Also back before Daron essentially decided he was the frontman. To me it felt like he took over more and more with every album and is why I personally lost interest after Toxicity. I saw them in 98 and then at some fest in I think 2004 or 2005 and that guy just would not shut up. I'm glad they've been super successful, but it wasn't even close to the same experience sonically.

They were opening for incubus. This was SOAD’s 2 nd time in St. Louis. The first was with clutch and slayer. I was at both shows.
Slayer opened for them at Hellfest last year in October.
As stated above, the show w/Slayer was earlier in the year, before their CD was released. This show was later, after they played OzzFest '98.

DeathByDegrees10 I recall hearing somewhere that music (cds etc.) cost more to buy in Japan. So artists / labels started adding bonus tracks to give them extra tracks to make up for it.
It was also released on the Strangeland soundtrack.
I like the surf-inspired vibe, you can definitely hear it in the drum rhythm and guitar riffs

They all do their thing to the fullest. They're one of the most interesting bands ever. Serj killing the vocals, and dance moves. John beating them drums like they beat him first. Shavo playing the bass like he's done it before, and Daron humping the hell out of that guitar.
Makes me so sad i was less than 1 year old when this show happened.. BEST SHOW EVER!!

I was 10 when this show happened. At that time I had no idea the SOAD existed. My bands was Nirvana, Red Hot, White Zombie, Faith No More, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam and Rage Against The Machine.
I was at this show!!!! Also saw Korn, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Marilyn Manson, Sepultura, Helmet, Incubus(at the same show with System), Tricky, geez I know I am missing so many. Saw them all from 96-99.

System lived in my neighborhood at this time. I still live down the street from the Whiskey and the Roxy. I swear in that summer I saw Limp Bizkit, Taproot, StaticX, Slipknot, Coal Chamber and many others roll through the clubs down here.
Slipknot didn’t hit the west coast till ozzfest 99 bud. But that’s awesome tho you grew up in a great era

god damn, this was too good. watched the whole thing in one sitting. my jaw wont close. too amaizing. so much energy, just good quality.
Amazing. I saw them 9 days prior to this date at a tiny club in Tempe AZ that was the size of my current living room. This is the closest thing to reliving that experience. It was one of the most intense and energetic shows I've ever been to. Daron had the same red face paint. Shavo doing the weird rocking motion during the bass intro of Suggestions. And of course, mega intense Serj before he damaged his voice. Just incredible.
Where did u see them?. I lived in Tempe from '86 to '02. Now live in Miami. Seen so many bands during that time. I liked it there. I missed this show!. Where the he'll was I

I think somewhere out there there's a demo of it. I think it was written for the self titled album but they thought the sound of it was too different from the rest of the songs.
hey, if you wanna know more about System, Suggestions was the only song from the self-titled that wasn't featured on any of the demos. It was written in the studio just for the album. Unless there are earlier recordings out there ready to prove me wrong!
Yeah, I kinda figured that. I found a .rar file that stated to have "ALL" the demos for their self-titled, but it had all of them except Suggestions.

Oh Man!!!!!! Freaking awesome show! I saw them on this tour when they came through and already had been listening to the hand album for a good month.... Holy crap when those dudes got up on stage in the dark and the curtain dropped, lights came on, and the decibels exploded through the amps the whole place went off like a bunch of C4!!!!! This was one of the top three best live shows I have seen.
