Didn’t realize Earthside had a new album out until I ran across it randomly yesterday, so of course I instantly bought it without even listening. Honestly had no idea who Keturah was when I heard this song and assumed it was a dude with some serious range. Really interesting voice.
I hope this is a song included in a new LP coming our way. It's been 7 years since the last album but it feels like an eternity. I truly love this band.
@@demontheory lmao I'm not disagreeing with you, I was actually agreeing and making the point that they are slow to produce new music 😂😂 you take things way too personal, pal 🤣🤣

@@EarthsideBand Thanks. That was helpful. BTW the link in the description to buying tickets for the tour with Vola doesn't work for me. I knew how to find them prior, but thought I would let you know.
I legit thought keturah was a tenor with a higher set voice similar to Ashe O'Hara or Anthony Green, but i was pleasantly surprised when i found out keturah was an alto-mezzo belter. She has this beautiful androgynous energy and tone in her voice that feels like a beautiful, balanced mix of masculine and feminine energies that I've seen only a handful of people be able to pull off. Kudos to Keturah and kudos to you beautiful souls at earthside. Y'all never cease to amaze your audience.
Maybe it's due to me being from a part of the world where lower voices are more common, but I thought her voice is still decidedly feminine, just... raw, powerful and natural. It has some 'white voice' (see wikipedia) quality to it.
I had a similar thought, but honestly what it comes down to me is the vocal character, between the delivery and the timbre. Both are excellent, they bounce between tender parts, powerful belts, and those smooth sustains. The voice fits the song absolutely beautifully both when it's heavy and soft and she nailed it.
Earthside's flawless cinematic prog + Keturah's beautiful and emotional range = perfection 4:42 in the bridge to the climax of the song gives me the chills. Just... wow!

First-class musicians with an unexpected guest: Keturah 😮And Keturah, ahh... her voice is so piercing, yet vulnerable and soft. Maybe this is my favorite song now. You are wonderful, Earthside. I wish you all the luck guys. Lots of love
How can i call this? It's almost an evolution to the structure of the last album self titled song but with the heavy emotion of the last song. It's romantic, agressive, technical, beautiful, all at the same time. Holly shit.
First time hearing Earthside, first time hearing Keturah. That sound, with that voice, I don't think I've ever been so affected by a piece of music, and I'm ahundredeleventytwelve years old.

To be free or fearful?
To believe in a past controlled
Deciding what remembers
When we die
Will it matter
How we lived at all?
To our own ends
Will we be forceless again?
I can feel it
Blinding all
Lighting the way
For we who lament it
You’re lighting the way
We’re so indigent
You’re lighting, we’re writhing
Save yourself
Because I’m the one withered
Playing my sordid part you’ve tendered
Save yourself
Because I’m the one splintered
You’re signing our fate
Here we lie
Our souls in cinders
They’ve blinded us all
Can we find a way
To realize, who we are
Again
Faceless and forceless again
Voiceless Again
Faithless and
All this screaming isn’t who we are
When we die
If it’s the end
Will we be forceless again?
Blinding all
Dying away
In we who lament it
Time gone
Hoping, I’ve longed to...
And slowly I find my way alone
Time gone
