Super interesting to watch! They are impressive polyglots, but it's worth noting that all the languages they speak are from either Romance or Germanic families. They don't seem to be familiar with Uralic or Turkic languages, which isn't that surprising but still fascinating since those are relatively close to Western Europe and have many speakers in their countries of origin.
Maybe it's just me being Indonesian so I'm more used to Asian languages, but to think that Punjabi sounds more "Arabic" than Arabic is just wild. I also think Vietnamese sounds very distinct as a tonal language, so to confuse it with Azerbaijani? That's pretty funny. Great job though! We learn something new everyday, so yeah, always so much fun! 🎉

    • @spadaacca

@@kilanspeaks They don't actually speak more than 5 languages. You can't really classify German and Swiss-German as two different languages. And his Spanish level...I wouldn't say he speaks it enough to count as a full language (I do speak it fluently). To be an absolute baseline polyglot, you have to speak 4 distinct languages properly (i.e. 1 more than a trilingual). And most polyglots are way above that in comprehension, and way beyond that in recognition. If two people can't event identify that a language is not French - one of the most commonly recognized languages in the world, and confuse other common languages so badly...yeah, not impressive unfortunately.

He was likely meaning the alphabet, which would be correct, althought using specific alphabet actually have little impact on language, other than that if they use arabic script they likely have many loanwords from arabic/persian (in this case languages are closely related to persian so many words would still be similar otherwise) , but it's unlikely to affect overall sound of language to the point that it would sound like arabic.

    1. Funny, but when it was Bashkir language it was "Bashkortostan" in the speach, so the place was even said...
    2. Breton belongs to Celtic languages, so they got a lot of luck in their guess. Well but maybe Celtic influence to French language also affects.
I think, the problem is the guys called "polyglots" know just couple of language from Germanic and Romance group, so they completely lost when it is something else.

The meaning of polyglot means that they speak more than 2 languages, and the reason is because they live in those countries that they speak the language, in general to recognize languages from all around the world is kinda hard to expect something like, if the languages were by propused to something that they could recognize such as flemish or galician or tupi would be way more cool to watch but like, they trying to guess where is basharkstan language is just odd to me

Yes, Breton is from Brittany, the NW corner of France. It's also where the term "Great Britain" is derived from. William, Duke of Normandy, Normandy being the next province east of Brittany, takes the English crown in 1066. From that point on, it was disputable whether various regions of modern-day France were French or British, and why Britain and France fought so many wars in the subsequent several hundred years.

From what I've heard, I think Kazakh is very difficult. Each word was pronounced very quickly, so that I did not understand at first what language it could be. But at the end some words were pronounced very strongly, which I can't explain. Hearing those words I thought maybe it would be Arabic. But it's Kazakh!! I think this language is very difficult for fast and strong pronunciation.
But in Bengali, no word is pronounced in such a fast and strong way. Every word of Bengali is pronounced very calmly, softly, sweetly and with emotion. But the way we usually speak Bengali in Bangladesh is quite different from the proper Bengali. So sometimes the pronunciation may seem strange to foreigners. But proper Bengali accents are very sweet! That's why Bengali is the sweetest language in the world!! ❤
But Kazakh is also very beautiful. Fast and strong pronunciation but quite beautiful! ❤

And i coundnt be serious when they were like okay this sounds asian like what part of it? they were like it sounds indian and asian and if they meant chinese by asian well that neither sounded mandarin nor indian😭
Im asian yet never ever watched a single kazak movie or heard of their language but i just guessed that it is central asian after hearing it because i can tell if it is a combine of turkic and russian while i dont even speak any of those
