From what i have seen from A LOT of reviewers the chain will fade a bit after 2-3 weeks (but it will make it look even more real) in other words… The super Bright yellow you get at the beginning (from being NEW) will fade into a more natural gold look. Then it will stay that color for over a year. Recommendation is to NOT clean them with any gold cleaning materials. Since you have another metal underneath the gold it will react to it and fade.

A little tip to separate thinly gold plated items from thicker plated sterling silver chains is placing them in a box for a couple weeks. Pretty reliable tests without waiting months.
In the past manufacturer’s hallmarked items H.G.E., which stood for Heavy Gold Electroplated. This is also regulated.
*So if suppliers and sellers don’t at least hallmark the jewelry, just always assume it’s a thinly plated gold layer! If they call it vermeil, the minimum thickness must be 2.5 microns, if it isn’t then they are not following FTC guidelines!

Thanks for watching. I quit buying gold-plated jewelry cause it's just not worth it, and I wanted people to know that every gold-plated item I bought from jaxxon, the gold-plating deteriorated within a few months
@TheUniverse420 Vermeil is better than gold plated, so it should last quite a while. I just haven't had any luck with gold-plating when it comes to Jaxxon products, so I quit buying from them
I'm considering getting one of these chains. Sounds like the silver, maybe the better way to go.

Mine was vary cheesy but it faded in a good way over time
I was just talkin about this and your video popped up in my feed. U da man. They claim to be three times bonded but they don't use the word vermeil in their advertising which was a red flag for me. Almost seems like a way for them to get out of any accountability for not being 2.5 microns thick if that's the case. Also I've seen a lot of videos of them fading pretty bad I can only imagine if you wore it everyday. But I don't agree with you they have decent prices they basically charging triple the price for their chains. Almost the price of hollow. Supposedly they offer a free replacement chain but even then you're still paying double. I mean for example HB has a few five times electroplated options for third of the price. I think these guys are just great at marketing and most people buying from them and not doing any deep research. I had one guy tell me he believed that Jackson is the only one plating on Silver I kid you not. Lol

No problem! If you are going to get a gold-plated silver chain I would go with gusvilla or just save your money and get a solid gold one
I've had my 7 mm jaxxon gold on silver for a year and 4 months and it still gets compliments. Only take it off to polish it with a rag once every 2 months or so...
I wish mine lasted that long. You must take great care of it. Had I not of purchased solid gold chains, I probably wouldn't have noticed as much that the color changed cause the solid gold ones still look the same as the day I bought them

@kasheem1747 Jaxxons Solid Gold chains are overpriced. A 20in 7mm cuban is $5880 on jaxxons website where the same chain is $4060 on Jacoje's website and they weigh about the same. Jacoje is also way better than jaxxon in my opinion
I have 4 and not until I bought the 5th did I realize it was faded! About 8 months they will fade - Anyone saying otherwise didn’t do a before or after. Buy a new one and place it next to a 7-8 month chain - it will be faded

If it’s a reddish tint coming through, that’s not silver that’s copper. I’ve never seen a gold Verme chain ever do that.

That's an Ice link chain on the far left, and everyone thinks that's a franco chain, but it's actually a wheat chain. I've reviewed four Ice Links on my Channel, 2 rose gold ones, a yellow gold one, and a two-tone yellow & white gold one, which is the one in this video. @Sean Kiesling It does feel lighter but it's not hollow. It weighs over 25 grams for a 20 inch chain which isnt too light. I have a Franco too and Francos are just heavy a$$ links
What’s crazy to me is as the plating is wearing off it’s turning red which means underneath is prob jewelers brass which that means they are lying to customers. They claim it’s stainless. If it was stainless it would turn silver not red.

Gold filled, Gold-plated, and gold bonded all are a waist of money, they will eventually fade. The best is gold Vermeil but even that will most likely eventually fade so best to get solid Gold or silver

Most people whose chains fade after a short amount of time do dumb shyt like swim in the ocean with it or play basketball in it. Keep it away from the elements and it'll last longer. None of my Jaxxon chains look like this. Put Windex in your soapy water to make it shine.
Never wore it in the ocean or shower, I just learned that Gold-plated pieces are gonna fade so I pretty much just buy solid gold or silver now
@@balltmax you're doing something wrong for it to fade like that. If you did nothing then I would've tried to exchange it.. It's not plated. It's silver filled gold dipped. There's a UA-cam video of a guy with an element gun that confirms this.
Title says “Gold bonded” yet you say “Gold plated”. Which is it? Those aren’t the same thing
It's Gold Bonded, I'm so used to saying Plated that I forgot to say Bonded. Both are essentially the same, meaning it's covering silver but by a different method
Easy fix, don’t buy gold plated chains.

I have solid 14k gold chains but some people can't afford to spend over a thousand dollars for a chain. So they want to get the best quality.

I have 6 chains from jaxxon with zero problems at all.. but ppl talk shit because they act like a 150$ chain won't have problems lol they definitely can but if you take care of them they look great and last . Right now I have a 10mm silver chain on and a 3mm gold chain on ... My 10mm gold chain I had on for 9 months and zero problems. Just wanted to switch it up .
Jaxxon chains are trash. I bought the 5mm Cuban link and in about 3 months it started fading.
All four things that I bought from then faded in about the same time, it was such a waste of money

I've had mine on for 9 months and still looks great .. I know how to clean my chains and to give them a polish .. you good sir are just a clown.
Do you think that thing gonna last? It's not! It's a $200 Gold-bonded chain, with the thinnest layer of plating. And call me a clown again and watch what happens
@@balltmax I've seen better reviews which test everything including scratching all the way through.. and It probably won't last 20 years but so far so good for the price .. I have solid gold chains that I wear on occasion and that's what these budget chains are for .. plus I mostly wear silver and after 2 years my silver chain still looks fantastic.. I polish it every 3 months.
@Willis-de5hx I did multiple tests on this chain in other videos, scratching, heat, and strength. This video is a product update video and this was my experience. Had I not had solid gold Chains and seen that they don't change overtime, I probably wouldn't of been so hard on these ones but I've had an even worse experience with Jaxxons Bracelets, those only lasted like a month cause I wore them almost every day
