Thank you very much - I used your original AM image from around 2016 for the Pi 3. It was brilliant, just fantastic. I added a one touch on/off button and a dedicated single QUIT button for exiting the games and finally KODI. People loved it for the simplicity and reliability. Thanks again
Hey Floob. Thanks for the video/build. You make it sound so easy, compared to reading/following the official install guide for Attract Mode 😁 But what about Nested mode (I think its called)? Can you add the sub folders for "Collections" and "Arcade" so all the Sonic collection, Street fighter collection and so on... are under "Collections" And Shumps, 4 player, Racing and so on, are under "Arcade"? And what arcade collection are you using? I'm still using "Will's Arcade set v. 3.3" on my Pi3B. But it might be time to upgrade 😁
Here is some info on the nested approach in AttractMode: forum.attractmode.org/index.php?topic=1804.msg18695#msg18695 forum.attractmode.org/index.php?topic=3619 I dont use a collection, I just tend to create my own using a tool like romlister ua-cam.com/video/eApC64-KuwA/v-deo.html
Great vid. Sorry for stupid question. The download link sends me to 2016 stuff? As i am new to ya channel. Literally just subscribed. Where should i be looking? Cheers
Thanks for the video. I am running retropie by its setup script on top of an already running Raspberry OS. I managed to install as an experimental package. After that I am a bit lost to be honest. I have not managed to get it working and cannot find any guide or tutorial under this escenario.
A question - I've used TAB to go into the General Setting of lr-mame2003. I've set CANCEL to the 'esc' key but it won't exit the game for me. Is it set somewhere else in the image? I've set some of the other controls this way so I'm wondering why CANCEL won't work.
@@Floob Thanks - so it's retroarch.cfg that I need to edit [whichever one]. I had thought that the TAB setting were the most basic settings but that must only be for non libreretro cores.
Hi floob, I have a weird issue. When I use the at the Arcade layout on my 4gb pi4, it lags really bad. All the other themes work fine apart from at the Arcade. I increased gpu memory to 512mb, and didn't make a difference. Any ideas what I could try as this is the theme I really wanted to use.
Try this: - In the 'At-The-Arcade' layout series set "Enable CRT screen glow" to "No" and if that is not enough you can also set "Enable lighted marquee effect" to "No" as well. - In the 'Hyperspin-Theme-Mode' layout series, set "Enable video shader effect" to "No". - In any other layout (consoles, computers, handhelds), disable any bloom or glow effects, for example: set "Enable CRT bloom shader effect" to "No". - You can also disable animated backgrounds and the startup animations in the layout's options
Any chance that you might release a version of this but for the Pi 3b+ ?? I'm pretty much useless with Retropie. I can install Attract Mode in the experimental section, but then i have zero clue how to actually access it.
@@Floob Will it not matter that it's based on a build from 6 years ago? I have a build installed I got from arcade punks called SergioHyperspin. It's nice to look at, but there's just to much going on, and to much I don't want. I keep messing up the attract mode controls as well lol.
@@Floob I tried the 0.5v and upon booting, i was met with a black screen. I tried flashing again, but the same thing occured. I'll just continue with retropie, until I can get a Pi 4 at a reasonable price.

Exiting libretro based cores is usually the Start+Select combo.

@@Floob Thanks Floob, I'll try those tonight.
so i went into emulastion station and cant see any option to go back to attract mode and now it just boots into emu station
Check the top option on the RetroPie menu in Emulation Station
Or whack F4 on keyboard and type attractmode

You could try 0.5 here, and see if that works for you: www.smartretro.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8277
