Watch the whole interview. Cudi tells him multiple times he had to go but he kept sticking around for another question. Not to mention Nardwuar was bringing up sensitive topics about relatives who had passed away.
I understand people are people but nardwuar puts about as much effort into his interviews as people put into their songs. He brings gifts, does research, and always seems to have an upbeat attitude. People still find ways to complain though or flat out disrespect the man. Seeing artist I enjoyed in this video acting like assholes to a man who in his own right is an artist is just flat out fucked.
I love nardwuars interviews because it shows celebrities from a different view. Often he puts a bit of preassure through randomness on them which leads to great reactions. Its easier to paint a picture about these people through nardwuar.
Well... your fault for thinking Henry Rollins is a nobody. Rock would not be what it is without him. I'll at least say that Henry Rollins in the same interview gives Nardwuar his credit for his eccentric personality and takes a liking to him. He also did another interview with him recently, which is honestly a great piece of comedy. I'll say more. Henry Rollins was in the punk scene for a long time, and a lot of that community fostered an environment where he had to fight and appear as this sadistic macho male. This was his stage persona in a way, as fans used to punch, scratch, kick, and stab him. It was a way of fighting back. I think this kind of festered into his personality in a genujnely harmful way, and it pushed others around him. But I think Henry Rollins has become a better man. I don't know if you'll ever read this but I'll put this out there for anyone who cares to read.
@@LordFerbombi Sonic Youth, Busta Rhymes, Nas, Pusha T and Kid Cudi are all incredibly popular in music discussions and in general seeing that they all pull over a million listeners from Spotify and whatnot. If you were to go up to people on the street and ask them if they know about Sonic Youth and compare it to people who people who know about narduwar, I bet you'd get a pretty even spilt, so I don't think he's diffinitevely more relevant than these artists.
So many stereotypes come from how terrible of a person Lydia Lunch is. She is that girl in high school that got way too into spoken word and thought she was way smarter than she actually is
The thing to remember here is that Nardwuar for a long time had a very punk attitude, and what seems like earnesty actually has subtext. Most of these examples he is actually digging at them a bit for one reason or another. These days he truly is nice, but when a guest doesn’t like him or is fake to him he lets the audience know.
Yes. You are right on with this. Also, his punky, funky, kook persona is designed to allow the interviewee to let their guard down but self-aggrandizing has beens (the early punks were more untalented social activists than musicians, after all) like Lydia Lunch are so insecure and deadened that no matter what their guard is up. @@lieutenant7884 Oh shit that's Pusha T?? Damn, dick move.
Curren$y loves Nard, he just tapped his mic with the album as a joke. He’s done multiple interviews with him and they vibe really well together
This man is talking about putting screws in someone's skull and Nardwaur over here wanting him to say "doo doo" 😂
Some people say nardwuar is still begging busta for a doo doo til today...
cool how 99% of the artists who were rude to him, no one knows them
1:03 "So I need to know, are these all mine to leave with?"
"Uhh, Not quite"
"Now your becoming uncool now"
LMAO
Nas being Nas
in a world filled with Lydia Lunch, be a Tyler The Creator. 🥰
Lydia who?
@@unamor idk either, had to Google that shit up. 😂
@@lattaem 💀
Thanks. I was trying to figure out who the hell she was. Never heard of seen her before
so irrelevant idek who she is lmao
These dudes don't understand that it's way easier to just say "do do". Trying to convey the tough guy bullshit to much. Also the Henry Rollins interview ended up pretty good toward after he said that.
not everyone gets it immediately lol, like put urself in their shoes imagine being in a nardwuar interview having never heard of him prior
@@zackmcfellers7103 Yeah but still. Some people need to drop the ego sometimes and just play along for a second.
@@michaelgraham9774 just cause some people reject him doesn't mean anything about their ego. Like you MUST like his childish attitude.
@@michaelgraham9774 im not even saying theyre rejecting anything, im more saying they seem to have no idea whats going on lol
@@zackmcfellers7103 Even so they could've saved themselves some trouble with a simple "doo doo".
That Henry Rollins one was great. Nardwuar really won him over after that jab of 'you only got 2 more questions'.
who this?
Legend says if an artist leaves without giving Nardwuar a “doo doo”, the artist and their entire family tree is cursed for 7 generations to come.
Everyone is entitled to have a bad day here and there but some of these “celebrities” take themselves too seriously and need to lighten up.
It’s his job to be like that and people are so disrespectful, like maybe it’s kinda annoying but they should know what they’re in for 😂🤦♂️
1:06 given the fact Nard tends to give AWESOME gifts for people he interviews I understand the guy being sad
3:02 was actually awesome hahah Busta meant well. "Busta please???!!"
Yeah he was just stoned asf and saying dumb shit 😂
Back in the 90s people took that personal interview as disrespectful today it's like wow good thorough fact-checking interview. Thank you nardwuar word and never stop interviewing never stop being a good person ever stop giving gifts and punk rock Never Dies. It just changes the black T-shirt once in awhile.
Curren$y tapping the mic with the vinyl Nard gave him was hilarious.
Lol busta rhymes wasn’t being mean he just didn’t know what narduar wanted from him and was trying to not be akward
3:14 IM CRYYING WHY IS THIS SO FUNNY
this is what nardwuar's shtick used to be. he's punk AF
Some of these make me sad. Like him just being ignored and turned down
“Im actually hungry for an intelligent conversation in which i’ve yet to find” bruh its nardwuar
The Henry Rollins interview was a great turn around
0:50 was anyone else annoyed at that lady blinking at every word that came out of her mouth.
Yes
Who is she??
It kinda sucks to see kid cudi disrespect him like that. I thought at least he'd be better.
Watch the whole interview. Cudi tells him multiple times he had to go but he kept sticking around for another question. Not to mention Nardwuar was bringing up sensitive topics about relatives who had passed away.
freepotatoez yeah nardwaur is great a lot of the time but he can be a little insensitive at times I don’t think he’s great at picking up social cues
kid cudi is always an asshole why would he be different then
@@nateygoat the other replies to this comment was people explaining why cudi did that, and you decide to come up with that statement.
kid cudi music is garbage anyways
In the case of Jello Biafra, they've known each other a long time and were clearly having fun. You can even see Nard cracking up.
2:52 "Nas so insecure about his manliness lool"
Man and I like them both A lot
I understand people are people but nardwuar puts about as much effort into his interviews as people put into their songs. He brings gifts, does research, and always seems to have an upbeat attitude. People still find ways to complain though or flat out disrespect the man. Seeing artist I enjoyed in this video acting like assholes to a man who in his own right is an artist is just flat out fucked.
I think the Henry Rollins interview actually went well, he gained Henry's respect immediately after that clip
2nd guy is the last kind of person you want at a party 😂
Nice that he surpassed all of them in relevance
I love nardwuars interviews because it shows celebrities from a different view.
Often he puts a bit of preassure through randomness on them which leads to great reactions.
Its easier to paint a picture about these people through nardwuar.
0:08 Hell of an ego for a celebrity no one knows
^^^^^
Well... your fault for thinking Henry Rollins is a nobody.
When that dude whacks the record against the mic was funny af
1:02 sounds like Nardwuar was finna say u a bitchh 😂😂😭
i love how i have no idea who most of these people are/theyve faded into obscurity but nardwuar is still here
The way busta rhymes was actually being funny and charismatic at the end of the video was strangely heartwarming
Ironically, Nardwuar is now more famous than almost all of these people.
No its not
@@sehhmie5483 Yes he is, L
He's really not. Cool guy and all, but most of these artists are equally as popular as him.
@@theexclusivefool5121 Eh actually look up most of the artists where they are now. They’re really not
@@LordFerbombi Sonic Youth, Busta Rhymes, Nas, Pusha T and Kid Cudi are all incredibly popular in music discussions and in general seeing that they all pull over a million listeners from Spotify and whatnot. Narduwars popularity is more difficult to determine, but the fact that he pulls around atleast 100k views on any given musician certainly means he's relevant in a capacity.
If you were to go up to people on the street and ask them if they know about Sonic Youth and compare it to people who people who know about narduwar, I bet you'd get a pretty even spilt, so I don't think he's diffinitevely more relevant than these artists.
The way you react to a nardwuar interview is a true test of the human spirit.
It's all a character test my friends
So many stereotypes come from how terrible of a person Lydia Lunch is. She is that girl in high school that got way too into spoken word and thought she was way smarter than she actually is
She's like that in real life, and also literally nuts
He had it coming from Beck. Nardwuar called him at 3AM and talked nonsense, like how his manager has a 1-800 number 😂
They forgot the one with blur. That whole interview was disrespectful
Nardwuar is literally the last person id want to piss off.
Nas saying "Peace" gets me everytime haha 😂
Rappers are similar: it's the insecurity in bolstering an untenable hypermasculity, due to "daddy issues" or the like. He's highly original and a wonder.
Busta was Busta funny af
Nardwaur is the kinda guy that killed bullies with kindness and never gave them the type of reaction they were after so they moved on to easier victims.
People took Nardwaur for granted before. Let's all respect those that do appreciate him today 🙏🏻
Dude Busta Rhymes was about ready to beat his ass, I could tell. 😂 I used to be annoyed of Narduar but since noticing the research and dedication he has for the artists is really impressive
We'll never forget about Kid Cudi's interview.
nardwuar gave cudi a panic attack, he wouldn’t stop talking about his uncle who recently passed
I like how Busta Rhymes was annoyed with Nardwuar but in a wholesome way
He would play such a good Joker 🃏
Imagine sitting there with a hand full of gifts this dude just gave you, and then be rude to him.
When you interview this much, you get some thick fucking skin.
