video of one during Nam targeting a truck convoy on a mountainous road. The truck drivers were handcuffed to the steering wheel to prevent bailouts. Saw some just drive off cliffs to avoid fire. Great plane even if it shakes and rattles when rolling lol
I hope we get this in DCS. Even with the lacking ground stuff, i would still love it. Maybe an older version like the spectre or the spooky that dont have super advanced, super classified sensors.
The Specter is great. I have a book I got the Air Force Museum in Dayton OH about Vietnam era gunships starting with AC-47 Spooky aka Puff the Magic Dragon, the early Specters and the AC-119 Shadows. There some experiments with OV-10 Broncos and other light airplanes. It amazing how much firepower you put aloft.
I live in Dayton. The old school Air Force Museum had a cool display of a Spooky circling the target in VN. It was just a model of the Spooky on a rod that was attached to a motor. 😂. But I loved that display.

More AC-130 Please! That was sick. I would love to see a single 20min mission supporting. This bird is death from above.
Could you please do A-4 Skyhawk vs everything?
GS in a Raptor: I am the most disrespectful display of playing with my food

Overkill is underrated.
And underkill is overrated.
No such thing as overkill, only fire and reload.
There's no kill like overkill..
10:00 Dead checking with an AC130 is psycho.

That was only 2007 lol
I've loved it since playing Janes USNF 97, look that up and you'll not feel old lol.

11:51 - GS having so much fun he's abusing his equipment:

The Physiocological methods here are crazy
Psychological? Physiological?
I think you mean psychological, lol. Although there are definitely some physiological effects when you direct-impact an enemy with a 105mm shell. 🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀
One of my favorite aircraft. My dad was a C-130 technician so I was already partial to them. I have a 105mm shell at my house. They're enormous.
To borrow a line from Apache gunners (I think), "You can run, but you'll just die tired."

Reminds me of the Ace Combat mission in the C130, used to love that mission!
It's crazy how versatile that plane is. You seemingly can do almost anything with it.
The scariest thing about an AC-130 is that you never see or hear it before it unleashes hell!
Oh my.
Reminds me of the late 1960s muscle car engine guideline. Some is good. More is better. _Too_ _much_ is barely enough.
