She probably wants to run as a Republican in the primary, to take votes from Trumpists & then have the option to run as an independent, to take votes from a Trumpist nominee. She needs to be wary, though. Vote splitting doesn’t always work as intended, ie, she’d also be taking votes of Republicans who’d otherwise vote for the Dem, as happened in 2020 when many Rs voted Biden… So, unless she takes enough Rs from the Trumpist, it’d backfire.
I would love for us to have a chance to welcome her with outstretched American Democracy loving arms!💙🤗

Possible outcomes if Pence makes the opposite decision: the fake electors are counted and complete chaos ensues with a dictator in the White House and millions of people protesting in the streets, does the military chain of command continue to follow Trump or the duly elected president, does Trump then have to be physically removed from office (legally or by force), and does the US devolve into a civil war. So yeah. Pence deserves credit and history will properly credit his role in saving democracy.

I agree with you but at the same time, we have to at least acknowledge that he didn't do what 99% of his party did and kiss Trump's arse in that moment. I don't applaud him for doing the right thing, but I thank him for doing the right thing in a position where literally no other Republican outside of a select few (that I can count on one hand) would have. It's not setting the bar very high at all but his decision to put his foot down was incredibly important and that cannot be understated. Had he chose to do otherwise, our country would have been significantly worse for it. I don't praise him for doing the right thing but I will thank him for it.

We would have had asshole militias in half the states declaring war on the nation. He prevented that. At great physical peril. Trump even sent the Secret Service to take him away, ostensibly to protect him, but actually to prevent him from certifying the vote.

I don’t agree with her on many policy points but she demonstrates the kind of honesty, ethics and character that should be expected of our leaders. She is willing to sacrifice her career for the good of the country. For that reason I would vote for her.
I recognize her integrity and honesty; however, I would never vote for her because of her policies.
There is only one problem. She has never demonstrated this Honesty, Character and ethics BEFORE she had a chance to take down Trump. Despite many issues that could of used it over her years.
I felt the same way - but I'd never have voted for her dad in any universe. I'd have voted for McCain if I thought he'd been in the right place at the right time. Interesting, but a bit of a softball interview. Would have liked him to press her in more depth on that first impeachment. I listened to the evidence and Trump sounded as guilty as hell to me. Hill and Vindmann were pretty compelling just on their own.
And the last few years haven’t demonstrated “a lot of political courage”. Most of what we’ve seen from the GOP has been craven cowardice, in the face of compelling evidence…
