I just had this realization with this song not too long ago. I had known the song for a long time but pulled up the lyrics and my thoughts exactly. The end too, literally brought me to tears. I feel like this song perfectly encapsulates the anger and grief that comes with losing someone you love

@@krueptic i don't like his nasal tone anymore,it doesn't fit SOAD heavy songs, but it does fit Meznerize and Hypnotize tho, but he should learn how to scream properly instead of impersonating Squidward

His voice is aging, he won't ever be able to scream again, especially because he probably damaged his vocal folds when he didn't do it properly in his youth. It is what it is. If you don't like it, I can't tell you otherwise, though. It took me some getting used to, now I quite appreciate it. Also: he's always had a nasal tone, it comes from his voice + Armenian singing style, he just had to dial it up to protect his poor throat lmao
@@krueptic plz dont come with 'he's aging he's getting older" "he can't scream" because he can scream and rly well when he wants to and age doesn't mean anything, Corey Taylor from Slipknot and Jonathan Davis from Korn are also in their 50s and they are good exemples of vocalist that still can scream even being older, why? Because they learned how to, (andCorey almost lost his voice), Serj could easily learn how to use false chords which is one of the safest and easiest way to scream and he does can sing normal like he used to without being extremely nasal, and I know it's an Armenian style the nasal tone, but it wasnt super nasal before, SOAD's lives from 1996 - 2002 Serj didnt even had a super strong nasal voice like nowadays, only in 2003 - 2005 he started with a strong nasal tone but he still manage to balance with good screams which was an amazing era for his voice it didn't sound like Squidward and it was good nasal vocals, but nowadays be just nasal noises with bearly any energy, the whole band just seems dead, he could learn false chords but he doesn't, and I read that he didn't even want to do SOAD's last 2 albums and wanted to stop with band and he's probably the one who doesn't want to scream or learn how to, even tho it's easier, so it's up to him to do it or not, I'm rly not the biggest fan of SOAD'S lives from nowadays because of his voice, actually the whole band seem to be dead, only Shavo seems to have a lot of fun on stage
November 2023: I’m 55 years old, was on my beautiful Harley Davidson today riding in Florida listening to this song. So powerful. Just amazing, still stands the test of time after all of these years….
