I saw the A-10 here in Jodhpur, India when USAF came here for a military exercise with the Indian Air Force in September 2024. Really cool planes! These were the first USAF planes i had ever seen!
The gun with wings or flying tank. The A-10 really does soak up that damage. The ultimate revenge seeking plane. 2 Frogfoots, 2 AAA toyotas, a whole armored convoy, and a couple of bmps, all with a bit of repairable damage. The Warthog lives on
I remember seeing the A-10 Warthogs flying over my house as a kid they used to be stationed at Fort Custer at the Battle Creek Kalamazoo International Airport / National Guard base❤ they used to fly directly over my house on approach to land
I was in the Civil Air Patrol squadron stationed there. Got to meet the base commander and stuff. Loved those hogs. The Air Zoo has the blown up nacelle from the one that took an RPG to the engine.
DCS should add the realistic A10 'mark 1 eyeball upgrade' view where it shows your pilot fumble around trying to pick-up binoculars flying around the cockpit and shakily try to look through them.
I was a air force transiate alert technician,,you learned to listen for the type of jets coming in. ,,loved the A-10 and harriers,,pilots were very jack
Yes, I always tell that to myself when I think about my attempts to land a Huey. I mean, I survived everytime, heli just not as much, might have some scratches on the painting 🙃
I love that with the recent DCS update, armament goes flying off when the aircraft is hit. The aircraft must be getting so scared it poops its load. Yet again, another fantastic video.
Did you know that the A-10 technically can’t use the triple launcher AGM-65s next to the TGP because the rocket blast from the closest missile will damage it? Perhaps you could do a video with a single, heavier, penetrator Maverick (like the G or L variants) on that pylon rather that the triple launcher for the Ds?
This is not true. It's not supposed to use them, but they do in some cases. Same way you're not supposed to override the G limiter in an f18 but you could if you wanted to.
15:58 - The Toyota Hilux! For when you have to fight the Yankee Invaders at eleven o'clock and pick up bricks from builder's supply at noon! But you know who WON'T turn a used truck into a technical..?
The variety in this mission bring sme back to playing A-10 Cuba on my family's old PC. Electronics failure due to ground AA was common, as were Su-25 dogfights!
This was a great video, loved doing CAS while having friendly air and enemy air all at the same time, would be really fun to see a situation like this in a hornet, going from A2G to A2A on the flick of a switch
It would be nice, although probably impractical for DCS, to do an A-10 2-ship scenario. Rarely, almost totally unlikely for solo attack birds to be tasked without a wingman.
Many years ago in Northern Michigan at a friends cabin an A-10 flew so low over the woods we could see the pilot, and moments later we heard the sounds of muffled explosions.... they were doing live bomb drops at Camp Grayling..
I think it was honours even; 2 frogfoots for a hornet and a damaged warthog. Maybe the KA-50 tilting it slightly to the good guys. If there was a MBT along with the AFV's and Technicals, then it was a costly win.
For sidewinders (A-A Mode): coolie hat up-short (SOI HUD) + TMS up-short = Search & Lock-On Mode. Once locked, you don’t even have to be nose-on to fire.
Have you ever had a mission where you didn't have to explain something to the crew chief? The only one I remember where you weren't all shot up, you had to explain to the chief and the tax payer why you used a JDAM to pickle a tactical outhouse

Have fun fixing it !
Oh I dunno, based on past experiences there's probably an 89% chance the crew chief was expecting a huge repair bill once GS returned anyway 🤣
13:50 GS was about to demonstrate the stealth of the A10; "the second type of stealth where you leave no witnesses"
Arguably the better "Stealth" 😭

"nobody will notice, if there´s nobody left to notice"
i agree that this is the superior form of stealth

Hey, Aaron, good to know. I am making models of the A10 and the positioning of the ordnance is more or less optional. Thanks, bud.
When I was play DCS A-10 my normal load out was 10% over weight. I had AGM-65x6 Aim-9 x4 GBU-12x6 and CBU-105 x2
