Leaving a little of her old bedding when you clean is a good thing. It will have her scent and make her a happy hammy! Your doing a great job! Awesome hammy mommy!
U need to add at least 6 inches of bedding for her to properly burrow, my dwarf only started burrowing when I gave her 9 inches. Now my lucky little girl gets around 10 inches of bedding. U can get care fresh or any other bedding that could be cheaper, also I recommend adding more tunnels and toys like grape vine wood or drift wood so she can explore. Hope this helps xxx Edit: tysm for all the likes!
Agree with this ^^ Lots more bedding! And for hamsters it’s good to have ALMOST crowded living space. Not to crowded where she can’t walk but enough for her to hide under or behind whenever she feels the need to. Being a hamster owner is great! Glad you take suggestions and I know she’ll be happy with you and her home (:
I’m so happy you uprgraded her tank and plan to upgrade even more, I recommend watching some of the bigger hamster youtubers to see their tanks and how they set it up. Maybe you can give her another level to climb on and more bedding to borrow deeper.
I know I’m a little late, but it’s great to see you taking on advice! I’d recommend making around 1/3 of her cage sand, roborovskis come from desert areas, so they need the most sand out of all the species! You’re doing great and she is so cute! Way smaller than my chunk lol! ♥︎
Ah yea just cut a wood plank that size / get some bendy bridge to act as divider and fill it with childrens playsand... that'd look so nice and be great for the hamster
I would recommend mixing that seed mix with the mazzuri rat and mouse lab blocks! I was first feeding oxbow and higgins mixed and as soon as I switched my hamster seemed a lot more active!
i rlly, rlly love how well you're handling the criticism you're receiving (that sadly isn't always constructive in some cases -.-). it's so refreshing to see someone take the advice they're given and improve instead of denying it and saying that they're right. im sure horchata appreciates it too, and she's probably already a happier hamster with how you've improved. before anyone comes at me: im not saying everything is perfect, just that it's a nice change of pace to see someone *finally* accepting criticism and improving themselves because of it
You’re amazing, you’re giving her a wonderful life🐹thank you for being so kind, so many people don’t realise the care these little guys need! You are helping get the message out, thank you!🙋🏻♀️
its so nice to see someone take critisism and change their pet set up. i have my rats in a cage way too big for them and you just get so much joy out of seeing them thrive. also shes adorable
I love the cage set up so much :) I would also recommend feeding her freeze dried meal worms, they're good protein and hamsters happen to be omnivores, my hamsters love meal worms a lot so just putting it out there as a suggestion
Hello! I love how you've been able to accommodate to Horchata's needs/requirements! One thing I would suggest that I haven't seen many people comment is to get a second hide! A hamster is fine with one hide. She can also use the bendy bridge, but I'm think more along the lines of light. The castle let's in a lot of light in the day and will disturb her sleeping patterns. She maybe be sleeping under the bedding though so that's okay! It would just provide her with more options!
I recommend adding coco fibers, some unscented toilet paper in a hide, beech ( I think that’s how you spell it ) chips, sprays and maybe even a multichamber hide one you get a larger enclosure!
Thank you so much for taking the constructive criticism and not throwing a fit like a lot of people do. Its great to see a new hamster owner learning to give the hamster the best life possible :)
Awe I loved that you listened and upgraded! So many people get offended by criticism and your followers really seemed to be genuine and care and gave some awesome advice. I'm not sure if anyone suggested a platform type of hide. I found on amazon and they work great! My hamster and gerbils always bury their wheel and make it unable to spin with all the bedding. So I got these to put the wheel on top of. And the bendy bridges work AWESOME to split the enclosure...I make 1 half really deep bedding, and the other half where the toys, wheel, food and sand bath. So use like 2 for the wall and use 1 for the bridge to get over the wall cuz robos have such squat little legs haha. Neither of these are required but in my experience, has made life so much easier and the squeekhearts totally love it
I love how happy she looks!!! Mine use the sand bath for a bathroom lol. It's nice for clean up but it was cute watching her use it as an actual bath. Other suggestions: try a small fish bowl for the sand, she wont kick the sand all over 😂 Nothing you're doing is technically wrong, she will have such a good life as is. Just little tricks I've learned along the way.
Shes so cute!!! I'm glad you were able to upgrade her cage so early in her life before she got too old! Careful with bendy bridges. Her little toes could get stick between the logs. A easy fix is to get some moss from the reptile section and just use Elmer's glue on it. Obviously wait until it dries before you give it back to her. Sorry if someone already mentioned this. I didn't see anyone saying it or what you could do is use the bendy bridge as a wall (maybe 2 of them) for a huge sand area since she's a robot but bedding will most likely end up in the sand but that's nothing a quick spot clean can't fix. Ps. Thank you for actually listening to the ham community. A lot of people do either ignore us (like my dad who has repeatedly said that my hamsters cages are too big) or find us too "mean"
You've done such a good job handling the critism ! Maybe eventually upgrade to a forty gallon , but you are trying to make it bigger so I know ur trying .❤️hope she is doing well
Not upgrading to a 40 gallon tank isn't going to make the quality of her hamster care less quality. Not everyone can have 40 gallon tanks and it doesnt mean the hamster will not live a wonderful life without it. Maybe people need go focus on more quality advices rather than being obsessed with 40 gallon tanks just because they think they are 'perfect'.
@@noqueq9003some hamsters may require this because of their requirements, all hamsters are different and I do hope horchata loves her new cage. I like how u upgrades the cage I would recommend to add more bedding so she can burrow more at least 6 inches and I am glad u are going to be upgrading that cage as well
I just commented on your other video for a bigger cage and then seen this! even though its not a 40 or 50-55 gallon which is the floor space you need this is still really cute and im glad your caring for her! If you want you can close your door block underneath your dressers and bed and then free roam her there. Also I suggest more litter on one side of the tank and lower on the other for maybe the wheel love this im watching more of your videos so i might comment more!

You have a nice wheel and you definitely feed horchata well, i noticed your scatter feed as well 👍👍 Friendly suggestion Since her space isn't as big as you want it for now i recommend even more bedding. Instead of putting food in the bowl you could just take out the bowl and put food just all around her tank or just put a tiny bit of food in her bowl so she can find more food around her tank it would also just keep her busy 💖😊
it looks so cute!! love the gel clings on the back! I've seen some people turn the little wooden bridges sideways to make like a barrier to have one side of the tank have deeper bedding for a burrow area :) The pink theme is the cutest I love doing pink themes in my guinea pig cage!
AAAA THIS CAGE SETUP IS ADORABLE!! I bet she is very happy with all the new big space to play in. you mentioned how you were curious if you should be mixing anything in with her current hamster food and you could mix in some dried mealworms! It sounds very nasty, but all my robo hamsters were big fans of them and it provides good protein. just giving her a few each week with her current food is perfect!
I’m so glad you made it better, it looks amazing bc although I would not use that bedding I would recommend care fresh or clean and cozy (soft bedding) and don’t use pine or shavings bedding since they are bad for your hamster! Also you need at least 6 inches of bedding so your hamster can actually burrow and do what she loves to do! Hope this helps (I’m not trynna sound mean I’m just trynna help you give your hammi the best life possible) ❤️❤️❤️

I’d recommend that when you clean her cage to add some of the bedding she had befor you cleaned it because it has her sent and it won’t stress her as much because without it smelling like her she will feel like it’s a new area! Hope this helps
You can tell she's much happier too... Such a cute hammie and she's loving her new space ... Bigger is always better and I think you did well as a first time hammie mummy to listen to everyone's constructive criticism....
Hey I recommend the clear smooth c&c cage for a play pen also a 20 gallen is still really small so pls get at least a 40 gallon. Another tip which you don't have to is to go with the natural theme especially because your cage isn't big another it will her more enrichment also recommend giving her a water bowl since its easier to clean and from my experience robo hamsters especially really love water bowls I also recommend having a covered wheel because robots go really fast so it's very common for them to run on there wheel and fall of
I am so happy to see people who take the criticism and actually fix what there doing wrong. The only thing I have to recommend is that you add some more bedding.
Well great! job on fixing some things but like most comments are saying i rlly recomend at least 6 inches of bedding and that u upgrade her cage to at least a 40 gallon tank as soon as posible but other than that good luck with the hammy😊
@@camillak9321 ik i was just giving advise and saying she should get a bigger cage asap because hamsters need to live in an encloser with at least 450 sq inches of floor space
whenever petco has their $1 per gallon sale again you should definitely get a 40 gallon breeder!! it’ll only be $50 instead of $100 thats what i did for both of mine but otherwise this is great! maybe just a bit more bedding when you can!
You should put a lid on it, they might escape, also a 20 gallon like she has is too small! A 40 gallon is the minimum size for a hamster, I’d also recommend watching Victoria Raechel, she has many hamster care videos! Sorry if I came off as rude 😅
That’s amazing how you took the criticism and improved! I would recommend putting a bigger sand bath as well, because a roborovski hamster is naturally from a very sandy climate. Also, maybe get another food to give her as well as the sunburst, because the protein is quite low in the sunburst foods. Maybe mealworms, dried are fine. She is very cute, and she looks fine, but maybe take her to a checkup at the exotic vet, since she was using that dust. It’s great how she’s burrowing! I think 6 inches is the best though, so she can have big, deep tunnels. Edit: maybe a hideout into the sand bath would be better as well, so she can bathe in privacy :>
Leaving a little of her old bedding when you clean is a good thing. It will have her scent and make her a happy hammy! Your doing a great job! Awesome hammy mommy!

@@camillak9321 ik i was just giving advise and saying she should get a bigger cage asap because hamsters need to live in an encloser with at least 450 sq inches of floor space
I love your hamster she’s adorable she looks like mine which is named Carmel. ❤
😄you're so lucky to have a happy and active little cutie
whenever petco has their $1 per gallon sale again you should definitely get a 40 gallon breeder!! it’ll only be $50 instead of $100 thats what i did for both of mine but otherwise this is great! maybe just a bit more bedding when you can!
In the description she said that she is waiting for this exact sale lol :)
Yea I’m waiting till it goes on sale to get the 40 gallon
@@KeiaunaGomez the dollar per gallon sale is actually happening right now
@@KeiaunaGomez dont wate for it to go on sale just make a bin cage I costs 20 dollars and just make sure its 450 square inches
@@rozbozvlog400 yeah but it’s so hard to find 40 gallon bin cages online ; and if you do they’re over £50..
I love this new setup and she’s sooooo cute!
Okay so I’m getting a hamster and I’m getting the same tank as you but I’m wondering if you put a lid on it or not thanks
Make sure that you upgrade her wheel to be bigger as it can damage her back / give them back pains
Your hamster will have a long and happy like :)
