Superstar Saga Dance (Aseprite Exercise)

- Just as the title claims, I've been practicing with the program Aseprite to do any sprite edits in the future. I made both the princesses, plus Wario & Waluigi's dance loops respectively after seeing this post the other day:

This was mainly done just for fun, but I'd highly recommend giving Aseprite a go to those interested. I really can't wait to continue using it as the series progresses!

Russians don't exist
I imagined the combat styles of the 6 characters:
Mario and Luigi: They remain the same
Peach: Fast tank but low damage and low SP/BP
Daisy: Very Ofensive and Fast, but Low defense
Wario: Ofensive, Defensive and Very Slow
Walugi: Lucky Glass Cannon
Daisy also sounds like a glass cannon, but with less RNG, I guess.
I feel like both Wario and Waluigi would have high stashe stats, while Peach and Daisy would have a different stat to represent it.

@@chrisitolecarnaque3696 calling it "Crown" would be more in line with the rest, even bowser
Peach is present in the game of Super Mario RPG, there she is akin to a healing/support mage with the ability of tanking magical attacks. But that idea you shared also sounds good for a pink character (reminds me of Jigglypuff and their Paradox version as well)
Daisy’s dance moves are perfect for her personality. Also think it’s cute of how Peach just flaps her dress while dancing.
Now I want a M&L game with Wario and Waluigi

@@masedaace5473 Yes but you can choose between these guys with a party block or menu, instead of controlling them at once.
Oh, ok. I prefer taking a Sonic Heroes approach and having multiple groups have their own story modes before teaming up for the finale.
@@masedaace5473 Not bad, I played sonic rush and it had a similar format. I would like to see something like that in a Mario & Luigi game, but have it flow like Bowser's Inside Story as far as switching between the groups goes.

I really love Daisy’s Sneakers, it fits her tomboyish nature and should be a normalized part of her design. I feel Daisy would find high heels to be uncomfortable and a bit hard to move around in and especially running with them.
I'd like to imagine that the sneakers were the compromise. She has to wear the dress because she's a princess, but hates wearing heels so she probably convinced her chancellor that she'll wear the dress only if she gets to wear sneakers
@@SuperNintendoGameboy either that or she wears the sneakers simply by wearing a dress that covers them up with its size and length, allowing her to wear sneakers without getting nagged

but sometimes you play as Wario and Waluigi / Peach and Daisy
Mario : as usual, a little more powerful in attacks than luigi
Luigi : as usual, has a little more HP than Mario
Peach : high defense, low attack
Daisy : low defense, high attack
Wario : high HP
Waluigi : high luck and speed

Theory: These are unused sprites from Superstar Saga. You were originally supposed to get more partners via e-Reader cards, based on the version of the game that didn’t star just Mario and Luigi, but due to poor sales, the idea was scrapped. The sprites can be loaded in-game, but use bunches of data loaded sprites from enemies and items from the game’s code.

Unrelated to the sprites (which are amazing by the way), but I think this is the weakest version of the song. I still debate whether the GBA one or the Superstar Saga remake one are better, but this one lacks both of thise other ones' strengths.
