Not to forget C17's role in carrying oxygen tanks from Singapore during the 2nd wave of corona outbreak.
What a change just 10 years. In 2013 UPA defence minister told parliament that we don't have money to purchase Aircraft to purchase and replace battalion of Aircraft.
Just 10 years. We imagine how can Congress can do 50 years

One aspect of a private aircraft builder like Tata is that unlike HAL, such a builder is free to accept orders from civilian sources from short haul airlines and build C295s equipped for purpose. Since Tata owns two airlines, this may not be a huge leap of imagination.
HAL has no Accountability like profits or loss doesn't matter to them.
Atleast that's not the case with ISRO and Indian Railways
HAL is actually the only company that doesn't care at all. Even OFB, DRDO and NHAI are undergoing leaps and bounds.
HAL Is actually a traitor, it is because of them that our Air Force was so weak. They don't do it intentionally, but that is the result. That's Indian Marxist Trade Union for you, the Marxist in China and USSR work hard for their country.
HAL has no accountability the run by labour union. If govt don't give them free loading they will go for strike.
Reform in HAL was undermined by the opposition and a section of the press. with all the noise about disinvestment...and public sector getting the axe stuff
Damn! Never thought I would sit and watch an episode about some transport aircraft. Great episode and personal nuggets.
Gupta Ji is at his best when he covers Indian defence forces and equipment. Ive seen this episode more than once and everytime I watch it, I learn something new, very well compiled and presented. I hope he does one on Submarines and one on the Sub tracking capabilities of Indian Navy. Cheers!!
Thank you for your kind words, Siddharth. You've certainly given me an idea with the submarines suggestion. Thank you also for supporting our journalism...best wishes, Shekhar

Very disingenuous. Do you always require headwinds in life to move forward ? Far from it , tailwinds in the jetstream helps cut the journey time of aircrafts by hours .
aircrafts take off both against and with winds. What nonsense.
Gupta Sir, recently Jyoti ma'am had made a comment to France24 channel regarding opposition states have more freedom, like freedom to walk and talk (I might not be quite right here).
I know by saying so I open myself to a lot of ridicule and name calling.
But still, I do not think she was right and accurate.
She exercised her right to speech ofc. But an inaccurate comment in the media isn't appreciated.
And NO. It doesn't reduce india's position and India is stronger than that, but issues of credibility come into question when sweeping comments are made.
Freedom of Speech isn't free in the nation but we do know, her statement isn't true as well.
Just wanted to let this out.

State competition for growth is something we should all embrace and encourage.
Maharashtra and Gujarat always compete to each other.
Not only that Tamilnad, Telangana, Andhra, Karnataka also compete with all other Indian states.
Maharashtra’s Mihaan has dedicated facility and talent for aeronautic sector requirements.
HAL should focus on designing, research and development, innovation. It should give the manufacturing to private sector.
Absolutely…Too much delay & corruption whenever people are given “Government” money.

I believe that it was Napoleon who said that an army marches on its belly. This indicates the importance of logistics. The C295 will help in ferrying men and material to where they are needed. And now, it is a home grown plane.
I worked on this last 5 years 🙏
Imagine the idiocy of Indian bureaucrats and politicians that they trusted foreign private and public sector companies more than the domestic private sector for 75 years!
After 75 years India still trusts foreign private companies to make mobiles , cars ,buses ,planes ,air-conditioners ,washing machines , and Chinese consumer goods .
Pues no sé equivocan pues el C295 de casa haora Airbus es español y el mejor de su clase una auténtica maravilla con una relación calidad precio inmejorable un producto español100x100.

This aircraft will path the way for manufacturing of popular commercial aircraft in category of A320/1 350 etc. If it is not today, may be 10 years down the line.
Maharashtra, Haryana, Gujarat and Southern states always win. Losers are always Rajasthan, Punjab, MP, UP, Bihar and Orissa. I wish the center would spread such industries equally.
Yup, congrats indeed. I am sure this aircraft can fly to the moon

Equipment, technology, ancillary services & production, employment, strengthen IAF capabilities.
Hope India build 360 degree capable AWACs soon based on this platform
For all they know, HAL stock price has tripled in the last 2.5 years , this should shut up those who say what will happen to HAL 😅
Bangladesh Bought two C-295s in 2017, Those are very good transport aircraft.
Any comparision of cost? or is it secret sealed covers again?
After foreign inputs and license manufacturing of engines and airframes, over nearly 80 years, the 1.5 billion Indians cannot design and build their own aircraft, relying here on the 50 million Spanish to supply basic transport aircraft for them. I find this level of performance to be sub- optimal: even the Indonesians are able to innovate in their collaboration , and certainly the Chinese too.
I just span of 2 year of this plant, we have aircraft acquisition wow, compare this to Hal still waiting for 1st squadron of lca mk1a, we need more of jet project given to pvt sectors
But who?
Yes buy with public money - help private players acquire technology.
Let HAL CONCENTRATE ONLY ON TEJAS , AND FIXING THE OTHER FIGHTER GETS . Added that it can work on defense helicopters....
how collectively Guptaji gets all the clutter first, then cuts through it
Shekharji, you couldn't help talking about HAL. It was a superfluous discussion. Whatever you may say, what's happening now in aviation you would never have anticipated...
TRANSPORT AIRCRAFT ARE KEY FOR TRANSPORTING TROOPS & LARGE EQUIPMENT ….They are CRITICAL to any LARGE, MODERN MILITARY

Hi,
Thank you for supporting our journalism.
C295 should be manufactured in thousand in india both for defence as well as civilian use . Low cost airport completly far away from big airport and a chain of low cost civilian flight connecting b class cities . One thousand c295 for civilian use and two thousand for army ,airforce and navy each one having 800 aircraft
c295 is Spanish and must be manufactured in Spain at least in part, like now, 12-14 of those going to India are manufactured in Spain, as it is a SPANISH aircraft both by design and manufacture.
What are the geopolitical implications of India's shift towards partnerships and acquisitions in aviation, including its alignment with the U.S. as a supplier, and how might this impact regional dynamics?
Ecosystem ban jayega na bhai bharat me 🙂😊🙏
Thanks to HAL we are 10+ years late on completion of delivery of Tejus MK1 forget getting MK2 until 2035
Would this be an opening for the Airbus A400M for India? It should be noted that the C295 is itself derived from the CASA/IPTN C235, a joint Spanish and Indonesian aircraft. Currently, Indonesia is a hub for the C295 production as well.
Indonesia co-produced the CN-235 with Spain... but has not participated in the development of the C-295, only producing it under license.
Even if HAL is full of orders it still needs private partnership to expand, the market for LCH , LCA has expanded due to the Ukraine war
Yes bro 🙂
As we know Tata, they will manufacture indegebious aircraft in future if not in near future.
This Govt policy appears to be that First Receipt will be imported. Hence forth, better start making in India and no more imports. A good policy , I think.
The Behemoth Tata group being in the automobile manufacturing since 70 years still uses American Cummins engines in commercial vehicles and Fiat licenced engine in their flagship SUVs,
The Tatas still haven't designed and developed their own commercial vehicle engine in these last 70 years ,😢😢😢😢
“Sirf savings se kaam nahi chalega” !!
HAL will also have super sukhoi upgrade
Gupta ji is graying😂
Nostalgia
As you said Logistics is the first
Aircrafts have been in use for nearly 100 years now and thanks to HAL we don't have a 100% indigenous passenger and AF capability aircraft. Thanks to HAL and government restrictions, embargo & sanctions west always had upper hand. Today is the age of drone - no human casualty in air, battleground and sea can be imagined however note these western governments seem to entice us in with out dated weaponry and battlefield tactics. Indian defence need to adopt technology, like Israelis and use this type of aircraft for the udaan program for internal logistics. At the same time develop sophisticated drone military and exoskeleton soldiers who are in 1:100 human ratio. Sometimes I wonder why our country wastes so much money in defence, if right education and civilian training could have cost effectively balanced such security concerns. All ILP residents must have access to defensive weapons for the country's safeguards. DRDO must get in to tactical missile development on drone operated vehicles that are using India's indigenous satelite program with redundant backup of western and commi satellites to be effective.
when you replace human soldiers with AI enabled exoskeleton robots, you are going to have to deal with riots in the states of Bihar, UP and bengal. Remember that these states, especially Bihar have a HUGE army of uneducated and unemployed youth who depend on the military recruitments just to get a job. We all saw what happened when the armed forces brought the Agniveer scheme. How do we deal with such kind of youth? India cannot afford to replace human soldiers with drones and machines, atleast until 2040.
@@amiteshsingh5033 this is so true my friend I completely agree what happened to agniveer program. But State is actually not supposed to be the employer but acts as an enabler. What else can I possibly perceive.
Making civilian aircraft is no joke 😂 you guys think it's easy, everyone can do that? Even if you make one, it will take decades to get safety license, these Airbus and Boeing have started that long ago, and india that time was going through economic problems
@@Tir2002 I am not asking to develop a jet tomorrow or by 2025 dost. But out large airlines just ordered bunch of deals that are worth billions of $s and even if we start today with technology and know how available we can dominate by 2035 or more realistically 2040. Won't you agree to this? Our lca program is called indigenous but all critical parts came from the west yeat AF purchased 4.5 gen rafelle and with much deliberation Tejas. HAL or maybe the government let us down here. Tejas is 3rd gen in the Drone era. I don't want my brother's or sisters to lose lives flying archaic technology. Huge salute for those in front line but that are not sacrificial animals, they are the most talented and deshbhakt.
🔥👍🏻
Kitna deti hai?
HAL and DRDO should only focus on new technology and coming up with prototypes... Real production should be given to Private sectors SO that we can go parallel with rest of the world otherwise we will stay one genaration behind them like we are in the early stages of building 5th gen fighter while europe and USA are in early stages of 6th gen fighters

Shekhar ji, no one will raise any issue in this transport Air craft case bcz it is done in collaboration with TATA.
People have trust in TATA.
The Raffle issue got triggered bcz Anil Ambani didn't have any experience and also he was becoming bankrupt. Along with that his business acumen was for everyone to see.
If the Rafale deal was made with Tata, Bajaj or even Mahindra, people would not have questioned it that much.
Now the logical question is what prompted gvt to deal with a bankrupt Ambani?
They should have given the contract to Adani transmission to keep it a family affair.

It is natural that PM would want to develop Gujarat, However positing vital Defence Industries in Gujarat may not be wise. It is a state that borders Pakistan. In time of conflict, these factories become easy targets. These industries should be located in Central or Southern India which are far from the border. The distance from the border offers some additional security.
