This is amazing. Thank you. I am considering this for one of my design and technologies classes at my school as we have a market day this year. They would sell really well!
Really helpful. I teach wet felting and have tried using a variety of balls to mixed success, your info made me see why sometimes investing in better quality works. :-)
Thank you for your lovely comments, I’m so pleased to hear you enjoyed my book (and that it was recommended to you too)! You might like to know that my new book is about to be published in the UK any day now, so I hope you’ll enjoy that one too!🤞
You are an excellent teacher and presenter. I just found you via a random 'suggested for you' on UA-cam. Subscribing, and will be looking here in US to purchase your book locally. Not a fan of Amazon.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, I’m so pleased you enjoyed the video (and I have a few tutorial videos here on UA-cam that you might like too!). I have 2 wet felting books out now, you’ll find them in my Folksy shop (or on Amazon if you want to see more about what’s inside them), the links to everything are below the video. Thanks again and Happy Felting!😁
I like that you have books and on line courses. I was wondering if you can use coarse fibers from sheep that have been raised for food. We don't have many mills in Quebec, Canada and farmers often throw away the woollen fleece, because there is no value for them in trying to use the fleece which is not very soft.
Hi, thanks for watching! I think the honest answer is that you would need to try out the sheep’s wool and see how it felts. Fibres from different sheep breeds are all different, so it’s only by doing a test that you’d know. So you could try felting a small flat piece of felt with the fibre and see what happens! Good luck!
Check for spinning/weaving guilds in your area. They will know where to source felting supplies, including sheeps wool. I am in Ontario, and I am finding supplies much more abundant than when I started 25 years ago.
I’ve got your first book and the Big Bertha ball. The ball is pumped up to a circumference of 32 inches at the moment, can I really get it to 37 inches? And will that be big enough for a cat cave? Now I can see I need to get your new book after easter 🐰
Hi, thanks for watching and buying my book! Yes you should be able to get the Big Bertha ball up to 37”. I’m not sure that size will make a great cat cave though, it will probably still be a bit small (remember your shrinkage is going to be around 25%). I’ve got a cat cave design coming in my new book and for that I used a much larger exercise ball (the yellow one in this video). So yes you might want to wait until book 2! And in the meantime maybe try out your Big Bertha on a large bag, bowl or basket?
Hi, you can make your bag any size you want! 55cm in circumference around the ball would make a very small bag, 55cm is smaller than the green ball in the video which is firm enough to use at around 65cm. So the smallest bag I would make would use the green ball at 65cm in circumference. So you might want to get a bigger ball? Also if you want more guidance on sizes and amounts of wool fibre etc and to understand how the felting on a ball process works, I have full instructions in my books Wet Felting and Three-dimensional Wet Felting, which you can find in my online shop or on Amazon. I also have an in-depth online bag course. Later this year I will also have another online bag course which will be available in several other languages, I’ll share details when the course launches! Thank you for watching!
I am trying to find out what kind of felt do I buy for a purse. I am buying your book but since it doesn’t come out till December I need my supplies before because for Christmas my granddaughters and I are going to make a wet felting purse.
Hi, I’m assuming you’re in the US. My first book ‘Wet Felting’ is available now on Amazon, my new book ‘3D Wet Felting’ is available from my UK shop now (the link is in the description below the video). I also have 4 online classes where you can learn wet felting on a ball, again the links are below the description. Hope that helps, thanks for your interest!

Hi, you don’t need to buy anything expensive, just look for cheap washing-up bowls, plastic tubs, gardening or storage bowls/tubs, things like that. From a cheap homewares store like Walmart or Target. But if you can repurpose kitchen or household bowls you already have, even better! (You’ll just need a bowl smaller than the ball to prop up the ball while you work on it and one bigger than the ball that the ball can sit in for other stages of the process - do have a look at either of my books for more guidance). Hope that helps!
Hello Natasha, I want to do your hat and cowl class, but the link above is taking me to 'Living Felt' tutorials, and the pricing is in USD. Is this correct? And just to clarify, once I join, and pay for the class, there is no time limit on it? Thank you.
Hi Marie, I’m glad you managed to sort it out! Yes it’s all in dollars but it will convert to pounds, and the course gives you forever access in your own account area so you can watch and rewatch the videos as much as you like! You might also like to know that I’m working on some kits to go with the course, so do watch my social media or sign up to my newsletter for that. Thanks so much for joining the course, I hope you enjoy it and look forward to seeing you in the class chat!
Very interesting! Well done on your fresh new upload!! Anja x

Thank you! It is simple really once you get going so I hope you’re inspired to have a go at felting on a ball!

Yes, it’s a simple bag without a flap. You should be able to see a preview on Amazon!
