Governments have massive incentives to keep people poor and dependent on them so they can promise changes every election for votes. They have the incentive to make the public feel that the problems are impossible to solve without government. So when Mr.Beast comes along and easily fixes all these problems, then suddenly the government's monopoly of control over helpless people shatters. Once people realize that the government is nothing more than a massive scam, the government is done for. That's why they're mad and doing everything they can to tarnish Mr.Beast.

The US government for example is the center of media attention, so a lot of what it plans to do will be blasted into the news 24x7. Also americans tend to be more independent and less dependent on the government, plus have the right to free speech which allows them to openly criticize their government. In that sense, I believe that the African government can get away with stuff because - People are too dependent on their government with the belief that problems aren't solvable without government solutions. There's a lack of free speech, which could lead to censorship, especially of anyone criticizing government policies which combined with their dependence on government can lead to their belief that whatever the government does is in their best interest. Its a vicious cycle of keeping people eternally dependent on their government which only breeds more dependence as the government takes away people's ability to be independent. Its not just Africa either, several asian countries like India have fallen in that trap as well, where the government can even get away with atrocities just because they know that people will beg for more government to solve problems created by the government.

That's actually where my head's at too. I think Kenyans are embarrassed because, bc Kenya is one of the wealthiest African nations and if you go to Nairobi, it’s very westernised, there are skyscrapers, theres infrastructure, there a high quality of life, so you’re living in a bubble. That bubble bursts when Mr Beast comes to your country, skips Nairobi and showcases the most impoverished parts to the world. If you’re a comfortably middle class Kenyan sitting on your couch in Nairobi, with your WiFi, running water, electricity, nice furniture and designer clothes, are watching me beast portray your country to the entire world like it’s a backward slum without running water. It’s a reminder that the poor and middle class in Africa live in completely different worlds.

Good on Mr. Beast for helping people, although I can also understand the argument that eventually the wells will break down and will need maintenance. Hopefully he will stay on top of it or others will hop in and do so. I've heard about problems in more rural areas as well where thugs or government authorities will step in and block access to those wells in order to charge exorbitant prices for clean water, hopefully that doesn't happen. I'm all for helping others when you can, but it is also true that one must consider future ramifications of their actions as well when doing so. Good intentions can often lead to disastrous results. I’ve known people from ministry who have travelled all their lives to Africa to preach and do philanthropy work alongside the evangelizing aspect of Christianity (from southern baptists to Hispanic Pentecostals doing mission trips etc). I’m going to use Kenya as one of the examples but in every single visit or mission they’ve done, all the ministry leaders say the same thing. The Kenyan government is absolutely useless. The corruption and lack of presence they have in impoverished villages is non existent and for many of them they rely on yearly trips from evangelists to get at least a fraction of supplies to their villages whether they be food or medication etc. and there’s only so many churches with their resources that are able to help even a quarter of a year. This is the case with many countries in Africa. It’s absolutely ridiculous how insulting and useless/corrupt many of these nations governments are. I can only name a handful of them in Africa that genuinely work with philanthropist organizations and organized religions (mostly Christianity) plus the nation’s resources to make an attempt to help their populace.

My thoughts on this is that people are mad at him because faux charities bank off of donations sent to these villages,along with certain groups who want to use their suffering for propaganda. That's just my take.
That's actually where my head's at too. The politicians are probably allied with them and are complaining on their behalf because the actual "charities" in charge of it can't complain directly, lest they be outed. That and the organizations that are truly helping but are only doing minimal change for reasons that may even be good reasons in rare cases, are being undermined in the public consciousness by comparison.

Im not sure what Africa's politics are, but to me it looks as if they're mad at Mr Beast because he's bringing attention to an issue, one that they dont necessarily want prying eyes on. Good on Mr. Beast for helping people, although I can also understand the argument that eventually the wells will break down and will need maintenance. Hopefully he will stay on top of it or others will hop in and do so. I've heard about problems in more rural areas as well where thugs or government authorities will step in and block access to those wells in order to charge exorbitant prices for clean water, hopefully that doesn't happen. I'm all for helping others when you can, but it is also true that one must consider future ramifications of their actions as well when doing so. Good intentions can often lead to disastrous results. Let's hope itll work out for the better

I’ve known people from ministry who have travelled all their lives to Africa to preach and do philanthropy work alongside the evangelizing aspect of Christianity (from southern baptists to Hispanic Pentecostals doing mission trips etc). I’m going to use Kenya as one of the examples but in every single visit or mission they’ve done, all the ministry leaders say the same thing. The Kenyan government is absolutely useless. The corruption and lack of presence they have in impoverished villages is non existent and for many of them they rely on yearly trips from evangelists to get at least a fraction of supplies to their villages whether they be food or medication etc. and there’s only so many churches with their resources that are able to help even a quarter of a year.
This is the case with many countries in Africa. It’s absolutely ridiculous how insulting and useless/corrupt many of these nations governments are. I can only name a handful of them in Africa that genuinely work with philanthropist organizations and organized religions (mostly Christianity) plus the nation’s resources to make an attempt to help their populace.
