I’ve had the 2022 Type S in white pearl for about a year now. Great car. Got all the necessary options for the body as well (the side skirts is a must)
I love the TLX Type S and am in a position that I could buy one. In fact, I have been planning to buy one even before they came out. However, as much as I'd like to have one, there is one thing that keeps me from pulling the trigger. I drive about 20k miles per year and the abysmal fuel economy coupled with $5/gallon premium gas price have me seriously reconsidering. Most of my driving is on the highway but the Type S is only rated at 24/Hwy. If it got 28 or better I could justify the purchase. And I'm not in the market for a BMW but even the much faster BMW 340i gets over 30 on the highway. Don't know why Acura failed so miserably in the fuel economy department. Like I said, I totally love the car except for this one issue and it's a big issue because it equates to a lot of money over time. I would consider the TLX 2.0T if it performed better than its "lowly" cousin, the Accord Touring 2.0T but it doesn't. I'm not going to pay more for an Acura only to be outperformed by Honda. It may sound like I don't really like the TLX, but I do. I just want to like it more so I can justify buying one. If the base TLX outgunned the Accord, I would buy it. Or if the TLX Type S got better fuel economy, I would buy it. Fingers crossed for a fix with the mid cycle refresh. It sure is a beautiful car though.
I think it’s just their engines poor mpg across the board. The rdx doesn’t get the best mpg either. I really wished Acura would have focused on a sports tuned hybrid like the nsx power plant.
@@tri3pleagent I owned a CT5 Sport, was looking to upgrade to a CT4 blackwing, every dealer in my area couldn't aquire one. Was also being told this was the last production year for the blackwing. Which was refuted by Cadillac when I contacted their head office. Ultimately I went with Acura and don't regret a thing. The car is perfect for daily driving.
When you are chainging lanes on the highway you can blip the signal and it will click for a few seconds and turn off. Took me awhile to figure it out on mine and beats holding it.
I see u that u live in jersey im from that area i have a kia stinger whenever u go for a drive on back roads hit me ill be more than down to go for a run wit a type s never ran one before nice car btw
I can really tell the difference between all four sport plus is crazy stiff meaning if you gonna be acting like a race car driver that's what you want but 70% of the time I put the suspension in comfort and the engine and sport the steering wheel in comfort. You can mixed all those settings in individual mode

I’ve got the ApexBluE TypE-S. Got clocked doing 113mph merging on to the highway. But the cop gave me a 60mph in a 55mph zone. 😃👍🏼

The reason the fuel economy sucks is because the car is heavy, I own one and it's all curb weight.
@@thetwoamigos8656 Yes, the Type S is at least 300-400lbs too heavy. If it weighed in the 3800lb range, it would transform the car.

CT4 - V or CT5 - V. Give them a look. People automatically look past Cadillac but they are helluva performance options. Don't sleep.
